I actually watched this in theaters when it was released and what a film! Julianne Moore is one of my favourite actors and she was dynamite! The ending was so cathartic!
She's a brilliant actress & absolutely stunning.

As a cinephile I quite enjoyed this. Never saw his original film. But I do love simple stories with complex characters and emotion. Those are the best films. By the way I was in the moment I read Julianne Moore was in this.

Perfectly put - simple story with complex characters. This little movie has some of the most authentic acting and dialog and writing I've ever encountered. Thoroughly enjoyable but also very easy to miss the premise.
Solid remake; but: The original is so much more daring, fresh, gripping, real. Basically, it is a near-to 1:1 remake, just made a bit more glamorous, slick, hollywoodesque and younger. The world did not need it essentially, but probably it needed it promotionally. So, it probably is a good thing it exists; and if it makes anybody watch the original, so much the better!
Go watch the original then, and you will be surprised how even more down-to-earth and real and superbly acted it is. The original was made by the same writer/director in 2013 and is simply called "Gloria".
Love seeing John Turturro as a romantic lead!

The soundtrack completely changes this movie into something I didn't expect to see. It's honestly incredible.
This looks very interesting, with just the right amount of romance and comedy, to keep the viewer satisfied. Romcoms are a must and you can't go wrong with Julianne Moore!
1:45 Seeing Gloria run down that warmly lit hotel conference hallway... For some reason, something lights up in me, something is tapped into there. It makes you feel like life is happening right now and you're apart of it. That's a whole lot of feelings to digest for just two seconds of footage.
We need more films that show women as heroes and not victims. Love Julianne Moore and what a great choice for her leading man, John Turturro! Can’t wait to see it!
We already have them. And some are incredibly great, such as Roma, yet so many women (and men) crapped all over Roma with their negative comments saying it was boring garbage. So maybe we don't need more such films. The mass population just doesn't get it, nor care.

Women are very much heroes. And as a man, I pray for each one to be strong in the coming years. I'm a Julianne can myself, saw her latest one two days ago and yes JULIANNE MOORE ROCKS! Stay safe yourself, ma'am, and don't let anyone cut you down for being a strong woman....not even if, at times, that guy were me. I was afraid of strong women for a long time. Seeing films like Gloria Bell has helped a lot! Glad you love Jules as I have! Love always, and good luck!

I saw chilean version and I liked it. I would like see this movie because I love Julianne Moore.
It IS kinda nice watching Julianne Moore reprise this role. John Turturro is not a bad actor either, to say the least. But for me, the original was much more impressive, this remake seems a bit too stuck in a rut to me. The original's cast and choice of location seemed so much more REAL to me and made for a fresher viewing experience. This re-shot movie doesn't go out of its way to add some new layer. It just smoothes out a bit of what made the original special to me. Not really dumbed down, but a bit americanized, it filed down some possibly jarring edges that made the original stuck beneath the skin; for instance the lovemaking/sex scenes. They seem a bit more formulaic, sanitized and glamourized here, more like what you would expect from a movie; in the original they were even more of a characterisation of who the characters are. I know it sounds nitpicky, and it probably is. But as much as I like watching Julianne Moore and John Turturro, this one pales in comparison to the Chilean version.

Julianne Moore displays every emotion possible in this film, Oscar worthy maybe. It was a film trying to be funny using serious Middle Age Brake Down issues. The final scenes are the best of the film.For an older actress, well she still got it sex appeal wise, oh my that bare skin cat is just something else.

Torturro's film, Fading Gigolo, was perfection. He stars and directs. He has a way.... So does Tommy Lee Jones when he directs. Never miss their work as directors.

You'll be hard-pressed to find a better, more complete performance this year than Julianne Moore in the title role. "Not much" happens, but so much happens.
As much as I love Julianne Moore: Please watch the original "Gloria" (2013); Paulina García shines even more in it!

As much as I love Julianne Moore, I can't imagine her doing better than the Latin American actress that did it first in 'Gloria'. I'd like to hear some people's thoughts that saw both movies.
To me, the original is better in comparison. If you don't know the original, this remake will probably be a solid if somewhat lengthy film. It is more of a reprise than a remake, really, in that it doesn't add any more layers of meaning or so... It is also a bit less gritty and down-to earth, visually. So, basically it remains kinda true to the original, but it lacks a bit of its daring and freshness (and thus suspense). Maybe someone watching the remake first will experience it differently, though. That's just my impressions from watching both at the cinema when they came out and thus with more or less six years in between. I don't have a recent 1-on-1 comparison.
I saw the original a couple of months ago and I too love Julianne but the original made me feel more the characters, I'll go with the original version, although Julianne was awesome here too

Just saw this with my BFF. We were both perplexed as to what happened in some parts of the movie. When he said he would be right back in Vegas did he fly home without her? Why are there no movies with happy endings anymore? 🥵

Some of it is a 1:1 remake, much of it really. It does work, but the original has way more edge to it.
