- South Korean Son Yeon-Jae has swept five individual titles at the eighth Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships in Uzbekistan.
Son won the gold in all four apparatuses, a day after wresting her third straight individual all-around in the Asian championships on Monday.
She won the gold in ribbon with a new career-high 18.700 points. Earlier Tuesday, Son scored 18.600 points both in hoop and ball, and 18.550 points in clubs to also finish first. Son, 21, became the first since Kazakhstan's Aliya Yussupova swept the five Asian individual titles in 2009.
Her wins raise hopes that the 21-year-old will become the first South Korean rhythmic gymnast to win an Olympic medal in Rio.
