    I truly hate to correct you,but this game was played at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson.Probally because this was the height of the "Air" McNair phenomenon and because of that the game was more than likely moved from the Alcorn St. campus to MVMS to accommodate more people.

      Actually, the Capital City Classic (Soul Bowl) was normally played in Jackson. When Alcorn opened our new stadium in 1992, we opted to play JSU there. However, the Capital City Classic was played at Miss Veteran's Stadium for years until 2012 when it became a "home & home" series. The game itself is still called the Soul Bowl.

    The so called Capital city classes was the only Classic played on an opponent home field which was a dam joke. The word Classic in football was always two teams playing at a neutral site. I was so glad former president Dr. Brown broke this shit up playing a team at their home field is giving them all the advantages, back then all the Classic event centered around JSU as if it was another homecoming for them which it was. It's cost Alcorn tons of money to move their home games to convince the JSU fair weather fans, Alcorn loose out on parking, tailgating, rv parking, concessions and everything else especially when every body has their hand in the cookie jar. Bayou Classic wS mention its played in New Orlean not Southern or Grambling.

      It is called the capital city classic. Jackson is literally the capital city of mississippi. I don't see how this can be confusing . Trust me Alcorn fans show up in large numbers like it is their home game

      The Capital City Classic was played in Jackson every year. In 1994 Alcorn was the home team. This was not a JSU home game.
      If the city of Jackson would've paid Alcorn like they suppose to the game would still be held in Jackson.
      Also, Mississippi is split between ASU & JSU like the state of Alabama with Auburn & Bama. You can play that game on the moon and the fans will be 50-50 split.

      @@tmack7948 it wasn't played in Jackson every year. They only did that for a few years in the late 90's when whatever geniuses thought up "CCC". • @tmack7948
      @tmack7948 년 전

      @@ericmcgowan1993 dude It was originally the Soul Bowl. They created the CCC because the game was so big.That was not JSU stadium at the time, they played there but the city owned the stadium and it was the biggest in the state and in the biggest city in the state. The CCC was played from 93 to 2011.
      Alcorn backed out because the city of Jackson wasn't paying what the game generated.
      And since you know so much the Egg Bowl was played in Jackson from 73 to 90. I can tell you didn't attend an HBCU and have no clue on the history of the game.
