okay but like... i was born in 2006 and i watched popeye all my childhood. i even had a borderline unhealthy obsession with spinach when i was younger and another with milk that hasnt gone away. and i know that me knowing popeye isnt just some crazy thing for my generation, cus ill hum the "popeye the sailor man" bit of the theme song and sometimes my peers know what im humming. not everyone does, but not many of my peers get all of my references. thats just normal. its like saying that gen z has no clue who lucy is. just because we werent alive when the idea first popped into someones head, doesnt mean we arent aware of what spawned from that idea.
