Ari Aster has a really weird sense of humour but we need more people like him.
The ending honestly made me cry, because I related to Dani and the emotional dilemma she was going through. But she found catharsis, peace, and happiness with herself by letting go...albeit in a fucked up manner.
My boyfriend defended Christian, I defended Dani. Funnily enough we broke up 2 days after seeing Midsommar lmao
This is literally the coolest thing ever. I noticed a lot of people who have been traumatized by abuse actually found this movie to be pretty healing and cathartic, myself included

Five years ago Fincher scared all married couples with “Gone girl”, now Ari Aster warned every guy with “Midsommar”.
And here I am single af and genuinely happy.
*Fincher, and I think Midsommar warns both Guys and girls in Toxic relationships. For the girls, it's the realization that they're in a toxic relationship. For the guys, it warns them that if they keep being an asshole, they'll end up in a bear suit on fire

This film was very weird, yes. But, it was also a very well made and beautiful film. Old Scandinavian culture and Viking rituals were very interesting and insane lol. Gotta love the Norse.

While there's no real bear of the marriage, therapy is always a helpful tool for herculean task that is making two people get along and vibe until they die.
