@@Sanbi35 It's from one of the later seasons. They literally get sucked into an episode of Scooby Doo (A Night With Fright is No Delight, for reference sake) but the thing that trapped them has made it so death and injury is possible.

Scooby is a fair dog, for sure. The problem is he's more than use to having his friends around to protect him and vice versa. Courage does almost every dangerous thing by himself to protect the people he cares about, and has way more Toon Force than Scoob does.
Unless they go for composite Scooby, in which case Courage is probably doomed. Composite Scooby-Doo has defeated actually ghosts and monsters, defeated a phantom samurai in combat, teamed up with superheroes almost regularly, held the Goblin Scepter and all the powers of Halloween in his paws, and vanquished an ancient demon with the power of rock and roll alongside Kiss. This dog has been in some positively ridiculous situations
@@ThenewTchannel Courage has defied gods, been disintegrated and reintegrated himself, keeps almost every weapon he ever encounters even if he rarely uses them (they mentioned the God Bone for a reason...), can do pretty much anything he wants to via toon force (scooby does have it but it's more erratic), scooby is mortal (courage is not); Via toon force courage can survive as only a skeleton; courage has used Eustace's Ooga Booga mask, which can terrify anyone into doing anything; Courage is "technically" a rocket scientist; Courage can survive on the surface of the sun... The stuff this dog has survived is ridiculous! It will be kind of funny if they pit that both Courage and Scooby are masters of martials though XD

It was a very vague universal "reset" caused by another of whatever scooby's dimensional alien species was by removing that entity's influence from the time stream. The show itself even seems to hint that the only reason the gang were exempt was because they were a part of the event taking place.
90 percent of scooby's enemies are average people with costumes and machines while Courage has dealt with legitimate eldritch horrors every other Tuesday.

Kind of weak argument when neither beat their strongest foes in a direct fight and scooby had quality of quantity with the evil entity being more powerful than anything courage has faced

Universal scaling existing for scooby while courage at best gets to large star
Scooby has two things going for him that I think is going to give him the win on this the first is the abundance of source material that makes it more likely you're going to find crazy things to attribute to him, the second is the Crossovers that he has done which gives you an opportunity to be scaled to characters such as Batman for example

So far it seems like there's no way u can kill Courage due to his level of toonforce. Literally coming back from being nothing. Unless scooby can do the same, he's going to die. I would ve rooting for Scoob but I don't see what he can do to win

I loved both Scooby Doo and Courage growing up, but I must say that Courage is mostly likely gonna defeat Scooby. For starters, while Courage is easily scared, he’s actually the bravest character on his show (Eustace is the real coward). Courage usually faces his fears when it comes to fighting evil monsters and villains and rescuing his loving owner Muriel. Scooby Doo does have some skills of his own, but the catch is that he often relies on earning Scooby Snacks to build up his confidence.
the only question for me is can courage actually hit schooby. As schoobs is great at getting away. you are correct but I want to see schoobs speed and endurance feets first as even if courage can attack without much motivation can he actually land a killing blow and if so how reliably before schooby can land his own.

@@zebjensen4251 It's dependent on what Scooby source Death Battle is sticking to. It does seem that they are using A Pup Named and Be Cool as sources which are the more cartoony and out there of the series so it will probably result in scaling to Scooby Doo at his Doo craziest.
That and the Threats Courage faces ARE REAL; in Scooby's case, they are FAMOUSLY fakes and hoaxes with few exceptions.

Right now, I think Courage gets the win, but Scooby crosses over with so many universes and has so much material to dig through, that I wouldn’t be surprised if the Death Battle researchers find something that gives Scooby the victory.

I don’t think Death Battle uses much crossover material unless it is explicitly canon to the overall story. Not to mention that if we include crossovers for Scooby in particular, we’d have to include the one where he actually crossed over WITH COURAGE.
And… honestly, thinking about how that would work gives me a nose bleed.
The way they build up the "Scooby-Doo, where are you" line is too damn funny. It's also interesting to learn about Great Danes.

Both dogs have a sense of toon force abilities, not reality warping but enough for them to get out of anything. Yet if I have to choose any dog to win, it’s Courage.

Courage walked on the surface of the sun, faced far greater supernatural threats than scooby, has greater toon force and survived freak outs where he literally falls to pieces, loses his skin or has his skeleton pop out of his body.

@@charlotteshenkenberger345 Oh I forgot there’s a theory about there being no monsters in Courage the cowardly dog, the monsters we see in the show are said to be just normal human visitors, but are seen as monsters by a dog that doesn’t get to see the outside world much because his owners are old and can’t take him out for longer walks.

Courage gets scared of his shadow, runs through Scooby, SPLAT. I can see that happening honestly
While Scooby also has his fair share of having dealt with actual supernatural stuff (even defeating a ghost once samurai style), his foes 90% of the time are regular people pulling tricks to scare people, from which Scooby runs to the hills for.
On the other hand, Courage's foes are ALL of the supernatural AND extraterrestrial variety. And despite his cowardice, Courage has stopped, saved his familg and defeated: several alien invasions, Le Quack and Katz, countless ghosts, a demon matress, a giant gorilla, giant whale, a mutated Eustace, his rogue gallery teaming up on him. Not to mention the two scariest entities in cartoon history: the WEREMOLE and KING RAMSES!

I will say, Scooby has some good victories under his belt
- Defeated The Ancient Evil when it took over Crystal Cove (and the rest of the world)
- Outsmarted the original Mystery Incorporated (with help from his friends of course)
- Defeated real versions of previous bad guys (Tar Monster, Pterodactyl Ghost, Miner 49’er, The Zombie, ETC)
- Defeated the Black Samurai without any prior training as a sword-fighter
- Defeated a plethora of Batman villains over the years, such as The Joker (who has the durability of… well, a madman), The Penguin, Harley Quinn, and Solomon Grundy (who can lift over 100 tons)
- He was able to solve a mystery all on his own (well he did have other cartoon mascots alongside him, but he was the one leading the group)… (Though, this scenario was in his mind)
- He’s led an Olympic team in the Laff-A-Lympics (though the games had questionable judging standards)
- He bodyslammed a costumed villain so hard, it caused a WWE wrestling ring to collapse
- He bested an evil wizard who was powered up by the demonic energy of the Goblin King of Halloween (… No, seriously 😂)

Well, they pretty much just said they're going to use every piece of Scooby media they possibly can (otherwise why mention how much media he's been in over the years?), which means this might be a fair fight after all. But also, it means these two might be contenders to break the rules of Death Battle and just refuse to kill each other, and honestly this is the only time I'd like to see that happen. Besides, I don't know how else two characters with so many classic toonforce feats are supposed to kill each other anyway.

they're both evenly matched they can shapeshift and have toon logic and despite being total scardey cats they will do anything for their loved ones yes scooby still deals with people in costumes but has faced actual demons and dragons giant robots and superheroes but I think this is gonna end in a tie

Other than that, this Death Battle is going to be hard to decide. Scooby and Courage both are scared of monsters but has fought against them. So we will see.

I definitely favor Courage over Scooby, but Scooby has a really large portfolio due to being around more often over the the many decades he's been around. I definitely haven't seen close to everything. He does seem relatively more witty than Courage who often times comes out of a mess through luck and doesn't even always technically wins. But the things Courage faces are far more powerful and terrifying than the majority of those costume monsters. Still Scooby works in a team, most importantly works best with his pal Shaggy. If he's not here it's an uphill battle for him. Courage is used to working solo. So yeah I still favor Courage.

As soon as I saw this news on Scooby vs. Courage, I literally was so surprised and OMG, these two Cartoon Network shows have been my top favorites growing up and I love them so much especially the characters Scooby & Courage. Am I excited to see this match-up? Yes I am. Am I literally ready to see one of them get killed off in Death Battle? No, I'm LITERALLY not ready for that, they should pull the "Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie" move on them and allow both to survive, they're beloved characters and neither shouldn't die. My childhood can't take it if one of them get killed.

The legal cliffnotes for the ad were as long as the ad itself lol After a while it started sounding like a running gag.
I liked both cartoons growing up. In my opinion Courage has this. Scooby mostly works either with Shaggy or with another member of the group and rarely goes at it alone. He's always scared needing scooby snacks and it doesn't help when Shaggy gets scared too. Most of Scooby's opponents are just regular people in costumes (he has faced non human entities before (for example in scooby doo and the werewolf I think it's called where he had to deal with count dracula but even then he didn't fight him that much). Courage on the other hand, has to deal with monsters, aliens and other evil entities almost daily. All the while trying to protect he's owner Murial (and sometimes Eustace but not always, most of the time he just gets in Courage's way) and all this ON HE'S OWN, he might get some advice from a computer but other then that he's on he's own. Like Scooby he gets scared easily (again Eustace loves to do this) but unlike Scooby he usally works up the courage to face the problem (especially if Murial is in danger), he's even shown to put himself in harms ways to protect her and many times has taken a BEATING and still got up and continued even against a by far more dangerous foe.
Scooby's only advantage over courage is he's size and being able to fool others with disguises. Courage on the other hand, is braver, had dealt with by far more dangerous foes
and has shown many times to take a beating and still keep going and doesn't need to rely on others as much as scooby, he's much more experienced to a 1 on 1 fight. Finally I think Courage is more intelligent then scooby (this is more debatable but Courage has shown to use a computer, has driven various vehicles and think up of plans to win, all of these Scooby has either relied on others to do or has almost hardly any experience in himself.
So in my eyes, Courage wins hands down.
