      *Languages and dialects.
Languages - medium of conversation where one person who is using Language A would have a hard time coversing with a person who only knows Language B. Like, Tagalog, Cebuano, Kapampangan, Bicolano, Ilocano, Hiligaynon, Chavacano, etc.
Dialects - there are few, sometimes plenty, of differing words but the sentence structure is generally the same and it can be understood by two people who are not using each others' dialect, like Tagalog-Tagalog, Tagalog-Batangas, Leyte-Cebuano, Davao-Cebuano, Chavacano (Cavite), Chavacano (Zamboanga), etc.

Hahaha they were not talking about regular lizards, they were talking about geckoes, which really do sound like that. That's why we have very similar onomatopoeiae around Southeast Asia, down to the tones even though Indonesian and Filipino are not tonal. The second sound Prae and Amelia were making was of the regular house lizards which are smaller and less scary than geckoes. This is awesome because sometimes we forget that people in other regions of the world don't have the same experience that we share here in Southeast Asia.
