Texas and California working together...now you know it's fiction
while this movie looks really good, it's clear they kind of punted on being very realistic because they wanted both side to watch the movie. if it was clear that this was a Red Vs. Blue situation, then they would have to figure out who the "good side" was for the sake of the story. this is actually a pretty good move on their part because now the movie won't be seen as much through the prism of real-world politics.

Its a cop out so they don't get accused of making this a red state v/ blue state movie...Because there is no way in hell there is a scenario where Blue California and Red Texas team up to take on DC. I'm sure it'll make sense in whatever alternative-univese they have this in, but IRL? Never.

Stephen McKinley Henderson was like the lord of the old America in this movie imo. All knowing and a symbol of the old ways of an America that fell. Some crazy symbolism! All acting was really good in this film. And man, Jesse Plemons' acting was on-point so cold and crazy in such a momentary scene. See this movie it is quite unique!

A former friend of mine was deep into the MAGA movement and accused me of not being pro American. Gotta say that I completely disagree. Dialogue honestly made me uncomfortable at times or was just uninteresting, the parts where they tried to be funny just lacked any humor, and the only redeeming quality about the movie was the action at the end and the visuals.

For everyone saying it’s contrived that Texas and California teamed up, remember that the Soviet Union and the United States teamed up at one point. Political alliances are based off convenience and mutual goals, not driven purely by ideological congruence. If in fictional reality two states wanted to secede from the United States, this wouldn’t be the most unlikely pairing.
Except that California would be _very_ wary about being invaded by Texas as soon as the secession was done.

A civil war would be very bad for America. Their wouldn’t be two sides. The military would be disbanded very quickly as soldiers would leave specially the war fighters. Killing Americans for the government isn’t something we signed up for. National guard would probably play along for a while but wouldn’t last long. We would turn into Yemen with 100 war lords constantly fighting each other. Foreign powers moving in to take advantage of the situation claiming territory.
This is actually the end game for the democrats. For the new world order to rise america must fall which can only happen within. The United Nations has already made a plan 10 years ago for this situation and how to treat and enslave us which is called Agenda 21. If you don’t believe me, just google agenda 21 Glenn beck even made a book about what life would be like if agenda 21 was activated.

This movie is not about north vs south or west vs east, Texas and California are just two random states. It's about the reporters who are ready to risk and loose their lifes for the photo of the century. It's a sort of "I was there, no matter what it costs". The end looks like the Soviets entering Hitler's bunker in 1945, and also then there was a reporter risking his life to take the picture.
Sorry to disappoint you, but the famous picture of the russian soldiers holding the sovjet flag on top of the Berlin Reichstag was staged. Just like that equaly famous pictures of the Marines on Iwo Jima.

I just saw the movie a few minutes ago in theatres and I must say. The movie dose not disappoint, It brought what the trailer promised, with a little deviations of course. It's action was so much better the most actions movies today, the pacing was amazing, the portrayal of war felt grounded and all of this pulled me into the movie. It was a blast from start to end and if your looking for a different type of war movie this is it. If you loved or liked the trailer then I recommend you to see the movie. it is something I hop more movies take note from, I know I will

My question is this: In the trailer they depicted the scene where a soldier is holding a gun asking what type of American are you. I agree there are two kinds of Americans. My question is what is the films depictions of the two types of Americans. I am really curious to know. Also, there’s no way in hell California and Texas are teaming up together that’s completely fiction. Just watched it in the theaters. The movie has a very serious tone to it. Its slow paced and is climactic towards the end. In the movie the US president looks like he is the vilain, with the states in open revolt against Washington. There are two apparent factions, and you get mentions of perhaps another. Anyhow the movie culminates with the capture of DC.
"I would rather be first in a Village than second in Rome."
The craziest part of this trailer is them saying Texas and California are on the same team. I would’ve thought those would’ve been the two team captains for the opposing sides 😅

I'm not American. I am Spanish, but we also suffered a civil war in 1936, where brothers killed each other. The trailer has shocking moments, like simply the flag with only 2 stars, or the moment when it asks "what kind of American are you?" Despite not seeming like a really deep movie, it does seem very promising and interesting, so I will definitely watch it.
I'm an American and our country did have a Civil War from 1861-1864. The entire South, including Texas, declared themselves as an independent country called the Confederate States of America. Brother against Brother. Father against Son. Americans against Americans.

The idea of all things must come to an end is idea that can be easily contradicted when all existence never solved the riddle of why we are all here.

A civil war irl would be devastating for both sides, but given the support for Democrats is dwindling it's probably imminent. It's not gonna be "oh hey look big battles!" it's gonna be more like a mix of many different Wacos all over, with a bit of the Bush Wars and Afghanistan mixed in.
