The disconnect between all the art vs gameplay in this company is unreal. Art nothing but bangers. Gameplay team gives us this goofy nonsense with I'm sure a balanced kit.
don't group the rest of the roster into this. It really undercuts how legitimately disconnected belveth's gameplay is from her lore when you don't put her in a category of her own.
models in elague have never been as good as the art. and for a good reason. i prefer to actually be able to play my game instead of a huge lag fest with super detailed in depth models

I like Lore events a lot. Spirit Blossom was a huge success so I really do not get why Riot decided to do the same thing for Ruination but executed more poorly. A Void lore event is really exciting knowing we have no big updates on the region since maybe Vel'Koz's release since, let's be honest, Kai'sa was not a true void monster.

One of the first reveals I saw of her. It starts off with the zoom in the purple eye. I remember I was so excited to finally see her. And then the gameplay shown is just her autoing a turret with her goofy looking wings. It honestly felt like a joke going from that level of atmosphere to a slapstick comedy

Ah, the old void PvE, that was shown in Star Guardians Event and Odyssey Event. I hope we do get an event like that where either we're the void spawners, or just the normal PvE against void.

Apparently the riot devs that were responsable for the PvE mods left League's dev team to improve or lead other games, like Tft or Riot Forge...
Edit 2: Due to the attention this is getting, I highly reccomend you guys check out the monster Wraith from Evolve Stage 2, I think wraith is a good example of how to make a Bel'veth look scary when attacking fast rather than a little goofy!
Very cool concept and looks fun, but her attacks look too goofy for an empress of the void. I feel like she was supposed to look ravenous but instead looks slappy and silly.
Edit: another thing is that her fiddlesticks drain looks more like a seizure, I think fiddle's drain captures the idea of a demon soul in a frail form barely holding itself together. I think the movements could be a bit more bubble in shape and slower to make it look more voidy rather than a muscle spasm
Also, she seems to have a very interesting fiora like mechanic with that indicator next to her that disappears when you dodge in the corresponding direction. That'll be interesting to master

Vel'koz has attacks like you'd expect a magical tentacle monster to attack. Kha'zix is so insect-like he creeped me out the first time I saw him in-game. Rek-sai has brutal, animalistic attacks that suit her lore. And then we have "the Void Empress" who is supposed to be a mind-controlling mastermind but ended up as a wacky waving arm inflatable manta ray that constantly T poses. It's jarring.
She's just gonna win every match cause the enemy team won't be able to stop laughing at these animations 😂

I don't agree at all, most champions before Renata and Bel'Veth all have amazing and fun kits. Gameplay team usually does very well. Recently they've been bad.

She should've attack with whip like tentacles or just be a low range champion like Thresh and sendvoid lazers like Vel'koz, that slap animation looks WAY too goofy and clunky on her Theme and can actually confuse players, like she's supposed to cleave with auto attacks but doesn't, the angle is too wide.

Riot, are you able to give Bel'Veths w a passive where every minute or so (lower the higher level), whenever it is cast and hits something, it spawns one of the voidlings depending on if the champion (Such as kayn's orbs with ranged and melee champions) and jungle camps. Also w makes the voidlings attack the target?

Her abilities are:
A dash, nothing particular.
A passive that resets the dash and in mechanics is like a combination between fiora and urgot.
A knock up, very similar to red Kayn, maybe a little wider.
A lvl 6 that makes her invulnerable for a while, and maybe buff her. Somewhat like Lissandra.
Another passive that works the same as viego, but also does damage and roots.
My guess is that is going to be a champ very similar to viego when playing, but instead of cutting she will SLAP you to death

Her dash does have a little bit of a reset. But I believe I read somewhere that it gives her bonus attack speed or lifesteal.
I think the thing that looks like her R is actually her E. I'm not quite sure how it works.
If you look at a few other leak clips, her R seems to give her a BUNCH of attack speed (mad slaps), but as usual I could be mistaken.

The geamplay team had a vastly different idea of how she was supposed to work in game vs in the lore
Love her design, but as an ADC main I'm crying about the 2000 dashes she has.
EDIT: I love all y'alls input, but I'm a silver player. While ADCs do have multiple things to survive nowadays, answers like "oh you have your support" or "you are supposed to be glass cannons" are not really helping or constructive in anyway.
1. Most supports are trash in this elo. Maybe every 5th support I have is actually useful and doesn't just feed, blame me for everything going wrong (and in conclusion tilting) or leave my lane lvl 2 so I would die.
2. I'm everything but a perfect player. I missplay a lot and have to take that into account when playing against champions with this many dashes. A single mistake on my part will lead to my death, while a mistake on the enemy's part doesn't have any impact considering I have no chance to run while they can dash 3x to get to me.
3. No, I don't play champions with dashes (except Caitlyn). Champions like Samira, Akshan, Zeri, Vayne etc are not part of my repertoire - I don't enjoy playing them too much and will not bother learning to play them just because Riot thinks that dashes are a key element to every kit nowadays.
4. Flash and Galeforce are not enough to get me away from champs with hypermobility. I don't play heal either, I play exhaust for the 1on1 potential. And considering the recent Galeforce nerf, I've been playing Kraken Slayer way more recently. The item choices for Jinx mains aren't too customizable when it comes to survivability or actually dealing damage.
So again, thanks for y'alls opinions, but not everyone is actually a high elo player. I enjoy having fun in the game and considering how weak ADCs are in lower elo (when you take all the other champions like Xin Zhao, Fiora, Irelia etc. in account), it's not enjoyable or any kind of fun. Adding champions is great and all, but every kit nowadays is so extremely overloaded. I've been playing this game since release and consecutively falling out of love with it, most of it is because of the toxic community but the new designs and changes play a small part too.
No worries friend, the survivability patch will save us, maybe.

Yeah not gonna lie was disappointed I was expecting some swarm gameplay or something along those lines or even if she just had a really badass summon ultimate
As usual the design team is lightyears ahead of the gameplay team
Design team: Intimidating ocean-themed empress with mind control powers, human thralls, and a void fish swarm at her disposal
Gameplay team: Slapp 🥴
They also made her in-game models look HORRIBLE compared to the animated trailer. Human form looks like stingray furry bait and monster form looks like off-brand winged Kog'Maw. That's not at all how either form looked in the animation.
The problem is there's an overlap between those teams, since someone from the visual design team had to have considered how the abilities would look and how she'd function, they both kinda missed the mark here... overall i think it's a horrible design
the design was a random sting ray that can slap left to right while in the trailer was a badass queen with a serious anger management

I don’t know why, but it makes me laugh how with all the build up to play as the “Void Queen,” her main method of attack is slapping her opponents to death. Yeah, those slaps hurt, but it almost makes me wish her crits would be the queen backslapping as if to indicate this fight is beneath her.
Can’t wait to see the full breakdown.

Did the attack pattern already set in stone before they actually design champs? Bcuz if this were early Bel'veth, as in a human clad in mantray-esque void cape, the cape slapping would made more sense, because the human part could still swing elegantly. But that doesnt work with a whole mantaray slapping people.
i can't believe I convinced myself that her wonky auto animations were just a playtest thing and that they'd get polished up before going live 😔

So her ferocious nature came before the title, on top of the fact that the overworldly/human culture does not really apply to a realm filled with (mindless) monsters and swarms.
