I learned about this specific incident in my psychology class today. Had to come and get the real story
So it was dopamine the reason I throwed myself out the bed punching the air.
Maybe you have to have the same problem to truly see the real humor here.... hurled myself off the bed (missed the window!) hit the wall, crumbled to the floor and crawled back up on the bed thinking "yeah but at least the alligator didn't get me" ;) I was black and blue from ankle to hip in the morning. I've always wished someone could connect electrodes to my brain and record the movies going on in there. Mike does a great job of capturing the experience.

That drug he mentions that keeps you paralysed in your sleep to stop you from doing stuff in your dreams...sometimes i have opposite problem. Sometimes i wake up, i open my eyes and im conscious but i cannot move. It is a horrible feeling and it takes about 20 seconds to wear off on average
It happens because the paralysing drug hasn't fully wore off. It is not a big problem but a couple of times i have woke with my head under the covers and that is not good.

Happens to most people once or twice in a lifetime. But some people get it chronically. It can get a lot worse than that, too
Quite common - happens to me 1-2 a week. Not dangerous (unlike sleepwalking!).
Trying to wiggle my toes or fingers seems to help me come out of it faster ... but mostly it just goes away.
