That little joke would honestly have been better if he had found a rupee and then proceeded to wear the Twilight Princess Magic Armor during Cloud's Omni-Slash, would have made Link invulnerable during the attack until he had run out of rupees.

@@Savagewolver Fairness is kind of subjective when it comes to Death Battles, and the worlds the fights take place in always seem to be a sort of amalgam world. Take the Ironman vs Lex Luthor battle for example, Tony literally owns the Bat Mobile, until it gets destroyed...well technically everything in that building was Pepper's in that battle, but you get what im saying. A rupee dropping from a random pot would have been totally in line with what Death Battle generally tends to do.

I mean if u were playing link and were in a boss fight and saw some pots in the corner, u would totally go and smash them 😅

@@leonelzubieta8636 Depends, Link and Cloud are decently matched, and neither here had access to literally all of their abilities or item, particularly since this is a Composite Link, his potential arsenal is massive. Infact if this Link had access to his full Composite Arsenal, he would be able to carry at the very least up to 4 bottled fairies, more if we use BotW/TotK inventory, each capable of rezing him, though not to full health, add Mipha's Grace and he gets rez'd and healed over full health, so thats at minimum 5 auto rez's since he doesnt have to actively use them. Then he has access to other armors, with all of BotW/TotK outfits he could be immune to fire with the Flamebreaker set or immune to Electricity with the Rubber Set, or immune to cold and freezing with the Snowquil Set. He even has two different options for temporary invulnerability with two forms of Magic Armor, with the Wind Waker one being more of a spell that drains his Magic Meter while the Twilight Princess version is literal armor that buys invulnerability by draining his Rupees, both of which would have allowed him to survive the Omni Slash. There is also Link's Mirror Shield, which will more or less absorb and reflect practically any magic thrown at it, or can be used to redirect light and blind Cloud. I will admit i know far more about the various Link's than i do Cloud, so i cant say what he might have to negate any of Links abilities or items ive mentioned.
Honestly Link and Cloud have had two fights and each has won a fight, so its fairly fair to say that the fight could go either way, regardless of what items or abilities they would have access to. Its not like a Superman vs Goku fight where Goku can't touch Pre-Crisis Supes.

I gotta keep Dante/Bayonetta, and the boxing match at #1 & #2. But this is up there definitely

Link isn't only faster than lightning, he's FAR faster, executing upwards of 15 attacks within the span of one lightning strike. He'd absolutely wreck Cloud.

It's because they're trying to click bait views. They keep track of what's trending and then if there's a recent game/show/movie that gets trending, they repost a battle from the past and slap the trending items name on it. Biggest example when they reposted Sonic VS Flash but slapped PARAMOUNT PLUS on it when it's a entirely different character. Its really stupid

But I mean, realistically he would've already had an advantage anyways due to being able to stop time for himself on a whim, be it to slash or to use anything in his inventory, so he could've easily defended against an omnislash by putting on his magic armor.@@RealCFZ

@@SpikeTheWolfits not because they made a remake so much later they just changed their minds when the remake was done. They talked about it in the cast. They usually do remakes if they feel its worthy to waste a episode slot for it and have the resources they want for said remake. Considering how Link vs Cloud was one of the more needed remakes, they felt like doing it again, but dont expect them doing stuff like idk Gaara vs Toph again instead of giving them new mus, and thats already if they even want said characters back in the first place. But they do talk on how the older seasons have thousands of mistakes

Lol. We could also turn this around. Gotta give the Link fanboys credit. They rationalize however they can, because they can't accept that their guy loses.
Seriously though, the original fight was their first time having an RPG character in DB, and they didn't know how they wanted to handle them, due to the nature of player choice in the games. This resulted in a MASSIVELY nerfed version of Cloud, who had none of his shear power, and almost none of his arsenal. This resulted in Link taking the win. They then revisited the fight with updated standards, in which case they had a far more accurate representation of Cloud (still not perfect, but far better than the first one they did.). Because they used an accurate version of Cloud, they had to change the outcome, because Cloud is stronger, faster, more durable, at least comparably skilled, and has an arsenal that directly counters everything Link has that could have been dangerous otherwise, while simultaneously giving Cloud access to multiple options that Link has no defense against.
