- Olivia Jade appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk on Facebook Watch on Tuesday and opened up about the college admissions scandal for the first time. Both of the 21-year-old beauty influencer’s parents, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, are currently serving their prison sentences after pleading guilty in May to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and honest services wire and mail fraud. During the talk show, Olivia opens up about her parents going to prison.

Even if she felt nervous, she didn't express any real feelings of remorse/guilt/sadness for her situation and her mother being in jail. If my mom went to jail, even if I know my mom was wrong and deserves to be in jail, I'd shed tears because I love my mom and would hate that my mother willingly put herself in a situation where she will be punished and criticized for a crime she committed.

Not true. I know privileged people who know exactly what kind of privileges they have. (50k cars at 15 ready and waiting as soon as they got their licence, trusts, etc). Smiling is a coping mechanism for many people who suffer from anxiety, I get it myself. I can imagine how nervous and anxious she was at the interview, she even stated her heart was racing, that's a panic attack, not cockiness.

I have a learning disability and it was really hard to get into college because my SAT scores were so low, even though my GPA was really high. I barely got into college, but this small college accepted me and when I found out that they cheated their way into college, it kind of felt like a punch in my stomach. I worked so hard in school, and they didn’t have to do anything to get into the college they wanted to get into. However, I do respect her admitting her mistakes, and not acting like the victim.
What we’re not gonna do is sit here and pretend that Olivia had no idea what her parents were doing for her. Girl bye!!!

You can tell by her mannerisms when she interacts with people that she is used to literally batting those lashes, looking at you with big brown eyes and saying "I'm sorry" and it doing the trick. The part that sucks is it probably will work, and she will continue on having her fabulous life without ever having to face how terrible she is. You know - I think the fact that she's admitting she's got privilege and that she didn't realise how lucky she was - or understand what was wrong with the situation rather than making excuses is a really good thing. The other case I turned up involved multiple charges (including drug charges) and a prior criminal record, so comparing sentences there isn't really useful.

Let’s be honest here, I think we all know where this “apology” is stemming from. Not because of what was done, but because they got caught. I’m sure if she felt how she’s claiming to feel she would’ve never taken that route. And she would’ve actually worked hard to get into usc. She’s just as much to blame as her parents, and from this interview it seems like she took little to no accountability.
