Better than the "host" who tried to get me to pay for damage done to his countertops that was already there when we arrived. Obviously we had no proof of how anything looked when we got there, so Airbnb actually sided with him. Never again.

The fact that you guys realised that you could end sketches by gradually transitioning into the bloopers is kind of genius.
it does serious heavy lifting to make the tension more accessible to people who are put off by the 'awkwardness' by assuring them it's a joke, AND ending on a chuckle which is probably always good.

One time this happened to me except the airbnb guy stole my identity to get back at me and forged some paperwork and put my grandma in a home even though my grandma easily has at least 2 good years left in her

I've never been in an Airbnb, but I hope this is the experience I have when I do so.

Maybe I've just been staying at cheaper AirBNBs, but this is like the opposite of my experience. I'll text the guy being like "hey sorry I had the shits last night and your mattress is soaked in diarrhea now" and he'll just be like "yeah whatever I'll hose it off".

Maybe ill try that. I've stayed on 2 airbnbs in my life and both of them the owner was a dick that said i fucked up his house to try charging extra cleaning.
Not wanting to be the next to sleep on it after said shit mattress is just hosed off is why I never use AirBNB lmao.

Dude this just happened to me. No plunger in the house. But pro tip, you gotta pour hot water in and flush and that fixed it for me

The ending always makes me lose it and laugh when they break character. Imagining a guy who’s angry at you trying to “scare” you in that manor is the funniest thing.
I always try to disappear when checking out from Airbnb's to avoid the awkward check out conversations. Sometimes hosts try to have hour long podcasts checking in or out.
Yeah screw that.. When I rented my air bnb with my buddies, a small business owned the house so I didnt have to worry about checking in with anyone physically. If you want me out at a certain time, I'll be out at that time or before. I'm not standing around for another hour talking haha.

My worst Airbnb experiences have always been with hosts that are too friendly. I was staying in one in a tiny town and made the mistake of telling the host I'm a writer and the book I was working on was set in the area. A few days into my stay she calls me and leaves a message saying she gave the mayor my number and that he'd call me to see if I had any questions about the town. Thank christ he never actually called. And then the night before I was to leave she invited me to go with her brother, a complete stranger, to his property to see...the trees? I'm not really sure what it was she wanted me to see, but like, lady, I just want to go home and not end up in a shallow grave in the back of your brother's property.

Jackson really went above and beyond as an Airbnb guest: checking the tensile strength of the shower rod, reorganizing the bookshelf, even disarming the bomb hidden in that painting! He was just about finished making a new custom frame to surprise the host with, too. Such a shame.
Honestly, I don't know how I'd react if someone tried to scare me repeatedly. Thanks for helping me mentally prepare for that possiblity!

I am always way too self-conscious when renting Airbnb, this hits too close to home. On the plus side, at least I'm getting stellar reviews from property owners because I literally never actually enter the premises out of fear of this happening.

Honestly, I still don't trust Air BnBs. I've just heard so many horror stories of getting super disgusting Air BnBs. At least if I check into a Drury Inn I know exactly what I'm gonna get, you know?
What? Roaches. A tv with no good channels. I hard uncomfortable bed. And a shower that feels janky. Maybe spider web or two.
I've been okay so far but I basically only stay in places that already have lota of very good feedback
Airbnb seems to give all the power to the hosts, in my opinion. They charge a tiny fee to the host, and a stupidly large admin fee to the guest (on top of extortionate cleaning fees).
All my experiences with AirBnB have been good ones.

Sketch aside, there are many AirBnB owners like that. If you don't want your place touched, don't rent it. Simple as that.
