Without God, I would have committed suicide a couple years ago. I denied him for breaking me and my ex up after 3 years. Jesus showed up my passenger seat of my car before I was about to drive into a ditch. Now, I live for him and am happily engaged to the Godliest woman ever. Praise God.

If only some ignorant people could see the impact their music has on young people especially in todays generation were people think that they need to drink and do drugs in order to have fun. Why can't christians have fun? Why can't we glorify God through the way we live out lives? As a 20 year old girl in this generation I am glad that they are making music like this that will encourage young people and show them that serving God is wonderful! I wish more young people would see this. When I am out with friends I will be jamming out to this in my car as loud as it goes lol I will show the world what living is really like.

I'm 21, and honestly, music is something that is really important to me in my faith and I love that this is music that I want to listen to 24/7 not just in church. it has the power to inliven me and inspire me all the time, and I hope that it can do the same for other young people and help bring them to the Lord :P x

They sing a lot about freedom and happiness in living throughout this song. Although the visuals may not be of church, images of Jesus etc. I think it is really showing that these young people are Christians yet they aren't in a life of boring rules like many expect, yet they aren't doing anything such as drinking, drugs etc. but they are happy and they are free.
And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. Mk 8:35. I realize this is a hype video but they seem pretty self absorbed.

Well there's also the fact that a big part of it is relationships. You don't make friends by sitting around a stack of Bible, you can't invite people to church if you stay home all day, etc.

Either way though, it's a video intended to, in my opinion, show how 1) it's ok to have fun. 2) Christians do indeed have fun. 3) be an encouragement to do something aside from just Bible studies (you can't meet people who are out of church & influence them when you only go to church).

I haven't been to church in a long time and as soon as i started playing this song i burst into tears. What an amazing piece of art
I love the music video, and more importantly, the message behind it. This is living. Christianity is not boring, it's exciting. And it is also dangerous and risky. We live different from the rest of the world, but we can still have fun being in the world, not of it. These young people are doing that. To me, it shows everyday life, through a perspective that I see true life--living for Christ, not for myself. This video inspires me to live freely in a way that glorifies God, it symbolizes the freedom we have in our new, purified bodies to "go and sin no more". His love and grace lifts us higher--it's thanks to Him that we have the freedom to wake, live and testify to His Name! I would hope that that would be enough for my friends and I to get excited enough to shout the Good News in all the streets and dance and celebrate like the young ones in this video! 😄

greeneyes❤ Unfortunately this video does not represent true Christian faith. This video shows living for yourself, and not for Christ. Where is - deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me? Definitely not present in the video. It's all about jumping around and singing some meaningless stuff. It is inline with modern charismatic doctrine that was never practiced in church, this heresy arose only a little over 100 years ago... It is truly sad...
Vadim Kruglikov The church today definitely looks/acts different from the original church that began after Jesus' legacy. If there is any time period I could travel to, it would be the Biblical times during the early church. Although I know my faith would be under great persecution, I also believe my faith would be much stronger. That being said, I don't think that our Christian faith today is any less true than anyone else's.
In the video, we obviously don't know those people's lives or their relationship with Jesus (assuming the people in the video are Christian). As a freshman going to the biggest Christian university in the world, I can see us *truly* living for Christ. That can be going to Bible studies, and then to play sports together after, or to Christian concerts and talking, laughing on the street along the way. My heart's desire to glorify Him in *all* I do, in my singing, playing, talking, thinking, laughing, jumping, etc! Personally, I didn't see any sinful acts happening in the video, at the same time, I can understand where you are coming from in the Bible when it says to not let any time be wasted in meaningless activities. *What I gleaned from the video is the importance of Christian fellowship (assuming the people in the vid were Christian).* For all we know, they could be a group of students meeting for the first time and sharing about what God is doing in their lives, or leading a friend to Christ and celebrating. I can understand your point of view that the Church is swaying in the opposite direction of Christ, and living selfishly. That saddens me too. However, I have to politely disagree with your perspective only because I am blessed as a young Christian to be surrounded with thousands of of other new generation Christians that love Jesus FIRST! It's so wonderful to be able to hang out with other people who love Jesus and encourage you in your daily walk with Him! We all choose to take up our individual crosses and follow Him, but along the way, if I fall I will have a brother or sister to help me back up!!
I still stand by everything I said in my original post, but I just wanted to clarify my point of view. I am very naturally optimistic, and I truly believe that my generation can make a difference for Christ's kingdom--despite our flaws! I seriously dont comprehend why people are arguing over the music video and the way it is portraying the youth having fun and lving life. Like honestly give it a break, who says Christians cant have fun in a productive way. Yes we need God and worship him becuase its a need and without him, well we wouldn't be here. However, that doesnt mean that we're gonna be in church all the time since worshipping God is a lifestyle not just a one time thing every sunday. Whats so wrong about this video anyways, like there are people enjoying themselves with friends and most importantly with Jesus , so whats so wrong about that. Like do want them to be sad and depressed, absolutely not because they realize that this life is worth living and we shouldnt waste it. Your Welcome
You are right in saying that it should be a lifestyle and not be a routine that christians need to follow. I remembered my pastor was preaching in a sermon talking about our daily lives and also our daily walk with God. It doesn't mean that we can't have fun, but it's about how we live our lives out, and also doing things that are glorifying the Kingdom of God as well as showing to others that God is you, rather than doing things that are wasting our lives away like drinking and etc. i'm just a teen and I am open to everyone's opinion :)

Some people are afraid to become Christian, because they see it as something religious and boring and uncool. When I became one, I found it really cool and free-feels. Having deep relationship with Jesus offers freedom and fulfillment. With this music, it breaks the mentality of other people that Christianity is hyper-religious and hyper-boredom. This is the music of my generation. :D

Mind you I believe Trump CAN be a good or bad president and I just pray y'all Americans pray for and not against him.

People always associated Christianity and religion with being conservative and confining. Like we are a slave chained to something that sucks the life out of you. That because I'm a Christian I can't do what's cool and fun. But they don't understand that we are the free one's. We were created to be love and to be joy for God. We're God's children! Don't parents feel an overwhelming joy when they see their child shine and be passionate for something? It's the same for God! And when he sees us living the life he blessed us with, and the way he intended it to be lived he is filled with so much happiness. God didn't make us to be alone and chained, but to be free.

I know Young&Free are their own branch of hillsong, but i prefer the genuineness of the classic praise and worship songs. I'm talking bout With Everything, From the inside out, All I need is You, etc. but I mean this song is kinda catchy too.. I just pray and hope that Hillsong Young&Free doesn't forget that it's not about the catchy music but it's all for God.
With everything you do whether its picking up trash or preaching the word do it the best you can because its for God. If you take a listen to the lyrics and not the catchy music its all about God. God has a plan and purpose for everyone. Not everyone is into deep worship such as the normal Hillsong. Others love to jump scream shout and praise the name of Christ. Young and free appeals to a younger crowd. Its great and they praise the Lord with their music
Do you remember Hillsong United early albums? It was a kind of aggressive rock music and stuff like this, but they grew up and so their style and went into something more mature while keeping good lyrics and they even improved them.. As for me, Young&Free is really good because it combines EDM current trend with strong lyrics for God, and I think that when they grow up, their style will sound much like Hillsong United.
Well that's the beauty of the different branches. Lots of genres to choose from; reaching out to different kinds of people. Main point is that there can be different musical ways to praise Him, why limit yourself to one style?

I don't think he (Jonathon Her) said anything wrong. These guys needs daily prayer. The temptation to stray falls on EVERYONE which is why PRAYER is our best defense and the best support we can give our fellow brothers and sisters. I support what they are doing. Times have changed and we can't always reach new souls in one way. The devil has many different tactics to get us to fall and stray away from God. So why can't we, as believers, have different tactics to battle it out? Does God only reach us in one way? Doesn't God even use unbelievers sometimes to get our attention? Just pray for these people whom are trying to be the light of this world. At least these guys have the courage to proclaim openly, something that a lot of us (myself included) can struggle with. Always remember to please pray for these people. Stop judging, stop saying if its wrong or right...thats not our Job, that isn't the role God gave us. He is judge.

I love hillsong young and free being teenager and living for God is amazing when I was little girl I thought that we must do this but it wasn't really easy ,years later I was introduce to lustful things and suicide I thought as a 13 years old I didn't have freedom but one day when my youth group said we were going to a youth camp i didn't know that Jesus was leading me to him so I went I thought it was going to be a normal camp where everyone would curse and do whatever they want but I was wrong,later we had the most amazing worship ever and we had a special speaker and then I felt so much love like I can't explain how much love it was so I went up to the altar .and others did as well and I gave my life back to Jesus and now I'm 16 years old and I'm the most happiest teenager and that I'm forgive 😇

Honestly, im also a teenager and there have been many times when i thought of bad stuff like suicide and depression, but i just try and pray and it really changes things. When i am depressed because of my parents fighting i pray. God is our Lord and Savior and he is the light in my life

The world concludes to that you can do whatever you want, whenever, wherever, however. If this was truly the point of life, you can make goals, but what is the actual point? If you can do whatever, what would make you do all of this? What are you living for? Lecrae's part stands out to me that we are living for and in Christ. That gives meaning. I want to live my life to the fullest, for Christ. So, now I ask you this. What do you live for?
