I love the idea of a secret room that every single person in the building knows about

It's always great to see someone make a real liveable and not temporary hidden room.

This video is filled with 100% OG hacksmith energy! The kind that turns any viewer into a jealous kid that wants to build their crazy contraptions in the attic. I missed it so much!

Filling up a gun safe with toilet paper inside of a bathroom in a secret room in their workplace is the most hacksmith thing ever

This is a fantastic idea for james specifically with all his mental health issues. But the only thing i think about is that the staff should maybe also have something similar, a relax room with comforts to help them unwind during their breaks etc. at work. Imagine this but a little bit more communal, like how Linus has his games room and cinema room etc. I love this approach to stimulating the brain while at work to allow stress levels to fizzle down for an hour or 2 during the work day before cracking on. We have all seen the studies that a happy worker is a productive worker.

This honestly might be my favorite of your videos. It feels so authentic, like the spontaneous passion project it is.

This is so wolesome seeing James take care of himself, not just physically but mentally as well, he's having fun, he's getting into his own projects to build things himself along side his closest friends, and staying safe while doing so, he's not just surviving he's living

Nice to see James actually use some of the money he's made for his own enjoyment. The man deserves this and I couldn't be happier for him.

Imagine if no one actually had any idea he built a secret room, I'd love to see one of the employees watching at power and water consumption and be like: "Hey james? Do you have any idea why we are consumming so much electricity and water outside work hours?"

For those wondering; the fridge entrance he mentioned is part of the Omega Mart attraction created by Meow Wolf. The entire store it resides in is based on supernatural, uncanny shopping mart experiences, such as self aware cleaning bottles & lemons with an eye. It's an amazing experience & has a rich, bizarre, hidden story behind it that you can discover like a giant ARG (quite literally one if I'm not mistaken).

Now you need a secret underground tunnel to work. Only issue is... I doubt you'll get a permit for that. UNLESS... you buy a house right next to work so your properties border each other. Just build an underground railway and go for the old aesthetic of an underground mining cart.

This is hands down the coolest thing I have ever seen. My favorite part is the thunderstorm cloud ceiling. I want that in my room so bad.

This video has the same energy as the old videos gave us. True happiness and passion going into a project. Keep it up, these are the types of videos I keep coming back for... well the lightsabers too.

I like that these guys show the inevitable failures as the build progresses.
Those types of fails always happen on prototype/first builds. Showing that in the videos they create is very cool.

I absolutely love imaginative use of small spaces. I really hope this does get some use. And please James install a latch to keep the roof hatch open if you're staying out there!

Imagine being a burgler breaking into Hacksmith's warehouse and walking through this seemingly normal corridor then all of a sudden all the lights go red and you see James slowly but menacingly descend from one of the lights, armed with whatever mad tech they have laying around... or a mini lightsaber.

This is one of your coolest builds yet! especially reaching into the clouds and pulling a doorway to heaven was a SUPER cool idea, props to everyone that helped with this project! probably my favorite build!

This is by far my favorite non-super hero related project you guys have done

I've lived at work, both with and without permission. I worked at a concert venue with a large comfortable patio area, I lived there for like 6 months. Another place had an unused common basement with the building next door, I built a nice little squat down there.

3:08 had me staring because half the cover of that pocket ref is identical to an MS-DOS pocket ref which looked 30 years out of date when I picked it up in the 90s! The globe might seem 90s, but the gold foil, serif font, and rich dark colour were all sharp contrasts to a world of vapour wave where the future was sans. _And_ living above your workspace was normal. ;) Fun times, the 90s. ... I _so_ wish I could have built something like this in the 90s! Good on you for going ahead and doing it. :D

Hey @theHacksmith - been watching your content for years. I love the secret room. Just out of curiosity, do you happen to have a parts list for your lightning ceiling? What type of material did you use for the clouds?? Also addressable Led strips, were these difficult to wire up, what kind of driver did you use to power them??
I have two young ones who thought this was amazing and I'm considering a build for each of their rooms!
