Yeah Isabell, I had the same feeling although I didn’t play this game. I just watched people play it. But, the more logical course of action would’ve been to pretend to side with Heisenberg, then take him out later, if need be. Well, at least that’s how I feel. But, they want another boss battle, so that’s why there isn’t the option to choose. You’re supposed to take out all four Lords to get the pieces of Rose back. Heisenberg doesn’t want you to do that necessarily. Well, unless he can manipulate you into using your daughter to kill Miranda…so yeah. But, I also feel it would’ve been more interesting to choose. So, maybe there could’ve been a different result, based on your decision.
@@Ashley80005 The only issue is that human beings aren't logical. We're illogical. Ethan is only focused on saving his daughter. Emotions can cloud judgement and rational thinking. It upsets me that so many people don't seem to get that.
Thing with that is... I might be in the minority that completely agrees with Ethan's decision.
Heisenberg tortured him, frequently belittles others, is an all-around psychopathic asshole, and exclusively refers to Rose like a weapon, an object, instead of a child (which would piss any parent off).
Ethan has zero reason to trust Heisenberg and is (unsuccessfully) being strong-armed by the guy into doing his dirty work, and teaming up with Heisenberg would only really lead to Heisenberg betraying Ethan and trying to take over the world anyway.
While you could make the argument that Ethan could at least work with him at the moment and buy time to double-cross him later (which would have admittedly led to a cool moment where Ethan kills two birds with one stone), after all the mind games Heisenberg put him through already, I really don't blame Ethan for telling him to piss off, and it's unlikely for any kind of double-crossing plan of Ethan's to work, anyway.

@@animdalf9178 To my knowledge they made village less scary on purpose because 7 was basically JUST horror. It was also the first game they went to first person in, incidentally.
Village is more like trashy popcorn horry/slasher, which I personally found pretty fun
Capcom has multiple people who work on the RE franchise that have different definitions on what RE is. When making RE7, they focused on the "Horror" side of RE as that's what RE is to some of the devs. Others think RE is "Intense" so you get games like RE2R and RE4. Finally some think RE is about "Action" so you get games like RE6. RE8 tried to be all of them in multiple areas, but mostly like RE4.

I'm torn on the empty drawers thing, I think they are there for a situation where you are frantically checking drawers to deal with a threat that is bearing down on you which sounds awesome. The reality is just that it never happens that way, most players have combed the area and checked all the drawers by the time they've run into the threat. The game really needs to manufacture the situation to have it work out the way it seems to be intended.
Connor sees it more as a "waste of time" and doesn't care about immersion really. He's the kinda guy that just wants to play the game. Puts story and immersion to the backside compared to the gameplay. If those things get in the way of the overall gameplay, to him it's a negative. From my perspective it looks to be the case.
i think that's one of the ways in which the devs hoped it would go but not the main one. i think the main reason for the empty drawers is to create a feeling of scarcity. if every single time you saw an interaction prompt you got some materials, you'd feel like you're constantly finding loot but by adding all the empty ones in it creates a feeling that there are few resources and you need to use them wisely while scouring the map if you really wanna find all you possibly can. additionally, if you're frantically looking for a certain item in between combat situations (for example you ran out of ammo and are expecting combat soon, or you desperately need healing that you just can't seem to find) then the empty containers can create a more drawn out version of the panic you described, adding onto the creeping dread of the horror survival segments

As someone who dealt with people whose daughter went missing, trust me when I say that they will panic a lot and it takes a lot of patience to calm them down.
Luckily, in my case, their daughter was only gone for a day because she was black-out drunk at a friend's house.

I don't form my opinions based on others reactions. I played the game first before watching others play it. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Most RE titles first areas are always their strongest. I dare say I like the Factory just as much as the Castle, purely cause it gave me Metroid Prime vibes. That being said, I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Connor decided to play RE8 before RE7 just for the memes and then complains about not feeling very attached to the story and characters, when RE8 is a continuation of that story and the middle point of the supposed trilogy. You don't start stories in their middle points, that just ruins the whole experience, so if you decided to do that you have no grounds to complain about it.
