PuppyTube Brees signed a 2 year deal just to get a ring because that 2017 team showed a lot of promise. Plus while he was out those 5 games he probably spent more time with his kids than usual and at especially 40 years old you like it more than football. It’s completely reasonable if Brees retires after this season.

I'm not a Saints fan, but I can all but guarantee you that the Saints would have been favorites to win big if the refs hadn't screwed it all up in the playoffs. Besides, in a league where a guy like Larry Fitzgerald has no super bowl wins, but Brock Osweiler does, i'm not going to invest much in that stat.

I was in the dome that game. On the td pass everyone knew it was coming and so did I. It was the loudest it had been in the dome when he got the record. It was amazing. Drews the greatest of all time no question about it

This is the exact reason why Drew is not on anyone's top 5 QB list. There is zero excitement in the voice of the announcers. Casually noting Drew is hit on last 17 pass attempts after 19 strait completions. They were just waiting for the TD to set the most TD record.. Slowly, they realize greatness has snuck up on them. Then they get excited, not realizing that Drew is putting on one of the most perfect QB exhibitions ever put on the field, until it is all over. They are basically asking themselves.. Wait, did he miss a completion? 29 of 30 attempts. ..really!? Too much efficiency, and not enough flash. The quietest 34pts ever scored.

GREATNESS isn't all about passing yards, or TD's vs INT's or # of completions vs # of attempts...
It's also about "How well do you do when your team gets to the playoffs" and can you be counted on to bring home a "W" with those late 4th quarter game winning drives..
NOTE: Both have the same # of *GWD* (Game Winning Drives @ 53)
Brees has his selection of awards, but when most of those awards are gained during the regular season and after a career where you only won 1 SB...while others who are also in your "top class" (Brady, Rodgers, P & E Manning, Big Ben, Russell Wilson, Kurt Warner) have multiple appearances and/or wins in the SB...and overall better results in the playoffs, there's not much left to stand on when you try and make a case for "GOAT"...

Brees is only one of three QBs to have a touchdown pass against every team in the league (one record Brady will never hold) Brees also holds the record for throwing to over a thousand different receivers in his career (including deflections that he caught and ran for positive yards, twice.) And let's remember something here... Brees was out for five games this season and still managed to beat Brady to the record he just set.
Now I know Brees may never be considered the GOAT in comparison to Brady, or Starr, or even Montana... But he cannot be overlooked when you start naming the top 10 ever to play the game.
PS...Brees won't even need to be on the ballot for the HoF... They'll induct him the moment he retires (the same goes for Brady.)
ItzAn Opinion is Brady really hands and feet above everyone else? I know six rings is a big deal. But think of it like this. Brady has had good players around him his whole career, specifically a good defense. It’s been said for a while now, “Defense wins championships”. Brady has been blessed with a good defense, good O-lines, not to mention weapons to throw to. Drew Brees didn’t have a good O-line or a good defense for years.
But let’s not forget another thing. Brees could own a majority of the important passing records before he retires where he’d be like Jerry Rice, head and shoulders above everyone else. Like Brees just carries his team, modern day Dan Marino and in my mind he’s a top 3 qb all time. 1.Brady 2. Montana 3Brees/Manning. I think it’s time that Brees gets involved in that GOAT conversation.
I’ll bring up the big part of Brady’s GOAT conversation, the controversy. How many times has Brees been in controversy for cheating? Then we bring up Brady, Spy Gate, Deflate Gate, around a week ago, videotaping the Bengals sideline for 8minutes straight. I’m not saying that should take away a lot from Brady, but it should effect his GOAT conversation a little.
Don’t get me wrong in all of this though, I respect what Brady’s done and I even say he is the GOAT. But I think it’s about damn time Brees gets in that conversation. Not because I’m a saints fan or a huge Drew Brees fan, though he’s one of my favorite Qbs. But because he deserves to be in it. Passing record after passing record he’s broken. He’s rewriting the books, that deserves a shot for being the GOAT.

Isn't this man 40? Brees being No.1 Saints QB in history period and he is still durable, some minor injuries here and there but never missed a full season since his Charger days and the Chargers still have Phillip Rivers XD.
Drew Brees is such a blessing to the saints and it will be a very tragic time when we will have to say goodbye to him. He has a garbage team into an all-star team and I am very grateful to be in the generation where we have such a wonderful qb. I cannot wait to tell my chuldren about saint's hero.

I have said this all along--not just after Brees started breaking all of these records: It is BREES--not Brady, not Manning, not Rodgers, not Montana, not Elway--who is the Best of all Time. No quarterback ever has thrown with as much accuracy and such perfect ball placement. A lot of things go into win-loss records, playoff berths, and Super Bowl titles (like, for example, coaching); but based on just his play alone, Brees is the best NFL QB of all time. This is something I have been saying for years, and I am not even a Saints fan (the Steelers are my team). Brady and Brees will be going back and forth breaking the all-time TD-pass record over the next few years, and the winner obviously will simply be the player who retires later. But that is no matter; regardless of who holds THAT record in the end, Brees is the greatest QB to ever play the game. I think it is about time that conscientious and observant football fans start recognizing it.
