Many years ago, Brian David Gilbert and Jonah Scott talked about how most of ABBA's music could be sung by Halloween villains. This year, they turned that 3 minute conversation into a full album.

i read that as arriba, i was confused
You sung this!? How are you so multi talented
Gimme. Gimme. Gimme. The acting and the singing are both impeccable
Can’t wait for spotify! These songs r going on my halloween playlist asap!
Why is the best one the least viewed?
I like how this entire parody hinges on the fact that the joke just _barely_ works long enough for one verse
Yet it’s the best thing I’ve ever watched
"must be fummy" is never gonna leave my lexicon for three years
Always summy....
@@keysmash_roa I will also be saying "summy" instead of "a lot", like "sum" in addition, the money is in fact, summy,
It is very sunny outside today. Might go to the comedy show, I heard the guys fummy and loves his mum!
Chum is fum
When he sung "mummy mummy mummy" I was like, it'd be funny if he said fummy instead of funny to make it rhyme AND THEN HE DID and I felt so proud
"A lesser comedian would've milked that joke for four verses, and a better comedian wouldn't have done it at all. We're right in the sweet spot" - Bo Burnham
This song made me think of that quote. 10/10
No joke, knowing exactly how stupid to be is a legitimate comedic skill.
I love the meta joke of "rag-time" for a mummy. Absolutely brilliant.
Also, I adore the musicality of your voice on this track.
Ah, I didn't even think of that. I just assumed the genre was popular in Ancient Egypt.
YOURE SO RIGHT !!

@@vigilantcosmicpenguin8721 Lmao
@@vigilantcosmicpenguin8721 I mean, ragtime came from African music. Not ancient Egypt though.

I actually saw a mummy perform this in a burlesque show. Not to brag, but they blew a swarm of cicadas directly into my open mouth. Needless to say, I was in love. When I say my eyes popped out of my head like a cartoon wolf, it wasn't just 'cause the embalmers were removing ‘em!
I was at that show and was ONE row away from the cicadas... I only got the scarabs, so jealous!!
Ah, I was hoping to go to that show, but I couldn't make it to the Egyptian pyramids.
The absolute unhinged energies coming off of this comment is something to behold. I love BDG comment sections. ❤
@@vigilantcosmicpenguin8721 yeah, the pyramids are so expensive this time of year. I think I'll wait for them to go on tour at the British Museum
Oh you shouldn't have!
Realising Karen's reflected on his glasses made me burst out laughing.
OH NOOOOOO!!! Most people agree that my vids are the worst on KRplus. I agree to disagree. Please agree to disagree with the haters, dear bob

@@NineWheels to be honest I mostly thought about "mummy, mummy, mummy! Must be fummy"
And "If I had a little mummy"
It's short and sweet.
If I had a nickel for every time Brian wrote an incomplete song, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

"this joke has definitely run its course" it really hasn't, and i am ready to get on my hands and knees and beg for an extended/full version
The thing about that feeling is that it's usually wrong. Being left wanting more is generally the ideal finish to any piece of media.
Suggestions:
Waterloo parody “Babadook”
“Monster Mia!”
“Dancing Scream”
I second the Babadook one
I NEED WATERLOO BABADOOK RIGHT NOW
I love all of these - only issue I could see being Babadook is a much more recent creation than the others and it may not fit with the others. But god do I want it.
Marionette, sung by a possessed puppet
babadook is the best idea I've ever heard
My man Brian really missed an opportunity with "in a rich man's tomb" here
So he is singing ABOUT the mummy. Sometime finding a rich man is less about marrying him and more about robbing his opulent grave.
Thought it would be Egyptian world for sure
I suppose the pharaohs were quite rich. Fitting.
Not the album we deserved, but the one we needed.

Who'd imagine id find the much-needed jazz cover of Money, Money, Money through this? Thanks, I guess?

we must replace all jumpscares ever with the "I love my daddy" skeleton, truly the way to end an album ever

didnt expect to see game grumps :o
Howdy Arin and/or Danny
I love how it's never just changing the lyrics to be about a monster. There's always something more, like the mummy doing standup. Y'all can't not tell a story, can you?
this is a jazz masterpiece
one coud say, a jazzterpiece
This will go down in history, just like the mummies.
Aw man, my bet was on "Mummy Mia".
For some reason this one REALLY makes me want to hear a Will Wood x BDG collab
I absolutely second that!
OH GOD YES
the universe would collapse
I knew this was going to be good, but as soon as he started with “Ha-cha-cha!” I was hyped
I now just want to hear a straight old timey parody of Money, sung exactly like this. It sounds like a really good villain song in general when done like this.
EDIT: I know EXACTLY where this cover would fit.
It's the mid-90s. A new family friendly halloween movie is coming out about a child finding a living, moving, mummy and befriending it. The movie is basically hijinks involving trying to reunite the mummy with its actual sarcophagus so it can rest in peace and truly enter the afterlife, while trying to hide it as a normal human doing normal human 90s things. Cue the hilarious rollerblading montage.
Enter BDG, the owner of a run-down Mystery Shack styled tourist trap. He gets a glimpse of the mummy for what it truly is during one of the "please, just PRETEND to be a modern person" moments, and realizes this living mummy is just what he needs to refresh his business and make him millions. He tries to essentially trick the Mummy into coming to his museum, with hilarious results, until the end when he succeeds in the third act twist. Then it is an epic chase to get the mummy back after finding its sarcophagus in, like, grandpa's attic (Chekov's box, anyone?). The movie ends with BDG getting his just desserts and the mummy joining its family in the afterlife. Cue the inspirational pop rock end theme.
This song? This is BDG at his low point, doing some kinda karaoke night at a bar after his umpteenth attempt failed. He is obviously unhinged, and the Bartender tells him to go home for the night, and says something that triggers his plan in the third act twist.
This? Is actually a really good idea for a B-movie?
I like to imagine that brian in this song is singing to a bunch of skeletons and zombies that are held hostage and glued/tied to their seats and the screams that you can hear after the punchline are their screams of agony as he continues to push the joke
Ah yes, ragtime, the genre most closely associated with ancient egypt.
I mean, Mummy's are wrapped in rags.
the will wood vibes in this are tickling me in just the right way
im so glad someone else commented this because it INSTANTLY reminded me of will lmao

Mummy Mia! Brian is in another level! Just incredible!
that makes me wonder why he didn’t do mamma mia as mummy mia
but yes it is still such a good parody i agree
"always ~summy~" followed by * dying noise * is something so funny to me
when i was in the second grade, my class held a doctor who themed musical that was essentially just doctor who fanfiction, one of the musical numbers was “mummy mummy mummy”, an ancient egypt themed abba parody (we were in ancient egypt for the scene, of course). this took me back despite sounding nothing like it
The raw charisma in this song is truly something to behold.
This is why Universal Studios should give the Dark Universe another chance.
A surprise, but a welcome one
I didn't know what to expect from a singing mummy, but I didn't think it was A JAZZ SINGER
my favorite part of this is you can almost hear the smile on his face when hes singing like "this is such a bad pun lmao"
I love how basically all of the editing work went into the vampire song, and then we get one little green screen bit at the end of this last song on the album. It all comes around full-circle lol
this is the greatest AAAH!BBA song i love how joyous it is
I really hope that's not the entire album, because I'm genuinely so invested in this.
Also, I havent heard Mamma Mia or Dancing Queen, and I am very upset, but not upset to the point where I take action.
These are not middle of the week level songs... these are halloween day songs
The fummy thing about this is that the song almost fits the ideology of most European mummy collectors in the 20th century. Which, to be frank(enstein), are the real villains in this.
are these on spotify???
He said that they're coming to Spotify soon, I'm also waiting ✨
They are now!
Oh it's you! I really enjoy your videos.
There’s a joke to be made here with “wrapping” and “covers” but I’m too engrossed to figure it out
There's also a rags to riches one but so am i
Brian, I beg, pray for an extended version PLEASE this song works so well in swing and I need more
Impeccable costume design as usual, Gilbert

I thought the guy who flew to Japan to stand in a river was my favorite abba cover. This whole album is fucking top notch, my god
Now we just need the Loch Ness Monster singing Mamma Mia.
Y’know, it might just be me, but I’d love a full version of this song. Something about a mummy singing about wishing for a sugar daddy/a person wanting a sugar mummy, just makes me enjoy it a lot.
Sugar parents?
I thought it would be like, a mummy scaring a rich person so bad they get money from em. Like, living in their mansion or something by pretending to be a scary mummy
A "mummy" video that ends with a "I love my daddy" shirt is very very funny to me.
"An old friend once told me anything can happen on Halloween" I really appreciate the reference to that fever dream of a song
The genius of the dancing skeleton at the end's "I love my Daddy" shirt instead of "I love my mummy" is something that has not gone unnoticed!
"My good friend once told me anything can happen on Halloween" YESSSS I love the nods in this and 'Lay your blood on me' to Tim Curry's song from that Worst Witch movie
EHEHEHEHHEHEEH THE WINTER KING!!!!!
Oh god, the rhymes in this one made me actually cry with laughter 😭
"must be ~fummy~" is the only thing that makes me laugh anymore

Even after leaving Polygon, Brian found a way to waste more paper
Those extra sound effects kill me
I can't express in words the torrent of emotions. On one hand this is by far my favorite in the album, and on the other hand I am filled with despair that it only has one verse
Ragtime surprisingly blends well with both mummies and abba
i want the backstory behind this video. the club of halloween monsters and the hard-done-by mummy singer just trying to get by in life - and maybe, just maybe, find a man to love
