Anyone notice how in every trailer the "new" character they introduce absolutely dominate in their trailers but the next season trailer they get absolutely bodied

When a new legend or weapon gets released, most people don't know how to counter said legend (or weapon).
Because they don't know what that legend or weapon does.
but when a legend has been out for a while, people learn how to counter it.
Just look at rampart, her turret at launch was extremely good because people didn't know how to counter it but after awhile they learned that they just needed to move a little to the side.

@@TheIronGabel exactly! One of pathfinders Jump lines is “hold your breath, if you have a respiratory system” it makes no sense how they take damage from gas
No one would play Caustic and Seer anymore because this three would counter both. Or the most would Play Path, ash and Reve (Im a Seer Main haha)
@@jackfish2706 corrosive substance, either damages their wirings or straight up damages their metal parts. I mean you say that, but it makes even less sense when fellow Caustic gets damaged by opposing Caustic, considering both wears a specialized gasmask designed for the nox gas.
By the end of the day, it's ludonarrative dissonance, or whatever that is. To achieve gameplay balance, lore would have to take a backseat in most instances. Who knows, perhaps the 'legends' fighting in the battlefield is just a green bodysuit human with mocap on who takes on whichever legends they 'picked', explaining why there can be multiple legends and why abilities affects everyone equally regardless of their biological composition.
