Bold of you to assume that the Unknown was actually an actor playing a character and not a being manifested out of the fear and sadness of all those children.

Why did my teacher put this on for class 💀 Also to answer 7:19, pretty much. I think the organisers gave ChatGPT a prompt for a fake sequel and it gave them an antagonist for it, then they probably asked for Willy Wonka and Oompa Loompa lines
A lot of attendees voiced great support for the girl working as an Oompa Loompa. That was like the one bad photo of her, they shared lots of photos of her being all smiles and nice to the kids and trying her best given the circumstance.

yeah, & all the ytbers are using it as clickbait, makes me feel so bad for her knowing she prolly seen this pic like 3 times & its representing the bad experience
What's absolutely nuts to me is that the character had to have been approved of, likely by multiple people. ChatGPT didn't order the costume and hire the actor. The Unknown's description was read by human eyes, the visuals were conceptualized by a human brain, and the role was played by a human being. I'm sorry, but WHAT THE CHOCOLATE *FUDGE*
7:26 Actually yeah, that happens quite often. If you ask ai to make a story about something, they'll pull up the most generic storytelling ever, which most of the time includes villains. so I'm pretty sure that's how Unknown was born. They never checked whether the story itself was good or not, I bet they generated only ONCE and they were like "okay we're going with this"
I really need parents to gain more media literacy because how do you see a website littered with spelling mistakes and AI images and think “let’s take my child to this abandoned warehouse!!”
I think it's worth noting that the oompa loompa lady actually really tried her best to make the event enjoyable for the kids. I've seen some of the parents talking about how they really appreciated her going out of her way to make the kids smile
I mean yeah it even sounds like the parents felt sorry for her instead of being mad at her and anyone who has dealt with parents knows that they do not hesitate to rip into lower level employees if they're dissatisfied
@@tuan1669I mean, it's not like anybody is going to really go out of their way to spread around the good aspects. It's a much more minor version of how people would rather film a fight and get the best angle and hope their video goes viral than break them up. There's no real way of making a heartwarming tweet go remotely as viral as a picture of a disgruntled woman in a meth lab for children.
Oh my gosh! You saying that literally reminded me of that one episode where Mr Krabs set up that cheap playground, and that is JUST LIKE this Willy wonka thing 😂😂
Here in Brazil (and I believe in many other places) we have an amusement park that is chocolate themed, it was so magical for me as a child, it had chocolate fountains, gnomes and crystals. It’s so sad that these children can’t have the same experience.
The Unknown actress actually just posted a Tiktok about it! She's 16 and just tried to "act like a creepy man who lives in the walls." I honestly thought she did pretty well, considering what she was given.
@@hamachinasan The unfortunate thing about people becoming known for something without their name attached to it is that plenty of people will jump on the chance to attach their own name.
Maybe one day The Unknown will show up in an official Willy Wonka story? Roald Dahl did write a lot of twisted and bonkers concepts, so a cloaked entity threatening Wonka's chocolate-making skills almost sounds like something he could've done (the key word being 'almost').
@@BollywoodNewzz Yeah.. spamming and trying to rise off of other peoples success is more or less just fraud, if you are real, which I doubt, do it under your own merit, you only ruin your reputation and kill a channel before it has started by trying to pull this stuff.
the unknown is so unbelievably funny to me. i saw a video of a little girl hissing at it as it cowered in fear and i haven’t stopped thinking about it since
I think the unknown is salvagable in concept. Naturally, I agree this particular execution was not good. However, there has been weird stuff in Willy Wonka media. It could be the representation of all the kids getting picked off, spooky tunnels with chickens getting their heads cut off, the rival spies trying to ruin the factory, etc. The unknown could be the ill omen that happens just before that spooky stuff occurs, so that children could mentally prepare for when the show is about to get real.
I live in Scotland (albeit on the east coast so over an hour away from Glasgow!) and the organiser is a known scammer who gets the AI to write "books" which he sells on the internet, and calls himself an "author". He was involved in some other scam in Glasgow a couple years back as well I think. But yes before I heard about him I also thought it was some kind of comedy sketch at first!!
What's really weird about it is that it reads like GPT 1 or 2. Like you could ask Chatgpt 3 to write a apology for hosting a bad Willy Wanka event and it would have produced an intelligible interview, but this reads as if it was ran through an indian scam caller AI
I saw someone say maybe the AI messed took the line where "everyone's greatest fear is the unknown" (probably getting that wrong, my bad) and decided "the unknown" was a character. Also, the actor for Willy said when he arrived, his heart dropped. But he and the other actors talked and agreed to stay to try and make it better for the kids. I feel so bad for them.
Well, chatgpt simply deals with probabilistic models of volumes and volumes of words to determine the next best word to use after each subsequent word based on the prompt given. For example, if I were to write a prompt that was just "to be" it would most likely respond next with 'or not to be' and depending on how many tokens (word segments) I told it to use, it would continue writing more words after that in a probabilistic manner. It's not actually deciding anything. It can't think. It's not true artificial intelligence as in having self awareness.
10:25 I am like 90% sure every quote from the "director" there was written in chat GPT. It's all so vague and keeps repeating points using unnatural sounding words, plus just awkward grammar that wouldn't make sense if said out loud or written
@@rancidprince3133 how hilarious would that be: the first artificial intelligence becomes sentient, and the first thing it does is create a shitty willy wonka attraction in glasgow
I'm a bit surprised they were able to find those big candy props. They're by far the most impressive pieces in the whole set. It makes me wonder if they just found the giant candy props first, and were then like "hey I bet we can make a whole thing around these!"
I thought the same thing, stuff like the grassy bridge and Wonka bar prop were little sparkles of competence in a sea of sadness lol. He was about 5 percent of the way there and just decided that was good enough, I suppose
McFucking scuse me? Edit: yeah, there are. At the time of writing this, there are 11 slash fics of Willy Wonka and The Unknown. Sometimes I don’t know whether or not to fear fanfic writers or respect them. Maybe both?
I can't believe Danny didn't even acknowledge the actor being like "the first red flag was when I was cast as Willy Wonka and not an Oompa Loompa, I give off major Oompa Loompa energy" 6:54 because that was hilarious 😂
As a scare actress who cackles like a maniac after having terrified people during haunts, I feel for the actor playing the unknown, because when a child enters a haunt, they and the parents know what they’re getting into, so when you enter an event that’s supposed to be magical and wholesome, you don’t expect your child to be absolutely traumatized by something that wasn’t even in the original story
It was a 16 y/o girl apparently. Her first gig. Honestly I think 16 is the perfect age to realize it was a mess in retrospect but not feel a ton of guilt over it. She was there to be weird and creepy and she did well, without (from what we saw) going over the top. Creepy, but creepy from a distance and without lunging 😅
look, I get what you're saying, and you make a valid point, but like, are you just forgetting being randomly traumatized out of absolutely nowhere while looking for a family friendly experience of chocolate and fun is the canonical description of Willy Wonka? Slavery, body-horror, the fires of hell burning as you ride a boat down a dark tunnel with a mysterious man you've never met before displaying ever-increasing symptoms of severe mental illness - honestly if there *_wasn't_* some random and completely unexpected child kidnapping demon chocolate maker that would probably be the weirder reality. The old testament puts the fear of god in you, but Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory puts the fear of chocolate in you.
@@robonator2945 I'm not OP but I get you. Counterpoint though, the kids in Willy Wonka that get traumatized do something to bring that on. Demanding things out of entitlement is the cause for most of them. You could argue the punishments are severe for a kid for sure, but the point is they screw around and find out. No one is terrorizing them at the literal *entrance.* They're also older than the mostly toddlers you see in every video of this event, but it's not like the organizers set an age suggestion so that's less relevant from your POV.
There’s something very heartwarming about this, which shows a perfect contrast to relying heavily on ai generated products that are being described as “the future of art.” And yet the event failed horribly and the thing we liked the most was the actors, the humans, playing a character. The AI may have come up with the unknown, but the costume and person behind it having to be creepy and scary in the videos, hiding behind a mirror was what was funny to us.
Not saying yay or nay for AI but probably the low level AI basic chat GPT and DALL-E 2 maybe that was used was also getting prompts from the “genius” of a low level scammer. Even AI couldn’t make up for that lack of brain power.
HEARTWARMING?! Um, Danny's comical take must be clouding your vision. AI art is the bait that tricked families to come out expecting a whimsical adventure- like they saw in the extravagantly illustrated promos. Splurging on expensive tickets to an immersive fantasy land, only to stumble into a stark warehouse alongside other parents realizing they'd been robbed is awful. Worse, their children were unaware and excited, then confused and scared by the menacing "attractions" the thoughtless scammers tried to pass off as legit. It was disastrous enough to involve the police for chrissake! Anything that riddled with absurd miscalculations is easy to laugh at- to fail so thoroughly takes exceptional incompetence. But realize your perspective has been informed by narration with humorous hindsight. This is mostly a tragedy, a disturbing, scary truth and cautionary warning to heed than anything else if we're really being honest.
Bs. Because u can advertise on ANY way falsely. Even if it were posters created by an artist the hall would be empty af. This has NOTHING to do with AI but with the people creating the event being just foney af. Period
I headcanon that the Unknown is actually a demon from hell who manipulated the ai to manifest him into the script. The actor is not there, the actor is fucking possessed.
3:50 Fun Fact, this isn't Willy Wonka. He's "Willy McDuff" to avoid being sued, despite the Oompa Loompas being called "Wonkiloopas", obviously derived from Wonka.

I got a bit of insider knowledge from my Glaswegian friend (in his own words): 1. The company booked a hell of a lot of high end props, sets in fact. Then didn't pay. Some genius thought "that's ok, we'll pay them from the profits" without actually talking to the prop company. The prop company, (still awaiting payment) did not send anything. This left the staff three days to frantically build Something. This also gave them no time to rehearse. 2. There was meant to be a sponsorship with a local artisan chocolate company, who went bust almost two months before the show opened. Somehow that went unnoticed. 3. Likewise a deal with Barr's for soft drinks fell through after the manager of the event's company was insulting to Barr's.
When literally everything goes wrong and yet you still chose to go ahead. Willy Wonka's actor could have called in sick and they would still attempt to go through with it.

"I'm really shocked that the event had fallen short of the expectations of people on paper." That is SUCH an AI generated line. This bastard used AI to write his APOLOGY as well.
The way it's worded makes it sound as though it was the expectations of people on paper, as in a drawing. I think he meant that the event should've worked on paper, but since the guy in charge was so lazy he couldn't even be bothered to generate a proper apology.

Honestly I feel like meth lab Oompa Loompa needs a fan name, she's great. Also I kind of actually think a comedy show premise involving meth Oompa Loompa and the Unknown could be hilarious. Imagine them being the protagonists of an animated dark comedy where Unknown is a delightfully creepy character a la Beetlejuice and meth Oompa Loompa is his more serious friend who's just done with everything.
The "unknown" is definitely something that would come from an AI script. ChatGPT has a very hard time generating scripts that are based on pre-existing characters or stories. If you ask ChatGPT to generate a story based on a movie you like, it won't actually generate anything based on that movie; it will instead generate a completely unrelated story that uses names or locations from the movie, but they'll be completely out of context. That's probably what happened with the Willy Wonka experience, and that's probably how a character like the unknown made its way into the script.
This reminds me of that episode of Spongebob where Mr. Krabs builds a theme park, hypes it up, and it's just a pile of random garbage vaguely resembling a playground. 😂

Those pictures were honestly very depressing and i feel so bad for any parents with 6 year old kids.
THIS IS LITERALLY SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE ON NATHAN FOR YOU
I live in Scotland (albeit on the east coast so over an hour away from Glasgow!) and the organiser is a known scammer who gets the AI to write "books" which he sells on the internet, and calls himself an "author". 100%
Or maybe that line was talking about an actual guy this whole time…. Maybe the AI knows something we don’t
@@CHESShireCatTim Burton reading this comment, like “FUCK! Why didn’t I see that?” 😂
but why did the keep the unknown?? i would have js left if i was that character
Fun fact: The Unknown was played by a 16 year old girl.
Canonically the Oopma Loompas are paid in chocolate which is not much better 😂

Yeah what were they thinking? The kid's scared little "no" was so sad :/
look, I get what you're saying, and you make a valid point, but like, are you just forgetting being randomly traumatized out of absolutely nowhere while looking for a family friendly experience of chocolate and fun is the canonical description of Willy Wonka?
Have you ever been punched by someone you scared?
There’s something very heartwarming about this, which shows a perfect contrast to relying heavily on ai generated products that are being described as “the future of art.” And yet the event failed horribly and the thing we liked the most was the actors, the humans, playing a character. The AI may have come up with the unknown, but the costume and person behind it having to be creepy and scary in the videos, hiding behind a mirror was what was funny to us.
That's the only good thing that came out of this event, that it serves as a perfect argument against AI dependence
Not saying yay or nay for AI but probably the low level AI basic chat GPT and DALL-E 2 maybe that was used was also getting prompts from the “genius” of a low level scammer. Even AI couldn’t make up for that lack of brain power.
AI can give you fun ideas, but without a human involved 99 times out of 100 it'll either end up bland, confusing, or just unfinished.
Period
