  • A miniature model of a hyperloop train under development, which is able to travel between Seoul and Busan in just 16 minutes, has been introduced in Korea.
Built in a scale of 1:40 (one to forty), the miniature hyperloop model was displayed by a research team of UNIST at a recent international transport forum held in the country's southwestern industrial city of Ulsan. UNIST is an Ulsan-based science and technology university.
Although it is a miniature model of an initial prototype, the hyperloop ultra-speed train system drew high attention at the forum as it requires various futuristic technologies.
A hyperloop train would work by propelling pods through a large-scale tube at speeds of up to 1,200 kilometers per hour using magnets, meaning the roughly 200 mile trip from Seoul to Busan would take way less than 20 minutes.
Led by the Korea Railroad Research Institute, eight institutions in Korea, including the UNIST team, are engaged in the development of technologies related to the hyperloop system.
[Dr. Lee Gwan-Seok, researcher, the Korea Railroad Research Institute]
"We plan to complete the development of core technologies (for the hyperloop system) by 2024 and then continue to develop commercial technologies."
Since its introduction to the global market in 2013, the research and development of the hyperloop system has been carried out in many countries as well as by many private businesses.
Already equipped with world-level magnetic levitation and air compression technologies, South Korea is widely seen having a strong potential to be a leader in the hyperloop system segment.

So why can't we have mini maglevs delivering packages and food everywhere? Imagine the efficiency of tube networks transporting goods around.

South Korea will be the only country in the world, to have a Hyperloop train and the first one to do so, as when South Korea gets their first Hyperloop train then Japan’s fastest bullet train will be a thing of the past compared to South Korea’s first Hyperloop train that means Japan’s next fastest bullet train will be a snail compared to South Korea’s first Hyperloop train.

Although it is theoretically possible to reach 1,200 KPH (745 mph) the actual model reached speeds between 621 and 636 mph. Similarly the Canadian French company known as Transpod, projects that their hyperloop speed will also be around 621mph/ This however is still pretty fast. Will it be built? Absolutely. BUT is it efficient?
    1. Commercial planes travel between 500 to 600 mph. So the hyperloop's maximum proven speed in the model is only 36 mph faster than a plane. But planes can travel virtually anywhere, and the hyperloop can not.
    2. Compared to trains: highspeed trains can change directions, the hyperloop can not. Because hyperloop's speeds are so great, it would create g-forces that would hurt or kill someone if it changed directions,
    3. High speed trains allow passengers to board and exit at multiple stops, for the hyperloop this would be unfeasible. The tube would have to have to slowly compress the air back in the tunnel, allow others to get on, and then evacuate the air again. All of this would take time, and destroy much of the gains it made by being faster.
Sure it can be made, but is it efficient to do so?

Hyperloop is actually not a better idea compared to maglev train.

Not only cars and trains but every South Korean company is killing it!!! Like Samsung has already beat Apple several times now Samsung is going to destroy Snapdragon with it's upcoming exynos line up.. like literally south Korean companies are on another level.. like Samsung and lg are going to roll out 6G and by that I mean network not phone... Again it will become first in the world line 5G and currently has fastest 5G network... Samsung built many world's tallest building including Burj khalifa Taipei tower etc and now it is making tallest building in it's own country THE HYUNDAI TOWER...Now Hyundai revealed world's first hydrogen fuel cell car and truck and upcoming futuristic hybrid electric car named IONIQ check it out on YT.. South Korea just revealed 3rd fastest high speed futuristic high speed train too...Like name it all entertainment industry modern technologies beautiful nature and everything respect to SOUTH KOREA !!!
