I just got a new kitty who has been so scared of us and has slowly started to open up to us more. She's currently scared if we move around too much or stand, so we are working with her with that :) But when I'm sitting she will even sit and lay next to me! Recently she started meowing which has been such a treat hearing her little voice. I don't really know what she's asking yet!

In my experience as a life long cat owner (i have 9 right now), i think cats look into your eyes just as one human does to another. It's the thing that has always convinced me that they're really smart! I think the kitten in that video was meowing towards the shoes because he was watching for them to move, knowing that meant they're possibly going to where the food is.
