They don’t care about their ads showing up on certain content, that’s why tragedies are highly monetized by them on cable TV, but are against the TOS on KRplus. No creator did anything wrong, because those advertisers were looking for something to point at, and they would’ve found something else offensive if it wasn’t pewdiepie or jake Paul
I instantly loved how humble and real you guys are. I’m also in a similar business and I can totally empathize with the feeling that youre letting down your audience. This video really connected with me because I too lost my father from cancer and I also have depression and anxiety so I feel as if I understand in a way, not all of it but I certainly know it will take time and that is fine, don’t feel as if you have to do anything, you never deserved this backlash from one little ad. Hila gets a pass. However, I am tired of people like Ethan using mental health as a constant scapegoat. I have dealt with depression since I was nine years old, and have never used it as an excuse to justify my actions. I recently stopped hanging out with a group of friends that would huddle with me in the bathrooms of parties to do cocaine with me and start talking about suicide. I think the reason why many people romanticize anxiety and depression is because they want to belong to a sub-culture of tragic artists. It is a deplorable behavior.
There is a big difference between feeling depressed, just to be different or similar to people surrounding you and actually being depressed. By the way Ethan, does not use mental health to justify his actions constantly. If u actually suffered from depression, you should know, that you need to take time and deal with the depression, or other mental disorders that you have.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but your Fathers had time to see his beautiful Daughters. He had time to say goodbye, to look upon both of you pretty things he created and he could leave this existence knowing for sure you loved him and will miss him, and will live on with his kindness in your hearts. Dont cry... He would be so proud of you guys. Cancer is a horrific fucked up part of life on Earth. But try and look at it for what you DID have. And do not focus on what you didnt! Its not a contest what so ever... and I feel horrible saying any of this. My heart just broke for her when I heard that. Losing a parent to cancer is the hardest thing a kid will ever go through (even though Hila is in her 30s, she was and will always be his kid). I hope she and her family are at peace with his passing and that she is able to heal.

Depression is a very serious, very real and debilitating disease that is also very much misunderstood. Those who have been fortunate enough to never have had to suffer through it are often very uneducated on the truth of the matter, and ill-informed, and end up criticizing and belittling us who do/have suffer, calling us lazy and claiming we are just "sad," and need to, "get over it", which is the furthest thing from the reality of the disease, as well as adds to the overall situation nothing but negativity and uncalled for shame. I wanted to thank you, Ethan, for being brave, and sharing your struggle with this misunderstood disease, with the world, because we all need all the support and enlightenment on this overwhelming issue that we can get, tp hopefully help educate people as well as remove the shame and stigmas associated with it. You are both very much appreciated. Also, Hila, I am very sorry for your loss and am sending healing, health, and happiness energy to both you, Ethan, and your families. Peace and love.

I lost a loved one in the 9/11 attacks too, my dog was on the top floor when the second tower fell. I tried to get in the tower to save him but the cops held me back, every night I still hear the trademark bark that he emitted when I got him stoned or gave him a bong rip out of a meth bowl

You could tell Ethan was depressed from a mile away, just by the troubling things he said on the podcast. Yeah, I understand that he's a jokester but it kept getting worse and I was almost going to send an email telling them that I legitimately thought some of the comments were worrisome and he should go see someone for treatment of depression. So, this update doesn't surprise me one bit. I also didn't think the video game was a big deal. Every free game on the app store has some form of p2p, but the game looked legitimately fun and they put in the effort to promote it in their usual goofy way + original music!!! Looked like a super well thought-out game with a lot of effort behind it. So, Ethan, please get help. Whether it be therapy, meds, and/or a combination, and know that not all of us are upset by the game.

Losing a loved one can be debilitating. I lost my grandfather back in 2010 when I was 16. He lived with us along with my grandmother for about 13 years before that, so it felt like I had lost a parent, a father figure. I was already going through a rough time, dealing with some kind of mental illness, which ended up being bi-polar disorder. Losing my grandfather sent me into, as you said, a "black hole". It sent me on a reckless downward spiral. It took about 3 years to get my feet back under me. The best thing you can do is make time for yourself. Do what you need to do to make yourself better. Fuck what your fans want honestly. If they care about you, they'd understand, even if you fell off the face of the Earth. I hope you're both doing better now. I've been holding onto something I've wanted to send you both for a year or so now. Maybe it'll help inspire you in someway, it's a throw back to an older video. I'll send it out soon. My heart goes out to both of you. As the Beach Boys once sang, "Sail on, sail on sailor".

Google has successfully destroyed the heart in so many creators it's not funny. I'm wondering if they fully understand the damage thats been done by their machine learning processes. Are they trying to kill off their own video site because it sure feels that way. And lets remember this nightmare was triggered by PewDiePie, Logan Paul and a few others who had lost the plot. Once the advertiser confidence was lost the whole site imploded. Why did Google punish everyone for the actions of a few rogue producers. Thats what I don't understand.

The advertisers pulling out of KRplus was all a political move. They don’t care about their ads showing up on certain content, that’s why tragedies are highly monetized by them on cable TV, but are against the TOS on KRplus. No creator did anything wrong, because those advertisers were looking for something to point at, and they would’ve found something else offensive if it wasn’t pewdiepie or jake Paul

Hila gets a pass. However, I am tired of people like Ethan using mental health as a constant scapegoat. I have dealt with depression since I was nine years old, and have never used it as an excuse to justify my actions. I recently stopped hanging out with a group of friends that would huddle with me in the bathrooms of parties to do cocaine with me and start talking about suicide. I think the reason why many people romanticize anxiety and depression is because they want to belong to a sub-culture of tragic artists. It is a deplorable behavior.
There is a big difference between feeling depressed, just to be different or similar to people surrounding you and actually being depressed. By the way Ethan, does not use mental health to justify his actions constantly. If u actually suffered from depression, you should know, that you need to take time and deal with the depression, or other mental disorders that you have.

Depression is a very serious, very real and debilitating disease that is also very much misunderstood. Those who have been fortunate enough to never have had to suffer through it are often very uneducated on the truth of the matter, and ill-informed, and end up criticizing and belittling us who do/have suffer, calling us lazy and claiming we are just "sad," and need to, "get over it", which is the furthest thing from the reality of the disease, as well as adds to the overall situation nothing but negativity and uncalled for shame.
I wanted to thank you, Ethan, for being brave, and sharing your struggle with this misunderstood disease, with the world, because we all need all the support and enlightenment on this overwhelming issue that we can get, tp hopefully help educate people as well as remove the shame and stigmas associated with it. You are both very much appreciated.

You could tell Ethan was depressed from a mile away, just by the troubling things he said on the podcast. Yeah, I understand that he's a jokester but it kept getting worse and I was almost going to send an email telling them that I legitimately thought some of the comments were worrisome and he should go see someone for treatment of depression. So, this update doesn't surprise me one bit. I also didn't think the video game was a big deal. Every free game on the app store has some form of p2p, but the game looked legitimately fun and they put in the effort to promote it in their usual goofy way + original music!!! Looked like a super well thought-out game with a lot of effort behind it. So, Ethan, please get help. Whether it be therapy, meds, and/or a combination, and know that not all of us are upset by the game.

Losing a loved one can be debilitating. I lost my grandfather back in 2010 when I was 16. He lived with us along with my grandmother for about 13 years before that, so it felt like I had lost a parent, a father figure. I was already going through a rough time, dealing with some kind of mental illness, which ended up being bi-polar disorder. Losing my grandfather sent me into, as you said, a "black hole". It sent me on a reckless downward spiral. It took about 3 years to get my feet back under me. The best thing you can do is make time for yourself. Do what you need to do to make yourself better. Fuck what your fans want honestly. If they care about you, they'd understand, even if you fell off the face of the Earth. I hope you're both doing better now. I've been holding onto something I've wanted to send you both for a year or so now. Maybe it'll help inspire you in someway, it's a throw back to an older video. I'll send it out soon. My heart goes out to both of you. As the Beach Boys once sang, "Sail on, sail on sailor".
