I take guanfacine it’s an absolute trip I finally got that ability to do what needs to get done I felt for so long that agonizing feeling was just me being problematic but then after taking it I feel a lot better but still it is not magic if I don’t choose to stay focused I won’t but it’s a lot less agonizing to do what I need to do

I believe I have ADHD and Autism, but I never got diagnosed in school because my parents sent me to a Lutheran school, and they just said I was built the way god intended. Because of that my grades suffered and they ended up just blaming me for not "applying myself" or "being a distraction to myself" Now I am 25 and genuinely considering going and seeing a psych so I can try medications, just so I can actually have executive function and focus.. I can't read things without having to re-read it 4 or 5 times to even process what I just read, and I am constantly aware of what NEEDS to get done, but I can't for the life of me get it done. It affects my day to day life, and I hate it, but I have no answers.

I’d be an animagus. Transforming into loads of different animals would be very fun. I would love to eat all of my enemies as a grizzly bear 😂

I started on Strattera a couple years ago and the very first thing I noticed when I took it the first time was that, about an hour after I took it, the music in my head stopped. I always had a song stuck in my head, literally constantly. It was something I was barely even aware of by the time I got started on meds because it was such a constant in my life. I took the meds and an hour later my brain just… quieted down. The music stopped. I started following trains of thought from beginning to end. Something I feel like people don’t really Get with ADHD is that there is no such thing as “limiting distractions”. The distractions are me. I am the distraction. Because I am a brain inside of a body and the brain is the reason I am distracted. But since I started taking meds, I now have the ability to filter out distractions in my brain. I can hold focus consistently and I don’t have to struggle through constant “latching onto that thought, then latching onto this one, then getting back on topic, then latching onto a brand new one, wait what was I doing?” Meds aren’t for everyone but good lord am I glad that they are for me.

I got diagnosed at a crazy young age that I'm able to recognize as being pretty lucky in that regard. But the problem is, while I remember taking things like Concerta and stuff early on, as soon as I was put on adderall, and it worked, that was it. That was about 10-12 years ago. So you can IMAGINE the crap I went through during the shortage

Shoutout to Kelly for choosing an organization that helps foster and adopt out dogs from the South! It’s a serious problem down here. Many strays and crowded shelters/rescues. My city’s organization that sent animals up north ran out of funding and people. One of our fosters made it to Newfoundland and got adopted. So thank you
