he defeated bisping who was nowhere near the best middleweight at that time, and defended it 0 times, leaving the division backlogged with contenders, after he got an underserved shot
@@MrStruggle He defeated Bisping in a title fight, who had an arguably fluke win against Rockhold to win said title, then retired shortly after. He definitely deserves a spot on this list.

Imagine putting GSP or Conor or Eddie Alvarez on this list of the Worst Champions....calling it controversial would have been better....but this title just doesn't fit for me
Calling those champions who didn't defend their title is weird. If they managed to defeat at that time current champion without any controversy, he or she cannot be considered one of the worst champions (McGregor declasses Eddie, GSP won after 4-year-retirement). Soo..... how can they be on this list? Montanio and Jermaine deserve this status, but definitely not Connor and GSP

Conor didn't defend either title. People like Ferguson, Khabib, Max Holloway, Jeremy Stephens, Charles Olivera, and Nate Diaz were all just left Waiting for a title shot that never came because Conor didn't defend. HE DIDN'T DEFEND ONCE. Yeah his rise was impressive but being champion is about staying on the mountain just as much as it is getting there
The fact that GSP and Conor were ineffective for their respective divisions doesn’t mean the fit into the category of “worst champions”. They won their belts in impressive way against legit competition
You are a champion AFTER you get the belt. Not before
who did gsp beat at middleweight? bisping? in a division that had prime romero, whittaker, jacare, and rockhold, beating bisping isnt exactly the greatest win to become champ
@Rodrigo It's a pretty backwards way to judge GSP on the people he didn't fight. He convincingly won the belt at MW even if Bisping wasn't the strongest champion. No way he is the best champ at MW but to say he is among the worst is ludicrous. He retired because of health reasons, not of a lack of passion to fight.
Stripped of or Vacated every title he won. So Connor was the 90’s Shawn Michaels of the UFC. 😂
Some of these entrants are certainly worthy as among the worst UFC champions but some of these entrees are absolutely ridiculous. I don't throw this term around a lot but this is a proper "casual" list of worst UFC champions if there ever was one.

@matthew 10805 I don't think that submitting Michael Bisping at his prime at the third round is something that can make him a bad champ.
Gsp accepted that fight with bisping knowing he would most likely win and that he would vacate the belt immediately. The ufc was also wary of this. And sure enough he wins and comes up with bs excuse that he has ulcerative colitis and needs to retire
@matthew 10805 So he is a mid middleweight champ ? I don't know what is worse between retiring just after a title fight win or getting his title stripped multiple times for failing USADA tests either.

Conor wasnt the champion until they wrapped the belt around him. He literally did nothing as champion of 2 weight classes so yes he deserves his spot on this list.

Carla Esparza Has both championship belts from UFC...To me ALL Champions who achieved that... Earned life long respect. Granted most of the fighters who have done this have been in the UFC for a while and been able to capture both belts... Karla has been in some pretty boring fights but she has Been able to Win both belts... She is up there with Amanda Nunes in my opinion.

Jessica’s ko of Rose will always bring a smile to my face. Rose has been so lucky in the ufc with how many chances she’s been given. Truly a fighter who’s been given special treatment due to their appearance. And Esparza beat her twice which is embarrassing 😂

You can think whatever, but I can’t see Alvarez doing that. I think it’s more likely that the immense pressure of the moment got to his head and caused him to not fight his fight.

Those 2 wins alone are enough to be considered the goat unlike every other regular yes man champions conor is the unicorn 😂
@@Ripfire777 Yet right after he won it from Aldo, he moved up a division instead of actually attempting to defend his title like a real champion would. At least BJ Penn when he moved up to fight GSP at UFC 94 had at least a title defense against Sean Sherk at UFC 84. Winning the belt is important but what is truly more important to the legacy of a champion is title defenses, Conor attempted ZERO.

@@Ripfire777 Casuals?, I have been watching since UFC 10. No other fighter got the amount of favoritism that Conor got. Anderson Silva who is considered the greatest Middleweight of all time tried to get a boxing match with the great Roy Jones. That was after Anderson had multiple title defenses, something which Conor never attempted, and won fights in 2 weight classes.
Conor fought at 145, 155, and 170 and won two world titles in two divisions. What fighter did that? Khabib never fought out of 155 and failed at making weight more than once. Khabib is insanly overrated.
Yet he never defended either of his belts, unlike Khabib.
Calling Conor the worst champion is a disrespect. He bring a lot of money in the UFC.

Without McGregor there is no UFC
Jon Jones, and Ngannou believed that same thing. Look at where they are now. Mcgregor is a great fighter, and a legend of the sport, but his time at the very top of the sport has passed unless he comes back and starts beating the best again. The UFC makes these fighters, not the other way around. There will always be a next guy or gal in line to take over, especially at that level of competition.

UFC have been mainstream since 2005 well before Connor. Sure Connor brought it to new levels, but a lot of that had nothing to do with MMA (fight with Mayweather).
