      @syncringe1885 4 개월 전 +8

      @@Atomicitalia Stress testing in a real world environment vs lab can show different results. Especially depending on certain locational differences. With him they can have a variety of repeated tests just from him having it. IE repeated movements over a few years. Due to hacksmith they can learn if it creates something such as a vibration that could be harmful to either the product, the attachment point, or the potential for the person.. Things like that. Another thing is how long will it last with what can be somewhat expected as standard use vs actual use. If they run lab tests with what they believe would be standard use and he uses it differently. Well to put it in terms I actually understand. Its like having the devs play a game vs the public. The public will find a lot more bugs than the devs 99% of the time.

    It's incredible how quickly he got it to work. His reaction was priceless and I hope more lucky people will get to have one of these. I'm 37 years old and I remember clearly when I was a kid I saw a man with a hook and I asked my mom why nobody was making robotic hand that would use the remaining muscles/nerves to make a working hand. It was 25 years ago. I guess I was ahead of my time because this is basically what i had in mind as a kid/teen. Next step would be a working wrist, and some force feedback for the user to measure the grip. I know they have something about the force feedback, but I'm not sure it's ready yet. I'd love to speak to them and ask a ton of questions to know how it works.

That project of yours is massive with an actual arm inside. And you got a friend now who can actually use a hydraulic arm but compact human size inside a shell , one that can lift reasonable humane weight so it wont require huge amount of batteries. Call it Mark II version of your Mark I arm. Then maybe a Mark III version that works on senses from nerves. I remember a guy on TED , he demonstrated an arm of a person moving or reacting to electric signals generated from arm of another person. Mark IV can have built in mobile like Buzz the lightyear 😅

    Love this! This is what success and innovation should be used for. You can see just how happy he is and how quickly it is changing him. At 17:50, you can see him already starting to talk with both hands where the prosthetic is almost matching what his right hand is doing. Its crazy!

    It's crazy the feelings you get when you see Jesse so amazed and happy about grabbing something with his hand, when it's something you do daily without a care in the world. It makes me remember that we can't take everything for granted, and to be grateful of everything we have, no matter how small it may seem.
    And of course, it also reminds me of how amazing you guys are, and that there are many good things that can and have to be done. I better keep focusing on doing that in my own way too. I don't know if I'll get to do big things like you guys are, but I sure as hell will try my best. Thank you for sharing and keep going, you are doing BEAUTIFUL things.

    In 1999 when I was a senior, for my end of the year biology project I designed a bionic hand that had titanium skeleton, polymer muscles and microfilament wire to connect it to the nerves and make the muscles fire. Teflon tendons, too. I built a mock up of it from balsa and fiber model airplane hinges, and used elastic and servos with twine to act as the muscles and tendons.

Such an overlooked community. You guys chose probably the best myoelectric hand out there. I’ve met the CEO and founder once before and he’s a super cool and knowledgeable guy! Keep it up!

    This is the best video you guys have ever made. The best project you've ever done.
    Oh don't get me wrong, I love all the cool pop culture stuff. The lightsabers are rad. The Iron man helmet and repulsor? Super cool. The batcave? Awesome.
    But this had an impact that will reach far more than just Jessie. This is humanitarian work, and there is nothing more important, inspiring, or worthy of praise than that.
    I've always been a big fan of Hacksmith Industries, even when it was still "The Hacksmith." But this is the most proud I've ever been to be a fan. This simple kindness is exactly what the world needs. And you guys should be proud to have fostered that at Hacksmith Industries.

    A few years ago I was playing an mmorpg and learned that one of my guildmate was born with only 1 arm, and he was one of the best player I known, if I had a choice to choose to take him in a party or someone with nearly twice as more gear, I'll still chose him...
    No idea what he became as we both stopped playing the game but man...

    This was sweet, guys. I lost the use of my dominant hand at 27 due to medical error on a simple surgery (I still have my hand, but only 30% use and bad chronic pain). I know first hand (bad pun) how wonderful and life changing it would be.

    That's actually brilliant. For a while, I wondered what could be used for fine tuning on a personal level when it comes to standardized bionics and anything that intercepts brain signals is WAY too in-depth to be useful, but LITERALLY ALMOST EVERYONE carries a tiny over-engineered computer in their pocket that can be used as a processing booster to bionic limb calculations. It doesn't even need to be WiFi connected, so you could, theoretically, drive through a subterranean tunnel without losing connection during a drive with TWO hands.

    Would have loved to see more footage including his prosthetist (yes, that was the correct word) who did the shape capture of the residuum and fabricated the checksocket.
    There are also other bionic hands on the market which are very similar to the Psyonic such as the BeBionic and the Michelangelo.
