I was so happy when I got to watch jimmy neutron again, I can't believe it's been so long and they finally made a proper dvd release. I'm glad I have it and I'm never getting rid of it.
Jimmy screaming about him being married to Cindy in the future, and then treating the commercial break as if that's how long he screamed is the funniest moment for me in the whole series. Absolutely genius joke.

I legitimately forgot how good Jimmy Neutron was. Funnily enough my mom was the one who introduced Jimmy Neutron to me initially. She was a huge fan of the film and would often talk it up which led to us all becoming fans of the show as a family later. As an adult I hadn’t ever thought about it very much until your videos and this series in particular which unlocked a bunch of good nostalgic memories.
My mom enjoys Jimmy Neutron as well, she took me to see the original movie in theaters back in the day as well! Thanks so much for watching!
It was actually my grandpa that loved this show. The two of us would watch it every day when it would come on at 4 after I got home from school. Man those were some good times

Jimmy Neutron is such an underrated Cartoon
season 3 is great with how parody-centric it got....like this show did parody really well instead of having to come up with their own storylines i feel.....take the episode where hugh takes the boys outdoors camping..that episode sucks until near the end and is not funny or fun but in season 3 they would of made it really funny and just ripped another property off instead of try to write their own unique story to get their messages themes across which limits their writing I feel cause they have to come up with the idea rather than just steal one and their off which is much easier to write around when your on a schedule for animation...then you can just worry about jokes cause you have a foundation everyone understands rather than coming up with one to go from beat to beat and explaining it to everyone and then having the director tell the animators and not having time for too much actually funny comedy
As a kid, I thought Carl was just weird. As an adult, I laugh at every "Jymmy's Mom." 🤣
That episode where Hugh sent Jimmy to the Shadow Realm was especially jarring.

It is a shame that season 4 didn’t happen apparently there were gonna be things like Nick becoming more of a main character and Evil Jimmy coming back again and being defeated once and for all. That would’ve been nice to see.
Since a couple shows on Paramount+ are getting revived, there might be a chance, if the creator is willing.
Apparently, the story arc of season 4 was meant to be significantly darker and a bit more mature which is rumored to be one of a few reasons that the show was canned. It's upsetting because a darker tone for Jimmy Neutron would've been perfect to keep the show from getting stale, ESPECIALLY because Evil Jimmy was supposed to come back. And it would've led the show to a banger of a series finale. Jimmy and Cindy's friendship/relationship would've also evolved more until they ultimately and finally ended up together. I have my fingers crossed that because of all these reboots and revivals that there's hope for Jimmy, too.

The clash of the cousins episode is even more weird when you realize that Hugh's side of the family is where Jimmy gets his genius from. Yes it would be considered a rare but not common genetic defect to the family. And I guess Judy's genes act as more of a buffer for Jimmy's looks
Actually that makes sense; Hugh is a strangely intelligent person, he just lacks the wisdom to temper it.
He's got the same capacity to invent, to manipulate electronics, and everything. He just doesn't "get" it like Jimmy does.
I feel like the Toy making episode shows this off the best cause he did come up with some interesting concepts for Toys it's just he couldn't properly make them without Jimmy secretly helping him.
How's this for a thought, all of Hugh's side of the family are actually incredibly intelligent, it's just they all are on different locations on the autistic spectrum that basically makes it so that, even though they are intelligent, they can't express their natural intelligence properly. And even when this seems to not be the case, the intelligence seems to come tainted some form of mental illness, or complex that hinders them, the exception being Jimmy who seems to just be suffering from having a big ego at being the smartest person in the room.
I mean, Hugh's family all seemed to at least understand Jimmy's gifts in that episode (granted we didn't see the uses before they exploded), and compared to how much people their ages struggle with what looks to be similar tech we have today, that implies at least some understanding and/or skill with technology that you don't see across the board in most families.
Hugh is a gigachad
That said, Jimmy's Mom is shown more than capable of understanding what Jimmy's Up to, and is overall deceptively smart. Jimmy got his intellect from both sides, for sure.
Actually, as an adult, I can say that I REALLY appreciate that they made Jimmy the Hulk.
Most parodies like this would have probably made a character like Jimmy into Professor X, but instead they recognized a key aspect of the Hulk: that Bruce Banner is a genius in his own right, and isn't just a poor schmuck that became the Hulk.
Hell, a lot of Marvel's own writers and artists forget this aspect of the Hulk, so props to Jimmy Neutron.
To be fair, up until recently, it was never clear 100% on what Hulk was, personality, side effect, or otherwise. Here until recently depending on who wrote it, the hulk could be damn near anything from a separate being trapped in Banner's body, to a alter for Bruce Banner's multiple personality disorder, to a brain that was just in incredible pain and agony that just had its skin stretched, muscles grown, and pants stained purple that was so tuned into nothing but his own agony that he destroyed anything near him. Thankfully with the Immortal Hulk story line, they've started to nail it all down though.

Even in retrospect I think Jimmy and Cindy were pretty cool characters, and despite the premise of the show realistic. He was an arrogant super-genius with a good heart but an ego as large as his forehead, and Cindy was a competetive over-achiever who got catty when she didn't feel like she was empowered.
Edit: They both explored what problems can appear with smart kids.

I remember being confused about the League of Villains like “Who was this baby and granny? When did the bandits come back and have names? What episodes did I miss?” and at that point in my life, I tended to miss a lot of episodes so it felt possible that I actually missed them rather then them not airing yet
Jimmy Neutron is such a strange franchise, but I love it.
Damn, you've been seriously on point with these videos. It's like it's personally targeted my exact childhood nostalgia lol I loved this show and it's weirdness, my family and I still quote it to this day. I honestly think it has aged incredibly well, even with the weird CGI. The humor is bang on for today tbh

Imagine some kid nowadays having Paramount Plus, and discovering Jimmy Neutron through that service. But NOT discovering Fairly Odd Parents. They'd be so confused when they eventually got to the crossovers.
That’s just how I watched them in the first place. So take that as you will.
I know that the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour isn't in this video, but the weirdest thing about it is that it establishes a love triangle between Jimmy, Timmy and Cindy, with Timmy sort of competing against Jimmy for Cindy... despite the fact that in his show, Timmy already has a massive crush on Trixie, and that Tootie crushes hard on Timmy. Timmy is already in a love triangle, why'd they need to sweep that one under the rug and create ANOTHER one instead?
The law of crossovers dictates that the main characters must have a rivalry of some kind
It's either "hey you stole my girl" or "hey i'm the head honcho around here"
Most crossovers aren't done well because each writer wants to make their universe shine brighter than the other.
There's Taco's response that it's a "law of crossovers" for a love triangle to form. However, from a less-Doylean perspective, by that point of Fairly Odd Parents, Timmy has been rejected multiple times by Trixie and multiple times rejected Tootie. It's also fair to posit that a person (especially a preteen or teenager) can crush on multiple people simultaneously.
This goes even more given that I don't recall Tootie or Trixie being part of the trilogy...so the existent Trixie-Timmy-Tootie love-triangle isn't ever affected by the Jimmy-Cindy-Timmy love-triangle. Which kind of sucks because that could be used for real development...but meh, Fairly Odd Parents stopped having character/relationship development long before they introduced that talking dog.
@@iRazenrak it’s like those Marvel and DC crossovers who’s outcome were decided by the fans (if I’m remembering correctly).
Pretty sure in a love triangle, the feelings aren’t supposed to be one sided.
I love how after the Twonkies episode we keep seeing them in the background in other episodes. As much fun zero-continuity cartoons can be, seeing changes in the status quo and character progression is very appreciated.
I'm also shocked at how many of my favorite episodes were from season 3. 😮
The Twonkies was a true knockoff of the Gremlins.

For some reason, half the episodes in season 3 always felt like they must have aired during season 2 for me. I don't get it, but that's the impression they left.
Also holy shit, that actually WAS someone else's Hugh impression?! I was starting to ALMOST believe you might have somehow gotten Hugh's actual voice actor to do a bit or two for this video. THAT'S how damn good of a job Uncle Al did. Kudos to that guy!
Jimmy neutron needs a season 4. I wanna see evil jimmy & the league of villains return. I think nickelodeon probably would've turned jimmy neutron into a cash cow had they decided to fund season 4 when dna productions ended. More seasons, more merch, and maybe even more movies. It was like the 3rd most popular show after spongebob & the fairly oddparents. It's a good thing the complete series is now available on dvd.
Yeah, I remember when those shows were the "Big Three" on Nickelodeon in the 2000s. It would have been cool to see Evil Jimmy as the head of the villians. Also, does anyone remember the block Nick Pick Live?

@@NevanSlone I remember when planet sheen was announced I was thinking to myself why ? Seems to me like they were still interested in the IP yet they didn't wanna do a season 4. They should've just funded the show themselves. Planet sheen originally was going to be a show about an original character in space. Guess some network executive thought sheen would be a better fit for it. I've been hearing people say planet sheen was supposed to get a tv movie where jimmy & the gang come to rescue him. That actually sounds like a good start off for season 4.

I think the evil future Libby crown was more of a reference to Samurai Jack’s Aku, evil baddie of the dystopian future. And Hela’s crown is just from Hela’s Marvel comics appearance (which I think predates this show by alot)
I love how the season 3 on paramount plus has the league of villains before most of the villain depute episode or before they become good in T and his brothers case.
You know, going back through this show I'm glad it had such an integral focus on its characters. They weren't deep or complex, but their characterization and interactions made them so much fun to watch, and I think that's what really made the series timeless. The only thing sad about is the girls didn't get as much focus or interaction that wasn't with their romantic interests(more Cindy and Carl, or Libby and Jimmy), especially this season, but even they were still fun.
I'm dealing with bad depression, and your fringemas is finally giving me something to look forward to everyday. I just thought I'd say well done on the longer video, and keep up the good work

Season 3 is definitely a season that was reran a lot growing up, sure I remember episodes from seasons 1 and 2 but a lot of the ones that stuck and some are my personal favorites (like the magician one and who framed Jimmy) probably cause of how wacky the show got or that Nick just reran these more then any other episode. This lookback was nice and showed how creative Jimmy was as a show and how fucking weird and wacky it got. Now you got Aint no loving my man stuck in my head lol, still amazing video!
Jimmy Neutron was an iconic kid shows for me. Classic TV animated series and should be remembered as one of the best series.

I loved Jimmy Neutron so much, a season four would have been much better than that Planet Sheen nonsense. The overall energy of this season was really on point, the characters and writing were really well done. And I can't wait for the crossover episodes! Season 3 is the season I remember the most, watching stranded and watching Jimmy and Cindy relationship continue always gave me a spark of excitement lmao
i like yo think that the mutual crush of cyndy and Jimmy started when they eliminated that one memory in the mind exchange episode
That’s what I always thought too, and that said memory was actually Jimmy’s because the whole rambling description started with “An extreme dislike of girls…”
Although, the description of the memory was so long and confusing that it could feasibly belong to either of them.

Season 3 was really weird, but like there where allot of really good, memorable episodes in this batch! The show really went out on a high note! I'll always be sad, because from what I've heard the creators wanted to make a 4th season. They weren't done with the characters yet, and wanted to tell more stories with them, but at the time the network shut it down and wouldn't let them continue, then somehow things turned into Planet Sheen. Its so sad to think of what could have been but wasn't. Oh well! At least we can always say the original show was good for its full run, and thats better than you can say for allot of nicktoons!!
It's videos like this that reminds me of how blessed (And absurd in some capacity) my childhood was growing up and watching TV!!

For a show that's based around Science, I love how it just did whatever the hell it wanted and never followed any type of logic.
So, fun fact about the N-Men, these are their references:
Jimmy: Costume is based on Green Lantern’s/generic hero costumes, powers are Hulk’s, obviously, with a bit of Marvel’s The Thing with the orange skin.
Libby: Powers and costume are obviously Invisible Woman’s, with the fingerless gloves from the Ultimate Comics version of her.
Sheen: Powers and costume are the Flash, obviously.
Cindy: Powers and costume based off of DC Supergirl’s look at the time, with the star of her cheek possibly referencing the more obscure DC heroine Tomorrow Woman.
Carl: Carl’s costume is based off of DC’s Plastic Man, and his sonic burps are reminiscent of Black Canary.
This show was ahead of it's time

I do like that the Twonkies became sort of a background thing in future episodes after their introduction. However there is one scene that to this day annoys me, in the episode where Jet and Beautiful Gorgeous are getting marry and Jimmy and co. start singing the "I have the ring" song there was a twonkie in the church and for so reason didn't transform ... what ?

Wow I can't believe I've missed exactly 1 episode of Jimmy Neutron. I never watched that one episode where the parents take over as teachers.
You really went out of your way building up this episode, and it was a very nice walk down memory lane. Jimmy Neutron never really tickled my fancy as a kid, but I can say I was always impressed with the animation style and the fact they chose simple textures and shapes to convey their characters which proved to stand the test of time. Also, the writing was always fun if I happened to catch an episode, even if I wasn't eager to watch it.
The show is one of my favorites I have the entire series on DVD and I watch it still to this day

I really enjoyed this video. Jimmy Neutron was a great show. I can't believe that I remember a lot of the episodes you talked about.
I still hold this is Nick's best cartoon, very possibly best show in general. Total quality from start to finish, perfect balance of humor, interesting plots, and action. I also agree the show still holds up visually, I really don't understand peoples' gripes with the CG models and animation.
