I just can’t stop thinking about that young man or woman who maybe was in their last year of high school working like three jobs to get ahead (and still getting a decent GPA) only to have their rightful spot taken by these kids..
"Rightful spot?" No one is owed a spot in anything, but I agree that hardworking kids deserve a fair shot at getting into college, yes.
@@mugen3603 Well, if someone else was cheating because they weren't good enough, they were taking the place of another person that would've been given the place. It's not about a slumber party, it's about college. People have to get an education in order for society to work. So I do think some people are owed a spot when they meet all the criteria, which Lori's daughters didn't.

If there are 1000 qualified applicants (all hardworking, all smart, all meeting the criteria, all of the same socioeconomic background) and only 100 available spots, how do you give each kid their due? Every spot that is filled deprives another deserving kid of that same spot. Just being hardworking isn't enough and doesn't automatically mean you are entitled to a spot. Even if these cheaters weren't in the picture, there are thousands of hardworking kids everywhere. That's why I said they all deserve a "fair shot" at getting into college, but they aren't owed a spot. Equal opportunity is good. Equity, no.
Btw, college is overrated. Half of all graduates don't even find employment in their field of study. Society can function just fine without colleges and universities. Kids these days are better off going to vocational schools and learning a useful trade.

I hope these people pay for what they did tremendously. Both parents AND kids. As someone who just recently got through the whole college process and applying, this pisses me off so much! School has never come easy to me and i have had to bust my ass 3x harder than my peers so i could still get good grades and test scores. These rich people are pathetic.

I went full time work/college to be able to pay for my classes and have zero savings. I didn't manage to get to the top schools due to zero funds so I went to the ones that accepted me for my high gpa. This is fucked up that they just pay their way to get a degree that they don't deserve and even care for it.
The kids knew it all along and they were totally on board with it as long as money buys futures. Lol
