@@TaniaAlemide Ultimately you're not proven guilty on what the police think about you, but rather what evidence they have, they can be 100% sure you're the culprit but if there's no evidence there's no way for you to get convicted. If you talk you may be able to make the police think you're not the culprit (potentially turning their attention elsewhere), but anything you've said could be used to build a case against you if they decide you're most likely the culprit, and that's the best case, in the worst case you could (and very likely would) make yourself look more guilty. If you however choose to lawyer up then you may look more guilty, but there's no way for you to accidentally incriminate yourself.

IDK about the rest of you, but I find it disturbing how the police seems to actively try to trick the suspect into waiving their 5th amendment rights. There's always a part in these videos where the narrator says "now the police does this and that so the suspect doesn't ask for a lawyer", as if the Constitution is some nuisance and the police skirts around to follow the letter of it instead of respecting its spirit. If and actual criminal confesses because of it that's good, but I think there's a reason why we have those rights to begin with. It's a fact that plenty of innocent people go to prison (provably innocent, as in people who are later proven innocent), and I have a feeling this police tactic has a lot to do with it

  • @c.w.simpsonproductions1230

I'm sure you have good intentions, but this has heavy connotations of victim blaming. And we all know who this is primarily addressed to: women. Men get stupid drunk all the time, and they don't get told not to in case they become victims of a crime, yet women are told to change their behavior all the time which simply isn't fair nor equal. Instead of focusing on what victims can do differently, like not living their lives to the fullest or limiting their freedom, we need to take a serious look at the predatory men who target women and what we can do to address the source of the problem.

@@hazard3483 Thats what my first post was all about. People constantly confuse it when i read the internet. Even some psychologists repeat this bollocks.
Narcissist has no ego. He has no sense of self importance in this world. He has no identity at all... Someone with a big ego would have a very specified identity, quite a narrow one in a good sense. Also quite closed boundaries whereas a narcissist does not have any personal boundaries. You can approach him and insult him or spit in his face on the street and.... you will see no reaction. He doesnt have dignity, he doesnt feel offened (although he feels humilliated).
Someone with big ego today, also had many friends in the past, there were many events that created memories.
A narcissist? There were no event in his childhood, he had no friends (0 exactly). He was abused entire childhood by his narcissistic parents and bullied by his peers. He was completely isolated. This is how you create a narcissist.
To be more specific , THE ONLY reason that made someone a narcissist is isolation. There is no other reason for developing this disorder. No general abuse can make you a narcissist. No mental, no verbal, no sexual. ONLY lack of contacts with people from an early age.
I will quote one of the psychologist : "an ego does not develop in a vacuum". That just proves that what i write is correct. You cannot develop without interaction with other people...
Narcissism is not just another disorder, it is not even another personality disorder. It is a development disorder in a way. You are stuck in a limbo, without an identity.
This is also the reason this disorder is 100% permanent. No there is no cure and there will be none even in 1000 years. Once you are a narcissist, thats is. Game over. None of us have a time machine.
Last thing that i wouldto repeat-someone that has a really big ego IS NOT capable of doing really evil things. Only those without an ego or with a "broken ego" are. Narcissist has no ego, psychopath has no ego. Borderlines have "broken ego" but they are not too far gone, not in a limbo. They can recover.
Any other things that you would like to discuss?

"Just by telling you this," "I've lost everything." No, you still have your life. It may be spent behind bars, but you still have a beating heart and breathe in your lungs. Chelsea is the one whom lost everything. Her mother lost a dear child, something that can never be replaced. Your mother can still see you, hear your voice, read your letters. Chelsea's mother will never have any of that, ever again. Sad, very sad.

I respect the detectives going above and beyond to get the truth spoken for the victims who can't speak, and for the families who need closure, though it does seem a little risky how they lied to him about not being able to get a lawyer so late in the day.
When suspects ask for legal counsel they technically shouldn't try to sway them from their decision once they ask, but I am seeing in so many of these interrogation videos where suspects are asking for legal counsel in one clearly spoken way or another and are ignored or coerced often multiple times.
I just watched another video about a guy named Greg who killed his parents in their bed while they slept over some inheritance and when they brought him in he straight away asked if he could get legal advice.. they ignored him as he asked time and time again for probably a half hour or more, telling him he would get the death sentence if he didn't confess, telling him they were giving him a "deal" of a life sentence instead, but that the condition was that he had to take the "deal" there and then and if he got legal advice the "deal" was off and he would get the death penalty.
They can get so locked on to getting a confession that they will often blatantly break the rules and this seems to be a very, if not the most common manner of doing so.
I mean it was pretty obvious to me that he was guilty, and the last thing I would want to see is a guilty person getting away with something so terrible, but on the other hand I'm thinking do the ends always justify the means?
It's a tough one because I wouldn't want a guilty person to get off, but at the same time, there are other cases where innocent people do get caught up in similar positions where they confess to something they might not have done or even had anything to do with at all, because they are scared to get the death penalty or the longer sentence like say life without parole, so they take the "deal" where there is a chance of getting out sooner or some other similar reason.
So I'm kind of on the fence, with mixed feelings, thinking if someone does some terrible crimes like rape or murder and maybe they are good at hiding their tracks, do the detectives have the right to also go the extra mile and bend or break the rules based on their own personal feelings, experience or intuitions? it's hard to say, I mean I'm thinking if it were say your family member or loved one the answer would surely be by all means.. do whatever it takes, but then I think well if that becomes the norm, then there are bound to be mistakes..
Like say for example some scumbag who is known to the authorities for being a certain way inclined, say a predator or sex offender, and happens to either have a similar M.O. or happens to be near the scene of a similar crime in progress.. but maybe it wasn't them, and the detectives have a special place in their hate for them and pin it on them based on that, well even though it puts them back behind bars, it wasn't them, and we don't know if they have reformed, as rare as it is for people like that.. and whoever really did it is still at large..
For this case though, well although it's pretty clear this guy did the crime, I think the standards need to be kept in order to protect those who are innocent getting caught up in something they don't deserve.
Of course that doesn't mean that rules can't be bent or liberties taken, but I think they need to be very carefully considered and weighed up against the situation, and of course only on very rare occasions like this one where they really do know for sure that he was the guilty party, not just say from the outset without gathering all the evidence and really piecing things together first as it is very imperative that the justice is fair and as by the book as possible, otherwise the whole system becomes corrupt.
Glad they caught this guy, it takes a certain type of person to do what he did, don't let the mask fool you with the excuses and the acting sorry, anyone with any amount of humanity doesn't do this to a person, let alone leave her to die alone in agony then dumping her like trash only to go home and pretend it never happened.
If he really felt so sorry for what he done he would have taken accountability for it

Exactly my thoughts. I had to roll my eyes when I heard that.
Like Oh no, you're having a panic attack because you're being questioned about that girl that you took advantage of, and then you brutally murdered her (which most likely caused her immense suffering and fear before she finally stopped feeling anything), hid her body and left her to decompose, all the while her loved ones were going through terrible pain not knowing where she is and what happened to her?! Even though you could've just walked away without hurting her?! Poor you! I feel soooo sorry for you experiencing anxiety!

It really is baffling to me how many guilty people will just agree to talk to police without a lawyer. I've always been told that even if you are 100% innocent you should never talk to police without a lawyer. But I guess a lot of the criminals featured in this aren't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.
