If indeed April is innocent why should they sue Hyunjoo, her family and friends. There have been many videos that have spread in cyberspace. You can clearly see that they look like they don't care about Hyunjoo, they sometimes ignore her and let Hyunjoo eat alone even in front of the camera. Nobody tried to calm her down when she was holding back tears in the middle of the stage, I don't understand why DSP could sue Hyunjoo, who in fact is still an artist under DSP. They seem not to pay attention to her, if indeed the OP who claims to be Hyunjoo's brother spread fake news, DSP can give a convincing statement and deny all of that. Do you have much experience in social life? This is the kind of behaviour you only see among friends who are very comfortable with each other. Didn't you see Yena taking every opportunity to hug Chaekyung and hook her arm? It's when members are always polite to one another that they're probably not close.
Even if Hyunjoo was depressed and couldn't get along with the other members, it doesn't mean they were bullying her. As for the current lineup, i think, from watching a lot of their interactions, that they all genuinely get along well.

It could have been depression or other emotional issues that she already had before joining the group (hinted by Ajax's Yunyoung), or it could be poor health (hinted by DSP Media), or something else. Whatever it is, it could have been troublesome for the group regarding training or schedules, and at work people can't be understanding towards a weak link forever. Hyunjoo was always the least skilled in singing and dancing among them, that's a fact. Have you ever done a group project? Conflicts are very likely to arise. If all the other members were on bad terms with Hyunjoo, even if they didn't bully her, even if it was just cold shoulder or criticism, surely she'd be depressed (especially if she was already troubled). She probably complained to her family and friends, and those family and friends (the ones who reported this) heard only 1 side of the story (hers) and saw how she was suffering, naturally they'd be angry on her behalf, but it doesn't mean they are right to blame the other members.

I think it's true that Hyunjoo was depressed and unhappy while she was in April and complained to her family and friends. Choosing to be or not to be friends with someone, even if they have depression or poor health, is everyone's basic right.

But for, ex. Jimin, some people didn't really believe it in beginning until she confessed because she didn't look very rude on camera. She hid the bullying for 10 years, with the help of her company.

Things to remember:
A) Hyunjoo's family lives in Gwanak-gu, Seoul. Hyunjoo went to Gwanak Middle School.
B) Hyunjoo joined DSP in 2014 as an ACTRESS TRAINEE.
C) DSP Media is located in Gangnam, at Gangnam-gu, Nonhyeon-dong, 36-12 [서울특별시 강남구 논현동 36-12]. This is East of Gwanak-gu. It is 32 Minutes away from Gwanak Middle School, by bus (not including walking time).
D) Seoul National University Boramae Medical Center [서울특별시 보라매병원] is West of Gwanak Middle School and Northwest of central Gwanak-gu, Seoul. It is 14 minutes away from Gwanak Middle School by bus (not including walking time).
E) DSP to Boramae Medical Center is 43 minutes by bus (not including walking time).
F) There are 2 hospitals in Gangnam.
G) There are 7 other hospitals between DSP Media and Boramae Medical Center.
Proving Hyunjoo lied with her own "evidence" and allegations:
1) Hyunjoo's statement said she was "forced to live 24/7 with her perpetrators with no one to turn to for help". This means Hyunjoo always lived in the dorm, except on Holidays (as per a radio station broadcast interview in 2015 or 2016).
2) Hyunjoo's brother released 1/2 of Hyunjoo's medical document to prove Hyunjoo's alleged "extreme choice" on May 10, 2016.
3) April released their Spring Album April 27, 2016 (that's less than 2 weeks before ^ her "extreme choice").
4) If Hyunjoo were forced to live in the dorm, she certainly would have been "forced" to do so in the middle of their comeback.
5) Hyunjoo's medical report proves that she was taken to Seoul National University Boramae Medical Center [서울특별시 보라매병원].
7) If Hyunjoo were in the dorm when she did her "extreme choice" then her condition was not life threatening and she chose to go to a hospital closest to her house in Gwanak-gu to "recover" - but if it wasn't life threatening then was it really an "extreme choice"??????? No it wasn't. So if Hyunjoo were in the dorm then she lied about attempting an extreme choice.
8) But if Hyunjoo were living at home in Gwanak-gu, then she was taken to one of two hospitals near her family house, which means that Hyunjoo lied about being "forced to live 24/7 with her perpetrators with no one to turn to for help"
Pick the lie you want to believe - I think both are lies, I think Hyunjoo was living at home and I think she faked an "extreme choice" to get out of promoting for the Spring Album because she was already missing lots of practices as proven by multiple broadcasts between April 27 - May 12 where April appeared as 4 for their fan services videos and Tinkerbell choreography practice video. How can you bullied if you are not showing up? Go ahead and say "she missed practice BECAUSE SHE WAS BULLIED", but I'll prove to you that Hyunjoo is a habitual liar soon and so you shouldn't believe anything she says anyway.
Proving Hyunjoo's medical record is not proof of an "extreme choice".
1) F19.0 can be looked up on kcdcode.kr where you can see what the diagnosis actually is.
F19.0 Acute intoxication due to multiple drug use and use of other psychoactive substances
- Acute drunkenness due to multiple drug use and use of other psychoactive substances
- Bad trips due to multiple drug use and use of other psychoactive substances
- Drunkenness NOS due to multiple drug use and use of other psychoactive substances
- Pathological intoxication of multiple drug use and use of other psychoactive substances
- Trance and possession disorders in multiple drug use and use of other psychoactive substances intoxication
- Intoxication meaning poisoning(T36-T50)
2) Make note of the NOS. NOS means No Other Source. This means that they were willingly taken for a purpose OTHER THAN for an "extreme choice". Having "thoughts of extreme choices" IS A MEDICAL SOURCE for diagnosis.
3) Therefore, F19.0 precludes the diagnosis from being an "extreme choice". The doctors did not believe that the "medical emergency" was the result of an "extreme choice".
4) If doctors believed it were an "extreme choice" they would have used a code indicating the type of "extreme choice", and location.

9) Did Hyunjoo have a recovery period??? Or did she lie about her choice to get into acting where she always wanted to be.
10) August 21, 2016 April held their first concert "Dreamland" where they have two showings, an afternoon and evening showing.
11) During the first show April read Hyunjoo's "heartfelt letter" to the fans.
12) During the second show Hyunjoo was SEEN IN THE CROWD CHEERING ON APRIL and briefly JOINED APRIL ON STAGE TO ADDRESS THE FANS and apologies for not being able to join the activities still.
13) Look up hashtag "April1stConcert" on Twitter and IG to see a picture of Hyunjoo on stage. Multiple media outlets reported her presence, "cheering April from the crowd adding warmth."
14) Hyunjoo doesn't officially resign from April until October 29, 2016, 3 DAYS before Momin's Room release, to say she was going to focus on her acting career.
Me thinks that Hyunjoo just made it all up in her head to get away from being an idol because it was harder than being an actress............

Now for my 2 cent speculation:
Hyunjoo went to school to be an ACTRESS. Hyunjoo joined DSP as an ACTRESS TRAINEE. Hyunjoo always wanted to be an actress but DSP convinced her to join April instead (most likely for exposure because it's faster to get good acting parts when you have a fan base to leverage).
Hyunjoo debuted her acting career November 1, 2016 in a support role on Momin's Room, during her HIATUS from April. Between this and joining The Unit she didn't do very well landing parts. Hyunjoo wouldn't get her first starring role until the Witch Store on September 10, 2019, after Unity disbanded. Her reception was mediocre.
Then, Hyunjoo started to get jealous of April members because they had been debuting their own acting careers to INSTANT success while Hyunjoo was on The Unit. Naeun had 3 successful web dramas in 2 years - all 3 she was in the leading role (ATeen 1 & 2, and Extraordinary You).
The fact of the matter is that Hyunjoo always wanted to be an actress and if you watch her acting SHE SUCKS. I firmly believe that Hyunjoo was the jealous one because she relied on her looks to carry her lack of talent in anything else and it didn't carry her as far as she wanted. So she had to cut down April who had everything she wanted but wouldn't put in the actual work to accomplish.
Hyunjoo is a proven liar! Stop believing her!!

I have followed them since even before debut, and i think it's true that Hyunjoo could not get along with the other members, and there was some sort of conflict, but i don't think the other members were guilty of bullying. And after Hyunjoo left, from watching a lot of their interactions i think the 2 new members get along very well with the original members and they all genuinely like each other in the current lineup, like we see in this video.
