    Thank you so much. Had watched so many other videos suggesting ways to attack the issue through the wheel arch, or via a screwdriver through the grille, and was resigned to working through this until I saw this, and method 1 worked at the second time of asking. Latch on the passenger side was rusted and stiff, but loosening it through WD40 and pressure from a screwdriver, and all back to normal. Really great video, saved me so much time and potentially cash, too.

    Fantastic ideas, I almost gave up hope and started to take apart the entire underside of my BMW to get at the cable, but just pushing on the hood while someone pulls the latch worked beautifully.
    Thanks

    Ok this is great. I always struggled to open it, often taking 15 minutes of struggle and trial and error. Now I see, pushing down a bit and getting someone to pull the lever works like charm. Wonder if we can do something so 2 people are not required to open it.
    Thanks Anyways. Atleast I now know sure way to open the bonnet.
    PS: Stupid BMW, why they have to make it so complex ๐Ÿ˜Š

      I'm having this problem with my e36, if you figure it out let me know lmao

    • @eilo4213
      @eilo4213 3 ๋…„ ์ „

      @@jamespaar6649 Yep sussed it man you know the little "rubber hood bumper" things on each side of your bonnet that work as like stoppers sort of, they can be adjusted and I accidentally adjusted mine when I was cleaning my engine bay and my bonnet closed unevenly and got jammed on it. all you've got to do is get a screw driver inbetween the your bonnet and the one that's jammed and pry it open. Make sure your bonnet isn't latched when you're trying to pull it open (hold the bonnet latch unlocked with your hand when pulling bonnet (not the latch under your dash) and try get a screwdriver under the rubber bumper on the side of your bonnet that jams. they should look like rubber bullet/ bulb type things here's a link to one. www.aliexpress.com/i/4000190087597.html (it's upside down in photo) If you get real stuck I'll take a video to send you lmao. That's what the problem was for me anyway your's might be different so if it doesn't seem like it's working don't bend your bonnet haha

    • @eilo4213
      @eilo4213 3 ๋…„ ์ „

      Also if it is the rubber bumper, once you get the bonnet open make sure you adjust the uneven bumper before closing it otherwise you'll have the same problem again (make it the same as the one on the other side) easy as to adjust just turn them

    • @eilo4213
      @eilo4213 3 ๋…„ ์ „

      @@jamespaar6649 Oh also these bumpers are on the upper radiator support frame on either side not on your actual bonnet, the bonnet rests on them when it closes
