In this episode a big surprise is waiting for us in Pyongyang. At the end of the day we will celebrate New Year's Eve on Kim Il-Sung square and I can tell you I've never seen something like this before. In fact, North Korea has never organized something like this before. Of course our day started with the normal itinerary in Pyongyang, such as the Grand People's Study House, Mangyongdae Birthhouse Kim Il-Sung, Pyongyang department store, and a bowling center. Enjoy!

이날 밤 저희는 김일성 광장에서 새해 전야를 보냈습니다! 진짜 살면서 이런건 처음봤어요... 실제로 북한에서 이런 콘서트를 처음으로 기획했다고해요. 물론 처음에는 일반적인 북한 투어로 시작을 했어요. 인민대학당이나 김일성 생가, 북한 백화점 그리고 볼링장도 다녀왔어요!

잘산다고 보이는 평양조차도 지금 우리나라 80 90년도급처럼 보이네요. 평양밖은 아직도 625전쟁에서 시간이 멈춰져있을듯...
90년대서울도 저기보이는 평양보다 더 선진도시였음 .. 딱 서울 80년대초반모습이네요
저는 이영상보고놀람. 내생각보다 더 잘 즐기고 돈을 ㄹㅇ화려한폭죽, 무대 등에쓰고 좋아서
그리고여혐,성차별도 볼수잇었음.

79년도랑 비슷함 수준이 90년대랑은 하늘과 땅 차이지
무슨 80 90 년대야 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 지금 지어진 전국의 빌딩의70%가 90년도까지 지어진 건물인데 70년대 수준밖에 안됨 평양전체 고층빌딩숫자가 서울은커녕 강남의 빌딩1/10도 안되보임 그리고 공연하는거 복장촌스러움으로 따지면 60년대보다 더심각함
참고로 저것도 보여주기식이라는거...ㅎㅎ
여행을 갓다 온 건 맞는데... 이 느낌은 마치
북조선판 트루먼쇼에 주연으로 출연하신 듯~

맞아요. Already in Pyongyang electricity is scarce, many people have problems heating their place. Pyongyang looks good on the eye, but who knows how it looks behind the scene in people's homes. In the previous and next episode you will/can see Sariwon, Kaesong and Nampo as well. 😊

영상속 사람들 상대적 액면가가 젊은걸 보면 평양인구 조차도 수명이 짧다는거임.
18:56분부터 나오는 멘트는 "형상요소들 계속 동작해야 됩니다. 형상요소들 계속 동작하십시오. 레이저 화면도 끄지 말고, 모든 형상요소들 계속 동작해야 됩니다. 레이저 살려야 해요(혹은 살리라요)."입니다. '형상요소'는 북한에서 구조물 작품을 가리키는 말입니다. "Contour elements must continue to operate. Continue to operate the contour elements. Do not turn off the laser screen as well, and all contour elements must continue to operate. You have to save (activate) the laser."

저 행사가 자국민을 겨냥한게 아니란 걸 적나라하게 보여주는듯한 말이네요.
16:56 말을 걸려고 할때마다 데려가는 모습은 영화 트루먼쇼에서도 동일한 장면이 나오죠.
생각해보면 정말 무시무시한 장면 아닌가요?
촬영자도 인식하지 못한 것 같은데, 관광객 주위로 수십명의 보위부 요원들이 안보이게 감시하고 있었다는 거잖아요.
북한은 그런 나라입니다. 우리가 안심하는 순간 언제 점령될지 모릅니다.

When I was filming I tried to respect their rules and the North Koreans as much as possible. Try to look into the eyes to see if it's fine to film. For sure it's not possible to film military and construction buildings (although I did a few times, but not on purpose)! I think that is the secret. If you are not sure if it's ok to film you can always ask them (what I did all the time). Sorry for my English answer!!

찍을때 최대한 걔네 규칙을 따랐어요. 찍어도 되는지 잘 살펴보세요. 군사시설이나 건설중인 건물은 찍으면 안돼요.(사실 저도 몇번 찍었는데, 일부러 그런건 아니에요!) 이게 노하우인 것 같네요. 찍어도 되는지 안되는지 잘 모르겠으면 걔네(북한)한테 물어보세요. (저는 항상 물어봄) 영어로 답변해서 죄송합니다!!

저번에 현송월 한국와서, 왜 사람들이 마스크 쓰고 다니냐고 물어본 거 보면 북한사람들은 미세먼지에 대해서 아예 모르고 있는건 분명한 것 같다
중국이랑 친한 것도 있고 아무래도 전달받을 수단도 없다는게 참 안타깝네요

There is one thing to not forget: if you live in Pyongyang, you are already part of the elite. Vetted, vetted again, and only if you have a track record of being totally loyal, you will be able to live in Pyongyang.
So the authorities have no reason to worry - the citizens don't wanna be kicked out so they probably won't do anything that upsets the state too much.
So while i don't think the whole crowd is 'secret service', there will be many party members, high military officials and such in the crowd.
The only country in the world that "let" tourists do something.

네 괜잖아요! If I make the video with respect for the Korean people it is OK. For example I am not allowed to show military or construction sites to obvious. So I didn't do that. Also I should not put some faces to much in screen, like tour guides etc. If I comply to those rules it shouldn't be a problem to upload videos about North Korea. 영어로 미안해요! 감사합니다!!
