안녕하세요! 사막낙타였던 사람입니다. 영상 오랜만에 올리네요!
졸업작품으로 만든 애니메이션입니다. 못할 줄 알았는데 어찌어찌 졸업은 했네요! 와!
1학기에 구상하고, 2학기에 본격적으로 영상 제작에 들어갔으니까.
어찌보면 1년내내 이것만 열심히 작업을 한 셈이네요.
순간순간 번뜩 떠올리는 것만 파바밧 빠르게 만들고 그렇지 않으면 손에서 놓아버리는 성격이었는데 (게으른거죠ㅋ;)... 졸작을 하면서는 하기 싫을 때에도 꾹 참고 붙잡고 있어야 했었으니까... 달리기가 아니라 마라톤을 완주한 기분이라서 기분이 참 묘해요.
손에서 놓고 있던 작곡도 그래도 처음부터 끝까지 오롯이 내 손으로 만들어보고 싶다. 라는 집념으로 붙잡고 뚱땅뚱땅 만들어봤는데 어떤지 아직까지도 확신은 잘 안서도 ㅠㅋㅋㅋ 꽤 근사한 것 같아요.
애니메이션은 찰나의 아름다움이 모여 만들어진 것 같아요. 눈깜빡임. 고개를 이리저리 돌리는 행동. 손짓. 그 모든 순간 있잖아요. 그걸 엮어서 이야기로 만들어내는 느낌? 멈춰있는 그림들을 한데 모으니 그림을 살아서 움직이게 만들어요. 그게 참 신기하더라구요. 대학 3년을 다니면서, 졸작 작업 들어가기 직전까지도 아무런 감흥이 없었는데 그냥 만들어가는 과정이 즐거웠어요. 멋진 것 같고. 그런 찰나의 아름다움을 만들 수 있는 게 참 감사하고 기뻤어요.
부족한 게 많은 애니메이션이에요. 그래도 스토리가 있는 단편 애니메이션을 내가 기획하고 또 완성한 건 이게 사실 처음이라, 조금은 많이 부족할지라도 뿌듯하고 자랑스럽기도 해요. 그러니 예쁘게 봐주셨으면 좋겠어요! 감사합니다!

단 한번도 어떠한 분들의 "정확한 유튜브 주소를 포함한 크레딧이 명시되지 않은" 2차 가공 및 재배포 등을 허락한 적이 없고 앞으로도 그렇습니다.
여러분의 댓글과 피드백은 힘들 때마다 초콜릿처럼 꺼내먹고있습니다. 제 손을 떠난 작품에 대한 평가는 온전히 여러분의 것이기 때문에 어떠한 내용이라도 행복합니다. 사실... 제 작품은 손에서 떠나보내야 비로소 완성이 된다는 말이 최근에서야 부쩍 실감하게 되었답니다.🥰 여러분 저의 영감(노인아님)...

I really appreciate your continued attention and love to the work I've created.
Seems like people are cropping the part of this work and re-posting it without permission, so just to inform everyone that I have never gave anyone a permit to edit nor to repost, and will never do so in the future as well. If you happened to see any of the repost showing no proper credit directs to this clip- may I please ask you to report. I would really appreciate your support and will be encouraged to create more work in the future. :)
No sequel was considered from the beginning and I would never make a story to continue from how it ended (might end up using the character again like CLAMP does), so it is totally up to you of imagining if she will live happily ever after... Or maybe struggles again. Who knows. I am actually quite impressed with everyone's comments, some are having even amazing meanings 😎 Once I have opened to public, comments and critics are totally out of my hand and am quite happy for that.

I finally understood why they choose the ocean as a background, the sea is a representation where she drowning cause she was in a suffocating life and she couldn't accept and love her own looks, so she tries to become like colorful like others. And when she fell, it is the darkest moment of her life and she fall into depression. When the glowing fish (person) guide her, it was hard to heal and move on so there is a lots of diffulties she had to challenge in order to heal. But all of it was worth it and she finally praise herself when she look at the mirror and able to see the colorful world better than ever before. She learnt that she doesn't need the mirror to see the world better, all she had to do is open a new light for herself to see the colorful world. Sometime in life, you have to appreciate at least the little thing that didn't come into your mind

With the small mirror she could only see a small part of herself. Unsatisfied with her lack of colors, she relied on external things to look pretty on that small frame.
The problem of relying on external things to define your own value is that you may lose them in an instant. Which happened when she lost her mirror and fell into the cave.
Only when seeing herself fully, with the large mirror, she could appreciate herself for who she is. Through self knowledge she discovered that all she needs to be special is within herself.

What I interpretted this as was the girl found beauty in others, and relied on the happiness of other people to feel good about herself. But when she was alone, or people were sad or avoiding her, she felt empty inside. She felt dark and hated herself. But someone (the glowing fish) helped her find who she was (the mirror) and helped her to love herself without needing other people to feed her self worth. It was only then that she was able to truly love the world and to love being herself in that world.
It's a very beautiful animation, regardless of what ever the meaning behind it was.

That was genuinely one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen in my life! And that’s coming from a 19-year-old boy who should be focusing more on adult stuff rather than immersing himself in fantasy worlds like this one. Or at least that’s what society wants me to do.

It's almost like she needed to a mirror to reflect her own self on other people's perspective (colours) in order to feel beautiful or even accept how she looks. And when she lost it, she felt really worthless that even people (colours) seemed... clourless..and the world around her as well, and she stopped seeing beauty in anything.. and then that fish who could be a person, an inspiration, or a motivation, was just like light, that made her feel beautiful the way she is, she saw the bigger picture, of everything, including herself.. and once she started accepting herself, she even became able to see beauty in other people along with herself..
Appreciate the little things. Don't complain about the life u are given. Love urself. The world will brighten around u. That simple.

5분이라는 시간이 결코 아깝지 않은 작품이었습니다.
그림의 퀼리티나 연출에 부족함 그런 건 신경 쓰이지도 않았습니다. 그저 감탄만 할 뿐이었죠.
단순한 일러스트 하나 그리는데도 오래걸리는 것을 몇 백 장을 그려가면서 만들어낸 애니메이션.
감회가 새롭지 않을 수가 없겠지요. 좋았습니다.

뭔가 처음에는 귀엽고 이쁜 캐릭터랑 물고기들이 나와서 몰입하다가
마지막까지 보니 저는 처음에는 세상이 정말 아름답게 보이고 거울로 나 자신을 바라볼 수 있는 그런 사람이였는데
중반으로 갈수록 점점 암울해지고 세상이 어둡게 보이고 거울을 잃는 장면은 나 자신을 바라볼 수 없는 그런 어두운 장면이라고 생각하고
후반에 들어가면서 세상이 점점 환하게 비춰지면서 거울을 보며 나 자신을 바라볼 수 있게 되는 장면으로 저는 본 것 같어요
암흑기를 뭔가 다른 비유적표현으로 그린 것 같은 느낌이 들어서 멋있었어요
사람마다 해석이 다르겠지만 뭔가 이렇게 생각하면서 보니 또 하나의 재미를 느꼈습니다 !

Thank you for this animation. For the longest time, i have been trying to hide my insecurities in my appearance by letting myself look scruffy. Growing up, I have been envious of my older brothers long hair and full beard. I have been trying to look like him even though my beard still does not grow in nicely, and i really don't like having long hair for i don't have the patience to keep it nice. I look better with shorter hair and a mustache. I am going to shave and get a hair cut soon, and keep to what i look good in and am comfortable in. Thank you Dimlight.

No words needed, this is a beautiful animation and an exciting method of storytelling. To me this is highlighting the important idea of self -love and if you don't have that you feel alone and life seems not worth it. In everyone's life there is that friend, family member, media idol, that kind stranger or an internal realisation that you are amazing, that guides you back to the wonderful colours of life. Some don’t make it back and that hurts. Every life journey is vibrant it is how you paint your picture to show it counts.
This is really good, I cannot wait to see what you create next, what do you think is lacking ? From what I have seen it is amazing and inspiring. Well done on completing this project.
