- Hey guys! The last cultural difference video got such a good response that I wanted to continue the series, so here is part 2! This time we talk about the cultural differences of France, Russia, and Mongolia! I hope you guys enjoy it and find it informative and fun. Apparently, languages that use harsh accents or pronunciation is easier for them rather than softer ones like japanese. The main reason is that their own language has a harsh pronunciation. Is what i was told by my friend.

몽골인은 정말 한국인에 가까운듯. 한국에 사는 몽골인보면 한국어를 진짜 한국인들처럼 함. 생김새도 한국인이랑 전혀 차이가 없고, 몽골출신이라고 말 안하면 모를정도..신기함.

1 year too late 😔 but for mongolians it's like a norm to know atleast 2-3 languages (probably mongolian, russian and english) so I guess mongolians have good hearing ,which makes it easier to pronounce different words from different languages even if we never heard it before ,but for some reason korean seems to be one of the easiest languages to learn..like am I the only one? I am learning korean rn and I actually learnt the alphabet in 2 days. So far I know Mongolian, Russian, English, Korean and started learning Japanese. I am still in highschool so I got a long way and if I actually mention this to anyone around here they act like it's no big deal 😂
Conclusion: if you go to Mongolia, it's likely that atleast a couple of people around you will understand you because for some reason they pick up on languages very fast-

lol first time im hearing something like this about russia.
in russia never ever will someone step on someone's feet FOUR times in response! most likely, angelina said this only because in the area where she grew up it was custom to do so. local shit exists everywhere. but in reality, only children (and some teenagers) usually do something like this. for example, if they step on someone's foot, they say "step on mine" (ONE! time). they think it'll make them even. neither the capital, nor in other russian cities i've never seen somebody stepping on someone`s foot 4 times. people either don't notice they've squashed your snow-white sneakers, or they say "oops" and move on, or they say "sorry" in a hurry. again, everything depends on people, some dont care, some sincerely apologize.

러시아 감기 걸렸을 때 하는 요법은 몽골에도 있어요! 저도 어릴 때 많이 했답니다.
몽골분께서 말씀하셨다시피 우유는 우리 나라에서 가장 #소중한 음식이기에 그만큼 존대하는 의미로 일부로 솓은게 아니며 #소중하게 생각한다는 것을 신께 알려주기 위해 이마에 묻히는거립니다. 맘 편하자고 지금까지 이어져 오기는 어렵죠? ㅎㅎ
머리 자르는 거는 한국에서 돌잔치하는 것처럼 가장 큰 #통과의례입니다. 한마디로 #액땜잔치입니다. 잔치를 할때 실제 머리를 자르지 않고 나무칼로 시늉만 하고 미용실에서 머리를 밀어요. 안밀고 다듬기만 하는 사람도 있어요(저욧🙋♀️) 그리고 이 잔치를 하기 전까지 절대 머리카락을 자르면 안돼요 남녀 상관없이, 그래서 어린 남자 아이들 보면 #머리긴 아이들이 많아요!!
그리고 매월 1일과 공휴일에 술판매 #금지고 매일 오전12시 이후에도 술 판매 #금지예요!!
그리고 발 밟았을 때 손 잡는 거는 죄송하다는 의미에요~ 근데 상대방이 안 잡고 가면 무시하는 거겠죠? 아예 모르는 사람이어도 무의식적으로 손이 먼저 나가요 ㅎㅎ 그래서 사실 이것 때문에 외국에 사는 몽골 사람들이 #성희롱 신고를 많이 당하더라고요. 갑자기 손을 잡으니 불쾌하잖아요? 조심할게 많아요 ㅠㅠ

Sadly our society is in the sink. I was honestly shook when i heard that in japan if someone drops a wallet, any person(except thieves?) would pick it up and deliver it to the nearest police station. In other words Mongolian people(including me) would take the wallet for themselves without a second thought(well if i see someone drop their wallet, i'd give it to them, but if i cant locate the owner, its a free real estate).
What‘s interesting is I‘m Afghan but my ancestors from a *very* long time ago were Mongols but we have the same habits like shaking our hands when touching one‘s foot or shaving a baby‘s head, like crazy how nobody from my family/ relatives has any connection to Mongolia but still we carry on those traditions

Some of the claims came from not only Fabien but also Angelina and Lee of their own respective cultures, so it may be right or not if given by the evidence of the people who lived in Mongolia, Russia, and France will confirm that Angelina, Lee, and Fabien are right in the comment section.

it was very fun for me to watch ‘cause I live in Russia. But I live in Republic of Kalmykia which has a lot in common with Mongolians. And I was unfamiliar to a lot of traditions in Russia, but in our family we have almost all Mongolian traditions :p

Yeah counting is the hardest part in French. You have to count and do math at the same time 😐😐
As a native speaker, using and knowing all the appropriate verb tense is way more complicated to me haha

Actually it's not difficult to count in French (I speak as a native speacker) because for example the way you say 90 became a noun itsel, so it's just as id the number had a name (like 20 in english is like an apparent noun). Actually I didn't even know that 90 was 80+10. But yeh I understand that if you explain it that way (90 = 80+10) it would be difficult to anyone.
I'm learning French and counting was the easiest part

From an Inuit perspective, we have similarities to the Mongolian culture (half of what she have mentioned). It's mainly because we Inuit have common ancenstors from Mongolia.

I was so surprised to see Angelina here. I am a Kazakh, but we speak both languages: Russian and Kazakh. And almost all things that said Angelina were true and used to be in Kazakhstan. Also Mongolia is the part of Central Asia as a Kazakhstan, so their culture is near for me too)... It is the best episode ) (we also use it without colon)

The Russian cold one is also accurate here in Bulgaria (инхалация). The difference is, we use a herb лайка (idk it in english) and it kind of makes this tea-like boiled water that we inhale. What people from my city do too is also drink some ракия (Rakiya: home brewed grape brandy) with very spicy chilli in it. And yes, the kids drink it too.

I love how each culture's version of this uses a different ingredient - in America I've seen Vic's Vap-o-rub (basically, camphor oil) used in a diffuser, but nothing cool or traditional, at least in my community. I've gargled with cayenne pepper before and I have to say, it really does help a sore throat. I wonder if any chili or spice would be helpful, considering your Rakiya!
I was surprised because in Italy we do it as well but instead of potatos we boil the water with some herbal oil (usually chamomile)
@@Abcdefghij777 YES! That's the word in English I was looking for. Jist boiled water with chamomile and inhaled with a towel over the head. Imo that just stops runny noses (kinda makes sense since you're cleansing your nose with the steam). And if you have a high temperatire, we soak a towel in vinegar and place it on the head to draw out the heat (but i feel thats common worldwide)

Mongolian culture shocked me the most. It's very interesting and unique. And, as much as I love learning languages, I have to let go french. It's difficult and I can't pronounce it properly. And the numbering system, will make me go crazy. Hahaha

In Mongolia, we also favour odd numbers more. For example: 1. When as Ms.Angelina said when giving a bouquet of flowers we always make sure that they’re an odd number.
2. During Tsagaan sar or Lunar New Year, we prepare a sort of tower with “Heviin boov” or “”Shoe sole cake” and depending on age of the most elderly who lives there , the stack 7,5 or 3. (There are more rules regarding this holiday that I haven’t mentioned as well.)
3. When Ms.Sooah said that when we spill milk, we usually dip our ring finger on the spilled milk and touch our forehead as a way to show respect to the milk (one of the most worshipped product). Or, when making a toast for a celebration we also make the same gesture. And, when you drop your keys, you step on them three times before picking them up.
At 11:19, Ms.Angelina mentions that in Russia, people rub alcohol on their children to warm them up. We also have that but, it’s when the child has a fever (especially a very high fever) and rubbing Vodka on them is seen as a kind of disinfecting the bacterias on the child’s body which could be making them sick.
