Yeah imagine the perspective of the people stuck in the water under the metals when Batman lit that flare from a distance then started walking slowly towards them in the water (I imagine he was rushing but the water slowed him down) it's like when he was going to the criminals early in the movie though he was surrounded by darkness then and popped out of the shadows but this time he was helping people and came to the rescue bringing a light. The people must have been shook while he was coming to them hence their reaction when Batman pulled the metal out.

I absolutely loved the Batmobile chase scene. When I went to see the movie there was only 3 people (including myself) in the theater and we all chuckled out loud. We didn't know each other but it was apparent that we all enjoyed the chase. Another part of the movie I enjoyed was a "big picture" concept, in that Batman didn't take his mask off and share his identity with anyone like the previous Batman movies. I hate the Batman & Spiderman movies when everyone seems to know the heroes secret identity. When I started reading Batman comics as a child (in the 60's) the Caped Crusader's secret identity was one of the things that made him so cool to me was only his butler knew who he was. The tease of his identity is important to his mystic. I hope the producer stretch that out as far as possible.

Alright, a few thoughts I want to jot down while going though this video:
I don't know much about Ave Maria but iirc a maria is either a sea or lake in Italian and maybe Latin, hence the marias on the moon discovered by Galileo(again iirc), so when Riddler is singing it in his cell I figured that to be a hint towards his plan with blowing up the seawall to flood the city(which in itself might be meant to harken back to his flooding of the city in New 52's Zero Year arc).
When they're going through his apartment, they read in one of his notebooks the line "I know now what I must become" which I felt may have been a reference to the "I shall become a bat" line from an origin story or two of Batman. Also, while the "I know the real you" scrawlings on the wall were definitely to tease and set up for the possible reveal of him knowing his identity, in universe I feel it was less of Riddler trying to figure out who he is and moreso him cryptically writing about how he knows the "real him" is the one wearing the mask.

Yessss. The trailers got me thinking he knew his identity and when that was revealed I was like "OMG THIS DUDE IS JUST FUCKING INSANE" 😂😂😂 I loved it.

He definitely knew. Why would he tell anyone else? He likes to be the smartest person in the room in the comics and he knows Bruce's identify then too, he holds the secret for himself.

@EmergencyAwesome, did you catch the TV news reporter's comment just before the scene switch to Riddler and Joker? "...and a mysterious masked man was spotted pulling people out of the rubble..." She wasn't talking about Batman, because everyone knew of Batman by this point in the story. This was a hint to someone entirely new. Apologies if you already covered it and I missed it.
Favorite moment: Batman's theme music IS my favorite moment. The opening train station scene, when he appears from the shadows and we get his theme music for the first time. That score is so awesome, it has the potential to be as memorable as the Imperial March(Darth Vader's theme), but so much better. The music is so intense, and it's matched perfectly with Batman's intensity. The timing was wonderful, building up like its own rising action and cresting when Batman pummels the thug's face. I felt connected to the story through the music. My favorite Batman movie ever, and I never thought anyone would top Bale.

I’m confused: I was under the impression the reason why Bruce’s mother went insane is because her husband - Bruce’s dad - has an affair with Mrs. Arkham and he fathered the Riddler, and that’s why he ended up in an orphan, because neither family wanted to raise him.
So in essence, that made Bruce & Riddler half brothers.
    Am I missing something here?

The DEFINITIVE Batman Movie!! It has everything, the dark atmosphere, the detective side of Batman, an awesome Batmobile set piece, a perfect villain, good side characters, and of course Batman actually kicking ass!

Perfect villain? Lol no. Riddler wasn't all that. And the morons decided to hash out Penguin, Catwoman, and Falcone again. It's repetitive. They should've given us something new. There's no real originality in it.

This was such a great movie from start to finish. I don't know if I could pick one specific scene that would be my favorite, although I really did enjoy seeing Batman wipe out after using his gliding suit. It just showed where he was in his early stage of becoming Batman and figuring out how to navigate through his city. Such a good movie

The contact lenses was straight from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's run on The Court of Owls. Speaking if which, the orphanage theme was kinda teasing Court of Owls, because Lincoln March, the face The Court put as their "puppet" was there once. He was even teased as Bruce Wayne's brother.
Martha Wayne was actually a Kane in canon. She was an Arkham from Geoff John and Gary Frank's run on Batman: Earth One. The movie took heavily on those series, too. Just like when Thomas Wayne was campaigning as mayor.
The dialogue with Alfred in the hospital: "I could teach you how to fight..." was also from Earth One series, Alfred being the one who taught Bruce how to fight in that series.
The founding fathers of Gotham are Wayne, Kane, Elliot, and Cobblepot.

    Loved:
How batman always emerged from the shadows as if he actually was the darkness coming to life.
How he only uses his motorcycle for the first act, covertly going from location to location, untill he unleashes the batmobile and uses it for the rest of the film (other than the final scenes)
How batman just ATE bullets. Literally dude took 20-30 shots to the head, chest and arms and took a shotgun blast at point blank to his trunk...like dude REALLY doesnt care what happens to him does not fear death.

I love how in every comment section about this movie you find people talking about their favourite scene
Whether it‘s the opening scene with the criminals being scared of the dark and him taking down the thugs, or him becoming a symbol of hope in the end, guiding the citizens through the water and helping them, with his monologue in the background or the car chase with the penguin, the list goes on
It just shows how much this film resonated with the fanbase and i personally have to say, i think this movie is the most batman-y movie and honestly, my favourite batman movie so far. Yes, heath ledger was absolutely brilliant, and the dark knight is still in my all time favourite movies, but this one just brought out the comic nerd in me a little bit more. Gotham, the dark and gritty vibes, seeing his detective side, the way he fought and looked, the penguin
It all just felt like it was taken directly from the comics and arkham games and brought to life
Two scenes i also want to highlight are the murder of the mayor - home invasions are terrifying to me and this scene and riddler‘s character overall felt so „real“ and creepy because there are actually people like him out there. The zodiac killer obviously comes to mind here
And the other scene is after the car chase with the penguin (which was probably the best car chase scene in any movie i have seen), when he walks towards penguins crashed car, with the fire in the background and his mysterious and menacing theme playing. That scene was so badass and it just really felt like that‘s the batman i know and love from the comics

It's hard to pick a favorite scene because man, it was all so so good! I think instead of a favorite, i'm going to give a top 3 haha in no particular order
    1. The beginning season where the riddler was creeping in the background and the light was reflecting off his glasses. Made his eyes look glowing. At that moment, I knew this was going to be *chef's kiss*
    2. Pretty much every fight scene because the choreography was amazing!
    3. When the woman held on to Batman's arm and you see that Gotham needs more than vengeance.
Would LOVE to watch it again!!!

I think my favourite moment was the scene where Batman was going to see Carmine Falcone and it was pitch black except for the firing guns!!! Or the intro scene for Batman where he talks about how the fear of him lurking in the dark keeps people in check, and the suspense of looking into the dark and waiting for him to appear. Or the car chase scene was incredible. Or when Bruce was talking to Alfred in the hospital and they had that really touching moment. Or when Batman was helping people out of the water and leading them to safety. Or when Batman was talking to Riddler in Arkham, and you can literally feel the relief wash over him. Or any of Batman and Gordon's low-key buddy cop moments. Honestly I think the entire movie was my favourite scene. I love Christian Bale so much as Batman but Robert Pattinson really exceeded my expectations and I feel like the role makes so much sense for him.

His cowl seemed to be made of leather outwardly but who noticed that in one or two scenes it deflected some bullets and he even got knocked out for a little while (at the recycling plant and at the Gotham Square Garden fight where he almost fell from the roof)? Maybe there's some protective underlining to it.
There was a mistake in props regarding his gauntlet fins when he tries to hush Selina down when the duty cop was entering the room - they were too flexible (Perhaps, I'm wrong and they're just straps).

Personally, I think my favorite part was the escape from the gotham police dept.
The Grappling Hook up the stairs was perfect followed by Batman not being completely comfortable with jumping off the building with the glide suit. You can see he jumped out of need. Then being unable to stop properly and crashing. It was just perfect.
