baekreasons I think that saying refers to astrology or fortune telling or something, which Christians typically try to avoid. :) If the stars align, that means everything matches up perfectly and it seems like a good situation. So when she said it she wanted to clarify that she didn’t mean it with that context.
@@KcKc13 You are right. It is meant as a joke because as the wife of a Christian prriest, she technically should not say that "the stars aligned". And because she knows that, she makes fun of that, because she apparently isn't a strict Christian when it comes to those things. Because to say "the stars aligned" is also a normal English idiom everyone says. Only hyper strict Christians would maybe not say that. Cause they would believe that only God has arranged something. Not some "stars". I think that is, how it was meant. 😊 So you are right.

All that we know is they became friends in high school and then started dating and then got married (I believe during or after uni).
My husband was a Baptist pastor. He used to tell our congregation that he never went to bed mad at me-he stayed up a few nights-but never went to bed mad. He loved to laugh as you guys do. There was laughter in our home every day, which I miss terribly.

as someone who grew up catholic (reading the bible, going to church, praying up to 8 times a day, believing in confession and paradise/hell, etc.) but has finally found her own way (far far far away from religion), i felt so sad to hear that at first, but i guess people who do believe in god really do feel like god completes them. i find that quite interesting, especially since i never felt god completed me in any way.
Elena Schanung what I got from Chris’s statement is that one shouldn’t depend other people to complete you, that you should seek completeness yourself within you.
That you feel whole by yourself, so when you find that someone to be with, they’d just be an addition to your wholeness.
And I agree with that sentiment. (It’s just so happen that Rev. Chris is Christian so part of him would be his belief in God)
@@forevermeelena I think you need to talk to God about this. You said you're far from religion, but I believe there's still a part of you that yearns for that relationship again. I think there's a lot of hurt, anger, and jaded-ness that has piled up on your heart. Pour that out to God, and He will comfort you and give you a peace that surpasses understanding. I love how they stated how a person should not complete you in a relationship. I didn’t realize that until after a breakup. Now, for the next relationship, I want to keep that in mind as well as maintain that life of being able to hang out with friends and having that time for self-love.

I really appreciated their opinion on dating in young tender ages. It’s obviously not required and more than often only scars you because you start blaming yourself as you think you’re the one at fault for not making the relationship work, when in reality both of the individuals are just beginning to figure out what they want. I hate it when teens suffer from peer pressure and snide comments for not dating. They are barely shouldering themselves, they are obviously not ready for another person.

Jenny reminds me of a younger version of my literature teacher. She is the most lovely woman ever, constantly laughing and never pressuring kids. For some reason, I can't help but see the resemblance of her in Jenny, she also seems such a lovely and bubbly girl.
This really should be a series. I love hearing what Jenny and Chris think. Also I cannot overstate how important it was for me to hear “Just because you love someone doesn’t mean that the relationship is good or healthy or right” that’s the hardest part of recovery from my last relationship and hearing someone who doesn’t know me or my story affirm that is really powerful.
