      pullups are the way to go bro, theyre the best exercise for back hands down, is tarted with pull ups in the park when gyms were shut, my back is now a strong point and i can do many weighted pull ups

      @@hsimons181 If you're gifted and/or young, concentrating on traditional pull-ups might work. I wish people would stop saying just do pull-ups and then add weights. It won't work very well for most.
      I'm neither, and used to believe the old conventional wisdom that pull-ups were the best and primary thing needed. I had little success and over time found there's no studies that confirm this old conventional wisdom about superiority of traditional pull-ups. If you have imbalances and/or are older, they can be highly problematic. Ignoring pulley and unilateral work in favor of pull-ups for me eventually led to severe imbalance on my strong side and severe tendonitis on my weak side. A vicious cycle. Partial pull-ups of a similar type as in this video and neutral grip (avoid tendonitis if you're no longer young), supplanted by pulley work and rows has led me to real back development (and balance) finally.

    I agree, these workouts definitely back up the gains. I have been performing pull ups with increased thoracic spine extension to induce isolation of the latissimus dorsi. In addition, I have always performed single arm rows with same side rotation of the T/S, which is a large increase is contraction as well as progressing a single are row to a more functional row as you incorporate sagittal and tranverse planes. It's a remarkable difference and primes increase neural control and lat activation. Good video.
