it took me so long to listen to this new album and idk why, I love it so much. It feels very natural and I absolutely love it. I think a portrait of an ugly man is my favorite album by them

I dont know how to describe it but this feels so much more full and natural compared to the last record. I prefer there Greatest hits album by far but mad respect to Remo Drive for sticking to what feels good to them and not what they are being told to do by there fans.
Yeah I respect them staying true to themselves. I am just not a fan of their new sound whatsoever :(
@@ObiWanKenobi True. For me they are abandoning what I love so much about them. Songs like "Trying 2 Fool U" or "Name Brand" just felt so vulnerable compared to this.
The guitar riffs in this song are so smooth
I honestly think their original drummer is the reason that Greatest Hits was so good and so lively.
Obi-Wan Kenobi to be fair the drummer they have now is easily just as good (Sam Becht) I think they just lost the sense of goofiness and fun they used to have, and erik’s songwriting is gotten a little more formulaic
Bad Channel Sam Becht is no doubt a beast of a drummer. But I remember reading in an AMA reddit for Remo Drive a few years ago, Erik said that Sam Mathys played a big part in the song structure for most of the songs on Greatest Hits. I think that’s why it’s more formulaic now that he’s gone because Mathys was probably the one behind all the fun breakdowns in those songs (I’m My Own Doctor, Hunting For Sport, Yer Killin Me, etc)

Sam Becht you have so much talent man, SINCERELY. These guys got you playing 1-2-3-4 slack chop. Always loved hearing you go crazy on the drums. Bro, you can SLAP. And its hella anime OP unlike anyone else (*compliment). Idgaf about what happened in the past but I hope to hear it again in the future.

Remo Drive really came a long way, and I'm digging this B-rock style over their older one
I personally don’t like comparing a bands new sound to their old sound. Everyone explores new things, new sounds. This is GOOD music. Love it!

Happy to see them still creating but I’ll never forget hearing them in a cramped up venue while they were touring greatest hits. That really meant something to those who were there. Given there sound whether it’s pushed by the label or completely in their own interest no one besides us who were at those early shows will ever get that again. But keep rocking it remo drive I hope you find continuous joy in your music.

I don't get the hate really. They still sound pretty indie and are coming up with more mature music with each release. Idk maybe it's just me but I love how Remo have been progressing. Can't wait for the new album

I love the new album! I've been bumping it a lot at work the past couple days. Still prefer Greatest Hits but I love how they are doing what they want and not being confined to what made people like them in the first place.

And Erik’s voice on this album is just fantastic. Yes I do miss his screaming angsty vocals in greatest hits but his vocals on this and Ode to joy 2 are simply beautiful.
Love the new style. Reminds me of my own styles that take inspiration from many genres including emo but not just emo.

I fell in love with this song so fast. People are entitled to their own opinion, but I don’t care that this isn’t the same sound as their earlier music. The last album I wasn’t a fan of, but can enjoy a few songs off of it. I have high hopes for this upcoming album. I LOVE the new sound, and the lyrics of this song, god... I think they’re doing great, exploring their artistic, musical craft. I love this song so much and once again, I’m so excited for the new album, can’t wait to hear more of what they’ve been working on ❤️

This new sound is growing on me
I enjoy this change or odd turn in music. Don't get me wrong I fucking fell in love with their previous erratic, truth filled, screaming, loud, and angry songs about what the world seemed to them. That was when Remo was younger. Most people loved the young Remo Drive. Guy here,me, whose still young and filled with anger and screams, related to the young Remo Drive. But I see that they grew up. I am growing up. Growing up sometimes means leaving loudness, anger behind, and not being a screaming prick that thinks being loud makes them feel heard. I'm going to deep into this but it's my honest thought. But I'm still going to scream when I grow up. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.

It's grown on me a little more upon a few more listens, this new direction just isn't overly exciting or hard hitting as their old stuff. Good, just not great.
@@yaboibeans i think we should wait for more songs. there might be a few that you end up liking as much as their earlier stuff. cause the same thing happened to me with the strokes and the 1975. they released some songs that didnt sound like their old sound. but it grew on me.

I understand bands having to take their sound into different directions as they get older or don't want to play the same type of music anymore, I get that. But what in the world happened here to Remo Drive? Greatest Hits was such a landmark album honestly and it just surprises me that the second album they made doesn't even sound like the same band anymore. Totally different songwriting, performing, mixing and mastering, it just doesn't make any sense. I've tried again and again to give natural everyday degradation a listen but I just have to stop like 3-4 songs in cause it just doesn't grab me the same way Greatest Hits did. No disrespect to erik or stephen or sam, but you guys really just aren't the same band you were on your first album. Much love
