Andre spent 20 minutes raw dogging cheap spirits, no ice or mixes. I commend his dedication
He’s what i aspire to be 😂😂
Cheap yes, but definitely not low quality. I've had several of these and they're all pretty freakin decent for the price point
It's called neat. Have some class.
@@tgbeam for sure, they're all quite solid for the price. Even at double the price point, in a fancier bottle, 99% of people wouldn't bat an eye.
Level up, nerd. 😂
Would absolutely love to see André do a blind taste off between the Kirklands and comparable name-brand spirits.
That’s literally what this vid should’ve been.
I was going to say "wouldn't matter he could tell..." But then I stopped myself thinking "Well, that's what the pretentious A-holes said in France in 1976..." But I would still give him the over 50% odds on...
@@Sawbuck I think he'd do better than 50/50, but:
1. The fact it's close is telling.
2. The ones he hit vs. missed would be interesting.
Yes we need that.
I'd love to see a blind tasting as well. Have one somelier pick low, medium, and high quality versions of each spirit, plus a kirkland version, and see how another somelier (or better yet a panel) rank them WITHOUT knowing that one is Kirkland.
“Costco Migos” had me dying
Read your comment at the same time he said it.
It's Casamigos tequila he is mentioning. A brand produced and owned by George Clooney. You both are morons, get a clue.@@mr.mr.4772
It gives the trader Jose vibes 😂
Definitely cultural appropriation
😂same
Love these ones with André. He seems like such a nice guy and explains everything so simple and understandable.
Some of the only decent content BA puts out these days. Gone are the golden days of the BA test kitchen
He clearly doesn't know anything about whiskey though
I met him before in NYC, he's as nice and genuine as he seems on video. Great guy.
@@reubenhandel210why do you say that
@MrKelsomatic he's done 2 videos with scotch in them and both times he talked about peat flavor in unpeated examples.
Love this guy. He's so knowledgeable, but not pretentious about it.
He's really not that knowledgeable, you can seem just as educated on the topic if you take the 1 day first level spirit sommelier course
The cliche of a snooty semolier is over played. Their job is to make choices simpler and accessible...
@@thegarge7476before making such a derogatory statement as this you think you would have at least researched his background and credentials. I know that you didn’t because if you had done so you would not have made such an asinine and unfounded claim.
@@dragoonempire I've met plenty of doctors who know a lot less than their degrees imply.
To think this chud that's making the most basic observations, that even a high schooler could make, is some kind of ultra knowledgeable spirit sommelier is just stupid.
@@thegarge7476looking forward to your review of these spirits
He is the only one I tune in for on this channel. Everytime he pops up on my feed, I tune in immediately. So much knowledge and he enjoys what he does!
Yep me too. I pretty much autoclick when I see a new one of his
How about this with every Costco wine?
Yesss all the cheap Costco wines
NGL some of those wines slap@@statisticallyvalidatedster658
@@statisticallyvalidatedster658trader Joe wine is better
WAYYYYY too many 😂 At least at my costco, there's probably 80+ brands
As a winemaker that would be torture. Half of them are awful. And the way costco railroads the wineries producing it to basically produce it at cost is another reason I hate them they literally tried to get the winery i worked for several years ago to produce a wine for them we said no because it was too much financial investment for basically no return we take all the risk.
Well alright Andre’s back👏🏾👏🏾
The Anejo is absolutely terrible, he was being nice
That's my dude 😊.
Giving the people what they want
We missed you brother
Episode idea: "costco versus"
Have Andre blind taste a handful of popular liquors or wines or whatever verse the Kirkland Signature equivalent. He can dissect them, try and guess which is which, and rank them!
The descriptions of these were really stellar. I feel like some reviewers use terminology only experienced drinkers would know but Andre was able to put it in a way anyone could understand without losing the quality or depth of the review
"Stellar"? I was thinking cellar. 😉
WE NEED MORE ANDRE!!!
I'm a flavor chemist and I can assure you all that everything Kirkland brand is on the same par as any premium brand. Costco has the best buying team on planet earth.
Costco definitely has the most complete and stringent program. Getting brought on by Costco is a badge of honor for any product.
where do you get into flavour chemistry? i'm a chemistry undergrad
@@sashaleggett1994 Food Science Master's Degree Program. Check out schools like Cornell, Virginia Tech and Penn State.
That is an interesting field. Super cool.
@@sashaleggett1994same here.
Thank you slightly drunk hipster Morpheus. :D
Definitely less chaotic than Can It Kirkland
D'accord, moins chaotique que le Kirkland en boîte, mais j'aime cette bouteille.
i was hoping i'd see someone mention can it kirkland
“Ciroc Pineapple? I got u!” 🎉😂❤ Missed you!
The Life Aquatic with Andre Mack
"Hey I understood that reference." But what about my dynamite?
I don’t drink but I can watch this guy all day.
The Kirkland Spiced Rum is a pleasant surprise. I serve it as an after dinner drink and watch people’s surprise reactions. It’s delicious sipped.
I like to mix it with ginger ale or coke!
My local costco has been out of Spiced Rum for two months, I hope they haven't discontinued it. I forgot to ask on the way out.
The 1.75L 12yr Kirkland whiskey is goat, it was my daily sipper for quite some time. Extremely smooth and one of the few "cheap" whiskies that I can enjoy drinking neat.
Wasn't ready for "Costcomigos", literal lol
Love the way he approaches everything with an open mind and breaks it down to be easy to understand
That Rum XO is absolutely yummy. Just came across it at my local store. Glad I did.
It costs more than $49 at my Costco
@@Peace7702 $25 at mine. Southern California
That bass drop when he was tasting the Canadian whiskey🔥
I love how you break things down and explain it to those less knowledgeable, such as myself. Thank you.
This dude is so authentic to himself. Is really refreshing
More of Andre please 😊❤
I just love his candidness.
Andre should be a permanent staple, dude single handedly got me into wine. I’ll watch any video Andre is in
I will watch every Andre video and some multiple times. He drops so much knowledge in an easily digestible way that I learn so much and so efficiently via any video he is presenting. Keep them coming!
I'm not even into alcohol and I couldn't take my eyes off of this video, his passion and explanations are so nice ❤
Worth noting, Bourbon Barrell casked DOES NOT mean it uses the same barrels as bourbon. It means it was casked in used bourbon barrels. Most use American oak for fresh barrels, though any oak is allowed . So if a product uses the same barrels as bourbon, it would be oak casked. Bourbon Barrel casked is specific to used barrels.
When André pointed out how the Kirkland Canadian Whiskey bottle reminded him of Crown Royal I chuckled as they are the ones that make it for Costco.
He’s the best! I love his clear explanations and his down to earth personality!
Finally stuff that is easy access. I like your other videos but I have no idea how I can get them without paying just as much in shipping.
Spiced rum isn't a traditional category of rum at all, it's a modern anachronism (Captain Morgan is arguably the first example, and definitely the first popular one). Most spiced rum, like Captain Morgan, is not flavoured in a noticeable way with baking spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, or allspice, but rather mostly with vanilla (or vanillin), making them the rum equivalent of vanilla vodka.
19:34 about that
- " Hey cousin, it's morning ! " (After a night drinking at some party)
- " You wanna get an Irish coffee, but we don't have coffee. "
- " We got ice scream ! "
The Kirkland Tequilas are my favorite. And either of the vodkas, works, especially for something with a mixer.
6:38 - I learned something while touring the Jack Daniel's distillery a while back: Jack sells his used barrels to John.
Andre is the MVP of this channel! 🎉 ❤️🔥
I love watching shows where I have personally tried the product and love hearing the opinions of others on products I enjoy.
Costco used to have a bourbon I enjoyed as base for whisky coke. Haven’t seen it in two years at least. Bring it back!
I was just at the Costco in Milford, CT and asked about the bourbon- was told to check back this summer, as it may be back in stock🤷🏽♀️🤞🏽 My husband and I used it for Manhattans- it was pretty smooth!
this is the main problem with warehouse brands. After a while the product disappears and can't find it anymore!
Those were some of my favorites too
This is perfect. I love these reviews!
Thanks for the clean and remarkably articulate reviews. Descriptions were efficient while still descriptive and great personal notes on each. Great job.
Dude is blowing up my spot. I have been sipping on Costco tequila blanco and scotch for awhile
Costco blanco tequila is just patron rebottled
The corn vodka is blue ice
The French vodka is grey goose
The XO is seagrams
And the scotch is Jameson single barrel
This was a fantastic and very helpful video. Been watching your videos for a while but haven't commented. But after watching this one I needed to tell you that you're videos are great and Thanks!
Just had to find a way to bring Andre back......... Love it!!!
Because of local laws, you don’t need a Costco membership to buy liquor in the following states, just walk in and tell them you’re only buying liquor:
•Arizona
• California
• Colorado
• Connecticut
• Delaware
• Hawaii
• Indiana
• Kentucky
• Massachusetts
• Michigan
• Minnesota
•New York
• Texas
• Vermont
EDIT: There's a lot more states according to the replies !
Thanks, bud!
Costco doesn't sell liquor at its Texas locations. Beer and wine only. If there is a liquor selection, it's at an unaffiliated liquor store that rents space, which means no Kirkland Select spirits.
I'm in Florida and they also do not require membership to buy liquor.
And no membership required to buy at the food court too!!!
@@Default78334 Ah... I wondered why I haven't seen most of these products. I thought maybe it was just my particular store. Thanks for the info.
Andre and Costco? Two of my favorite things together. A+ video
Thanks for this , fantastic review
THIS IS CINEMA
Thank You for this very informative video!
This was a fun one. I recently got the Kirkland añejo and really did not care for it, so it's interesting that André didn't either. I just prefer blancos in general, though. Always love André's videos.
Thank you for the knowledge
Well done. Honest assessments. Thank you.
9:15 .... that's the singularity. He goes ... "That's Nice". Marked change, One eye slightly closed. 😂
Great presentation! Loved it!
Excellent reviews and commentary. Thanks!
Omg, love André and love focusing on more affordable alternatives!
Please do ALDI NEXT!
Enjoyed the video. Great personality + enjoyable/informative content = 👍
Yassss, King! Get after it!
Thank you Mr Mack for coming back!
Please make this a weekly thing! ❤
His argument of Costco running off of a "grocery store model" isn't really accurate. While it's a factor, the bigger factor is that Costco makes the bulk of their profit off of the membership fee to shop there. This lets them cut the markup way down on items they sell. Using the Kirkland brand helps cut cost down even more since they don't spend on things like advertising or distribution to non-Costco liquor stores
I could not have dreamed for a better video ❤
Andre, thank you for this great video!
Love this dude's approach. I will watch/listen to anything he does.
incredibly informative and fascinating
This was awesome. Thanks
Woohoo Andres back! Now we need the Costco wine video!
This was excellent, thank you.
OHOHO! Great way to answer all those comments about costco. When you do their wine series make sure you try their Tawny Port because it's quite a treat.
This was awesome! I just wish there could have been a review on the Kirkland bottle of bourbon.
I have a splash of the Costco Irish cream (and nothing else) in my coffee every morning. I look forward to it every morning.
Thank you Sommelier André Hueston Mack! That was a sincere and informative analysis that anyone can appreciate. Great video!
This was an excellent presentation. What a wonderful host. Thanks Andre'.
Always great content
The mini bar idea is brilliant!!
Enjoyed your reviews, well done.
Another great episode
Just by chance I saw this recommended. Wow. Andre', I learned so much, thank you. Highly recommend this to watch...and learn.
Thanks for this
One of my favorite you tubers. Always learn something new!
Love your videos! Andre is the best!
I hope this means a Costco wine video is coming up too! 😆
Being Canadian I'm crying seeing those prices 🥲
excellent review
great video! really helps me to choose which one to buy next time in Costco
Love this
I love this guy!!!!❤ so glad I stumbled upon this. I no longer have the bon Appétit channel.
Thank You!
Love his videos interesting and entertaining. Always watch him.
Welcome back Andre!!
The zoom in on bourbon had me crying!
I finally found one of those tasting glasses on EBay. I love it. Gimmick but fun. Glad to see Andre back. I look forward to his videos.
I've been looking everywhere for them. Could you share the link?
Or the name of the glassware shape
What's so special about it?
Came here for this comment. What in the where are they?
@@frankcortez1796 Riedel Hollow stem tasting glass. They are occasionally available on ebay. NOT CHEAP. Expect to pay over $50
I ADORE Andre!!!!
Bailey's Irish Cream is one of my favorite spirits, and now I will give Costco's brand a try.
The Kirkland Tequila and the XO Cognac are fantastic values in my opinion.
Andre is the best and I love Costco, I'm going to have to try some of these now! 😍
This is actually helpful
Respect for this
❤❤all the pop up info.. Scotch should be like licking a BBQ lid 😅❤❤🎉🎉😂
Dude please do more !!
