that’s definitely a mouse, they have bigger ears and more round, big eyes, unlike rats which have very small ears and smaller eyes.
They're all just squeaky boiis in my eyes lolol. But yeah that's definitely a mouse not a rat. You can tell by the size too.

As a rat breeder, I can confidently say that is a mouse. Most likely a field mouse. Locate point of entry and patch it up, otherwise more critters will find their way in.

Love the rug but maybe a smaller size that cover just enough of the couch or middle area so your floors pop out and balance out because yours wood floors are beautiful and give it a bomb look to the room especially against the wallpaper
