How Shipping Containers Control Global Trade

- Container shipping is responsible for moving 90% of the world’s goods, according to the World Economic Forum. But, if shipping containers aren’t at the right place at the right time, the global supply chain may face serious problems. It could result in high inflation, shortages of key materials and products as well as revenue losses to large and small businesses alike. At the same time, over 95% of shipping container manufacturing is happening in the nation that leads the world in exports - China, according to the Federal Maritime Commission. Here’s how shipping containers can save, or cripple, the global economy.

How Shipping Containers Control Global Trade
The timing is nothing short of predominant.
Wouldn't surprise me if this was sitting on their shelf ready to go and now was a time that would have interest/get clicks.
You know that sentence makes no sense right? I think you mean prescient
@@Lkopnuflmao yes it does not. What a bot 😂
You've got to be f-ing kidding me CNBC 😂😅 Who approved this video today?
same thought explains itself
lol this vid probably scheduled a week ago to upload lol
Lol
Yeah, it is scary that this released the same day.
if there was a fatal car crash , we cannot talk about the automotive industry?
Either CNBC posted this video on purpose, or this video being posted now is just a coincidence after the news in Baltimore today…
these are, in fact, the two options lmao
Baltimore was just another expected False Flag
probably it was scheduled to be posted today ahead of time. most likely coincidence.
@@the0ne809 It was a False Flag and many more are coming. More mass shootings? More toxic chemical spills? More weather manipulation? Sooooooo many are asleep and in a trance from those mRNA Gene therapy poison jabs. We are living in crazy times.
About to say the same thing
I'm not sure about the economy. But it can cripple a bridge.
Underrated comment 😂
Underrated Comment 😂
Container ship hits Baltimore bridge.....**CNBC..."in unrelated events, here's this video"
So y'all were actually waiting for that to happen then post this video by coincidence eh? lmao
It obviously crippled Baltimore's bridge.
The timing of this is so chaotic 😂
Yall wild for this one
Good timing bro
Good video. Very informative. Important information for consumers to know.
Working at a shipping yard or harbor must be a great experience
ironic time to post this
i’m not a conspiracy theorist but this is just…..😅
100% lol
I recently saw a neighborhood that was entirely made up of shipping containers converted into homes. This was on an indian reservation so idk if they had electricity or plumbing
Yeah, it's a thing. You can have electricity and plumbing in them however the insulation is worse in a metal box obviously and also it's really only a viable option in very rural areas, they aren't too shabby though
@@Betweoxwitegan it would be really hot in summer no? Like a can
@@multatuli1 Pretty much yeah, if you open windows and keep them open you'll be fine though. You could also put in AC but obviously it's going to cost a lot of energy.
How Shipping Containers Can Cripple The Baltimore Bridge
wow the timing on this video......
you missed a bit here, the docks are optimized to operate as efficiently as possible, the problem lies in the lack of truck drivers and trucks, and that companies refuse to accept the container ex target, the truck drivers have to wait far beyond the time required by law and there is a lot of documentation on this,
Hmmm interesting timing🤔
WHAT TIME ??
But yet, shipping containers became a thing by the late 1970's because of their ability to move a huge amount of goods a lot faster and with lot less fear of goods being stolen by stevedores.
global systemic corporate corruption
$190 BILLION! These are the families that rule the world. Who are these people? Bring them to justice.
The timing of this video...😮
It’s crazy 😂to make the return trip empty yo 😢
The biggest problem is moving the empty containers back to where they are needed.
Cargo shipment helps manufacture economies to grow their gdp. Material speaking.
Every week my recycle trash bin is filled with empty Amazon shipping boxes, and most of these stuff I bought are made in China including these shipping boxes. So who should I blame?
Success seems to be connected with action successful people keep moving. They make mistakes. But they don't quit. The stock market has plenty of opportunities to earn a decent payouts, with the right skills and proper understanding of how the market works.

You are right.
But I don't know why people remain poor due to ignorance..
Investing in crypto currency now is the best thing to do despite with the current down price in the market
By controlling shipping container manufacture, they can undercut/influence global trade through pricing, sale volume and manufacture to market timing. They can essentially control the export sector, the question for each country would be; of how much value are our exports to china? I can’t see that import control reduction would be effective leverage against chinas economy, especially as imports are usually required and chosen for their cost effectiveness. The logical option would be to levy an import tax against china if they artificially control shipping container production.
Either good timing or bad timing for this CNBC lol
This story is about 3 years too late
how soon is too soon? this. this is too soon.
KOOL ... and after a fair amount of use they can be turned into HOMES!!
Brazil is ready to receive investments in the manufacturing industry in all sectors. Come to Brazil 🇧🇷

Chinese 🇨🇳 AI unmanned port is amazingly good.👍
The timing of this video is just way too suspicious 😭
Worlds most expensive box? 😹
FEWER people, not "less people"
Excellent timing, eh CNBC? 😂
Obviously it was a coincidence; the topic is not even closely related...
If they were purposely trying grab attention, they would've chosen something actually relevant, like "aging container ships" or "US bridge design flaws" or "operating a container ship"
People always like to find the tiniest similarities in things and imagine that it was all fate or some conspiracy... 🙄
End the Jones act
I think it’s neutral timing to post this video. I see both sides. The Baltimore bridge incident is horrific however citizens need to know how container ships operate so we better understand the issue. Was this video a little insensitive, idk maybe? It’s informative and needed as most people have no idea about the logistics of this industry.
China has a lot of power as a whole
Read the room.
Happy birthday 🎂🎁🎈🎉 😂
how? they also transport people and weapons
Time traveling algorithm 🤫😂😅
The irony in this video being posted today.
De-risking?👍
Read the room cnbc
Why can we just make it locally?
Usually about the price... if its cheaper to make outside.
Also some local species like fruit and fish might only available in certain regions.
Next time developed a new box.
Seriously guys… today?
They Should Use Cargo Planes Instead Of Cargo Ships
Costs are too high. Airline infrastructure unreliable at the moment. Not to mention a lack of air traffic controllers to handle more air traffic.
Bad timing with this one 😭
I thought my gf had the most expensive box..
😂
What we require is Teleportation.

Of course CNBC won't mention why the Houthis are interrupting ships that ARE GOING TO ISRAEL. 😂
🤔
And what about teen girl voice?
Bruh.......
The Houthies jamming them up
damn soo this why Baltimore bridge collapse😅
Who decided the length of these containers?
It’s about time companies started passing costs onto their overpaid executives and incredible profits rather than to consumers!
The inflation the government created is so bad that even if the CEOs were paid nothing they'd still have to raise prices a lot.
Weird timing im glad i wasn't the only that notice in the comments
We should not be shipping that much in the first place. Granted, some stuff we have to, but a lot of products we could easily source locally (or at least eg. within Europe), that would be easily possible if it weren't for the greed of big corporations, where every cent per item saved matters enormously🤦♂️
Sen.McCollum is it wife daughter of container magnate...Samantha's cousin dies in car plunging into lake..then several minute staring into the void..I'm bac then bridge collision...justca thought.
Interesting
I always get a good laugh when Washington's central planners tell the "free market" what to do and then preaches about the invisible hand of the market...lol
Too soon
So trading in surplus will cripple the economy? Lol
br5h someone at cnbc has a warped sense of humor lol
This wasn't a problem back when everything was made in America!
The steel from the collapsed bridge in Baltimore, MD will be recycled into……shipping containers??😮
ironic
@ Ch of the value of the text status of time attachment of
Wtf
US doesn't know but there is chip inside the container and China spying on US.🤣
Undemecratic countries are so eager specially with billion people. Us and allies should be hard-working to counter the desperate moves of these undemocratic nations
This not true

Need 4k
Horrible timing 😂...
This was a complete waste of time to watch.. shipping in America is so expensive because of regulation like the Jones act, the labor unions at the ports of America.. they only work 9 to 5:00 Monday to Friday compared to the rest of the world.. there are so many inefficiencies built-in on purpose because of unions.
WTF?
How convenient this video comes out today.
FJB
Bring it all back to U.S. !!!!!!!!! Save than shipping from other places. Driving up $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ;-(
Plandemic
Isn't it a little scary that a bridge named after the write of our National Anthem was hit after trump had stood in attention to the "hostages'" own national Anthem? Strange!!!
I don’t think your aluminium tin foil hat is thick enough
Too soon maybe??? Maybe let the search and rescue finish before you drop this unbelievably convenient video? No okay...🤦🏿♂️
Capitalism and the desire to want higher remuneration along with ever cheaper goods has priced the manufacture of many of these imports which once were made locally, out of the market. China is responsible for the manufacture of the majority of sea containers and just about everything that's imported inside them. Puts your economy in a precarious position being so reliant when there's disruption to the supply chain.
I go to the port and I see containers sit for months...problem the port people are slow no.2 the ports move when they wanna move no.3 the port workers are lazy no.4 it's a hassle trying to get your load at time no.5 theirs is not enough appointments for every company no.6 they take a hour and half lunch which is dumb you should have a lunch crew as well..the port is a headache working down their but it's a job for lazy truck drivers who like to sit around and these companies are dumb because they are cool with it..
Too soon… never miss a chance to make money, right? This old video that you’re reposting 😒
Bull shoiiuiiiiiit
Americans are losing everywhere and the world rejoices .
Stop lying to people cnbc
You should have more sense than to post this. How do you think families of those who perished or are missing feel?
Americans crying in the comments about timing when everything they buy comes via container ships...
