Gorgeous car. By far the best looking thing Honda/Acura has produced in a very long time. Great lines without trying too hard. Hats off to the design team.
They ain't produced it yet so I say we wait until the b!tc# goes production to figure out whether it's worthy of what we say it will be or for what Acura boasts it will be!

I might've missed a picture, the more telling CADs that I saw didn't seem to be the sedan's interior. I couldn't match the interior CADs to the Motor1 TLX spy shots. Either way, imagine the SUV and TLX interior are extremely similar

Langolier Honda created Acura. They are just nicer honda's Chevy = GMC. Dodge = Chrysler.
Wayne Gove they are way above Chevy and Dodge level. They don’t even make luxury cars except for somewhat premium Buick. Acura is equivalent to Toyota - Lexus, Volkswagen - Audi and Nissan - INFINITI.
That’s the first Acura design, besides the nsx, that I’ve ever actually liked. I hope they stick close to it

Usually Acura/Honda are pretty good about keeping the production model similar to the concepts, as shown from the previous tlx and the new RDX, but it probably won't keep those mirrors unfortunately

They already said they putting a turbo in plus they already updated the rdx interior and it's awesome so the type s interior has to be at least as good.
We will see. The concept before the current TLX was legit and then they dropped the ho-hum TLX on us. So there is precedent that we could be seriously disappointed in the 2nd-gen TLX. Also, you really think they would offer a brand new multimedia system when they just created a brand new one for the RDX (which sucks, by the way)? I guarantee the RDX's system is going to find its way to the rest of the Acura lineup and it will be around for years to come.
@@mattspeer01 well the rlx concept was over the top and we didn't get any of it. The last gen tlx concept as on point, but you can already tell this one isn't. The lack of any door handles and the super thin side mirrors aren't gonna make it. Based on the leaked tlx images from the infotainment system someone pulled last month, this reveal concept looks very similar but watered down. So it's probably going to look like a less agressive version of the concept
That sounds about on point to what they will do plus a DCT

Lewis Wooldridge proportions mean nothing to Honda. The Prelude, Accord, Legend, Vigor, just to name a few have had designs that implied RWD format, some even employed longitudinal mounted inline 5 cylinder engines, and were FWD. Honda has never done a V8 for consumer production vehicles. Turbo V6 will not be employed here either. If anything it’ll follow in the likes of the RLX and NSX and use electric motors at the rear or front wheels for added performance. SH-AWD will more than likely be optional. The TLX is 2 cars in 1.
Ike N I highly doubt that. Honda plays it safe and has 0 engines available in that style sans for the NSX engine which was developed just for that chassis. The Type S is a design concept to showcase the direction of the brand. This is the 3rd design concept showcasing new design language for the brand.

Funny you mentioned. Honda used to make the MDX and RL SH-AWD only then they started offering a cheaper option of front wheel drive. They shift the SH-AWD to the TL. IMO as a long time Acura owner, SH-AWD should be the only option Acura should offer. If I want FD then I would buy a Honda and there's absolutely nothing luxurious about a FD in the winter

I could be wrong, but Acura doesn't build anything with a manual transmission anymore, why would you expect this to have that feature?
My guess is that these design cues will never appear on a sedan but instead will show up on a crossover coupeish thingee as that is the latest niche to be discovered by the German car companies.

I am cautiously optimistic. I have seen sexy prototype by Acura only to be watered down upon the actual model coming to fruition. If they retain the basic proportions, stance and front fascia, I am coming back to Acura after a 5 year hiatus. Don't mess it up Acura!

I like how genuinely excited the KBB team seems to be at the idea of a successful, affordable, and luxurious Acura Performance brand when ever they review the vehicles. I want to see this Acura TLX Type S properly challenge the BMW M3 and C63 AMG benz at a fraction of the cost.

Acura already said the Type-S concept is production ready. So it will most likely look exactly like this except the doors will be noticeable with handles and those side mirrors will be larger than shown here. If you checked out the leaked photos of the next generation TLX and MDX the TLX looks exactly like this but this is obviously the Type-s variant of it. Even the RDX is almost exactly the same as it’s concept was. So I’m pretty sure the Type-s will look the same excluding small details.

They need to build this exactly the same! This concept needs to become reality w/ out changing the look at all. It sucks how most of the time the production version ends up lacking what the concept looked like. This is awesome looking. Keeping my fingers crossed!

This “Concept” doesn’t look that crazy at all. Just like the LC500, they should release this exact car. It looks just enough-awesome. Less will not be sufficient design wise

Testing it in spy shots showed it against Mercedes 6 Cyl Bi-Turbo. Assumption is that it will be a twin turbo 6 cyl with 400hp and 400 torque like you want!

@@gazasqreech I have a 04 TL with 155k ,not to bad far as maintenance but with any old car it will eventually come up with maintenance fees lol. I love it tho. Been on several road trips with no issues.
I think 1 month ago, I found some pictures about TLX 2021, they were leaked pictures from Acura. Oh my God! I think this concept will be a TLX in 2021 because I saw it really likes the TLX from those leaked pictures. I think Acura are trying to be a Luxury Sport Cars Company againt because they have looked at Lexus and faild a few years ago. They should look at BMW, Porsche, Aston Martin,... because they were good at Sport, not Luxury. I hope in 2021, they will try to focus about Sport and combine with just a little bit about Luxury.
