what about the fact that otherwise her only 'heal' is her Ultimate and since it's an ADC and she might end up with a support like Leona, she would absolutely not gain any effect from her passive. That's the only reason.

I actually do hate annie for beeing so simple. Hurdur lemme just press r on you real quick and oneshot you with no possible counterplay. Not everyone dislikes complexity in champ designs.

i feel like this is a perfect example of Overloaded vs Complicated. Nilah isn't very complex as a champion, but her abilities just have too much text. Her Q is simple, in theory, but they just refuse to stop tacking on extra stuff. Ignoring armor, healing when dealing damage, turning your attacks into AoEs, increasing your attack range, increasing your attack speed, overhealing and gaining a shield are all fine effects, but you dont HAVE to stack them all on ONE ability.

she is a melee adc, plus her q is the only thing in her kit that has that many things in it. Without the bonus attack range and lifesteal she would be stomped by every adc

If she was actually a melee ADC, all that might feel more understandable. But the fact is that she's got ranged, AoE autos when she's fighting, so I don't see how it balances out.
@@soaps7033 1 Q can make her range to not melee anymore and it have same cd at uptime really compensate enough for the range part. Overheal, healing, attack spd, aoe make her an AOE long range Skimisher which is pretty OP if you ask me.
She has a pretty cool kit!

back in 2012-2016 i'd watch every champ spotlight with awe and wonder, the champions were so unique and i could not wait for the next one to be released.
now i get headaches from the spotlights and remember why i don't play the game anymore.

They put it on Mordekaiser in order to compensate for the fact he was a Juggernaut. Juggernauts require levels to scale as opposed to gold. It'd be weird if they did this and then gave her stats more aligned with traditional marksman rather than say a fighter.
She seems like someone who will have troubles earlier on if balanced rightly. Extra exp must be to compensate being zoned out from some creeps due to low range

I remember years ago the main complaint I had about league was that every champion felt the same, every one had a shield, a dash, a skillshot and an AoE ult, it was so boring.
If you add a simpler champion it will probably be just a worse version of another champ in the game.

Also Nilah has 2 dashes
She is just soo overloaded, she can do everything. Buff heals and shiels, or just creates them from having another close to her (we can see soraka getting healed by using her W), creates exp from just existing, has built in armor pen, and lifesteal scaling with crit chance, so, 3 key stat for adc for 1, straight up negates damege. It also looks like everything they had for Samira made a comeback, and then Rell's ult also heals all of her team. They just gave her mechanic that were removed from other champ due to beeing inbalanced, Mord's exp sharing, Samira's dashing to allies (but twice this time). Seriously, wtf were they thinking about, this is either going to be the next Ryze getting reworked all the time or it's going to be on so many patch notes in a row until they just nerf her to oblivion, make her unplayable and then nobody cares anymore. Then we have champs that slow themselves.
They also just straight up gave her orianna’s ult

Man I just miss the times when we got teasers and easter eggs of upcoming champs, like the Jhin release was just magnificent. Now its just here you go a new champ every month and it's too much and no fun.

Champions can be complicated thats okay, but overloaded is a problem. This champ just has waaaaay to much. Imagine getting and giving extra xp just from existing.
@Nix Seth last hitting minions is literally the goal of adc role. So she gets extra exp from doing the thing every adc should do. If she's behind or ahead, she can always catch up or push her lead considering she literally creates extra exp for her team. Also let's not forget all the healing, overhealing, armor pen, dashes, etc. I can't believe you are trying to defend the fact this character literally gets the privilege of just getting more experience not only for herself but her team lol.

Out of 13 champion releases in 3 years, this is like the 11th basic human with unorthodox weapon design. The design team is really keeping it super fresh!

Overloaded doesn't necessarily mean more fun. Champs with simpler kits often have higher skill ceilings and feel a lot more rewarding to play. Idk fire whoevers in charge of champ design please.
This champ has CertainlyT written all over it, the worst person that ever happened to League.
Sadly, that's just not true. The higher the complexity, the higher the skill ceiling. There's a good reason you're not in charge of champ design.

The last hit gains Extra exp... I don't see the point of it. Make up the loss in minions because of a shorter range with the whip? I don't get it... and why doesn't get damaged when in the water form? tell me the skills in gain extra heal/shield from another player.
I think they making the game easier... especially in these moments of hype with Arcane, Music video and other stuff more player play casually and the game is not easy to learn.

Nilah's kit just has so much potential that if 2 veterans or pros juke it out in bot with full builds, it will no longer be a skill diff, it'll be a champ and kit diff.
@@burpbot7555 nope, nilah's Q is very complex. But what you do with it is super simple. Hit as many enemies as possible and get a lot of buffs from that. Not really much variation is it? Now take Jhin R. Much more simple "shoot 4 missiles at enemies in a big cone" but what you do with it is much more complex: Positioning, right timing, sniping objectives etc. Now tell us again that complex design means high skill ceiling.

Lethality Poppy is the only thing we need against champs like this.
With more and more dash champions coming out, poppy is going to be the ultimate counter pick, and that's a good thing, because most of these new champions don't sound fun at all

You didnt show any weaknesses of Nilah. In range lanes when she is poke, she could stay back and lasthit to stay in the same range level, and outscalate them eventually. And yes, any ADC would have died if it is caught in the jungle with no vision, thats is true to all of them.

For me a League champ should have a kit that makes the champ unique to play and makes him being good in certain aspects.
For example Cassiopeia is all about poison and slows and controlling the opponent with it. Or Rek'Sai is all about dashing with tunnels and spotting someone out of vision to find a good flank to burst him.
But Nilah just got her spells just filled with too many extra stuff. Whats even her identity? Being good in everything doesn't work, so you have to nerf her to being ok or being bad in everything. Thats just poor champ design.
And Riot definetly can make good new champs, something like Volibear rework has its defined strengths and is a cool design and the playstyle makes sense.
That's pretty much how I felt about Nilah too. I just don't really see what she brings into the game other than "yet another overloaded hypercarry".
It feels like she was intended to something like a physical damage Kayle (a lategame hypercarry with team utility and a gamechanging ult) who is melee, but has mobility to make up for it.
But Riot didn't really do anything to make playing as or against her a special experience. Neither side will really do anything that they wouldn't do if the Nilah player would have locked in Samira instead. So what did even get from her being added to the game?
Which is a shame, because Riot still releases champions that offer new things to the game, with the best example being Renata Glasc. It just seems like they're kind of running out of ideas when it comes to hypercarry champions, so I really wouldn't mind it if they would stop releasing new ones for the next 2 or 3 years.
(Seriously though, since 2020, we've got 6 skirmishers: Lillia, Yone, Viego, Gwen, Bel'Veth and Nilah, while we got a grand total of 0 battlemages and 0 wardens. I get that skirmishers are popular, but maybe, spamming them out like this isn't a good idea, Riot)
True. Played her a bit, she just lacks good skills loop, she literally feels like samira but without strong ult.
cant wait to see her in every patchnote for the next 6 months taking hundreds if not thousands of hours of developing resources that could be put into more urgent cases.

every game ive had to endure against this champ has been agonizing. you can win botlane and Nilah will be even in level with you, lose the lane and she's two levels up. unreal
I really love how Rell's ult basically does nothing (as a engage tank support) if she doesn't have her other abilities ready, but then they give this fkn ult to an ADC. Damage, stun, AOE damage, utility And then they wonder why nobody plays other champions and just exploit new broken champions until they have to nerf them to oblivion.
let's be honest, no one besides these 10 people who play Rell, would mind her just getting deleted from the game. She's an absolute failure when it comes to both character design and gameplay. Just like Nilah and Bel'veth

The balance team only works on balancing the live server, they’ve got no say in what the champion creation team does.

Sad they didn't added the:
Jax enters a defensive stance for up to 2 seconds, dodging incoming attacks and taking 25% less damage from area of effect abilities.
After 2 seconds or recasting, Jax deals 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 (+0.5 per bonus attack damage) physical damage and stuns nearby enemies for 1 second. Deals 20% increased damage for each attack Jax dodged (Max increase of 100%).
Active: Jax enters Evasion for 2 seconds: a defensive stance that causes him to dodge all incoming non- turret basic attacks and take 25% Damage reduction and educed damage from all area of effect abilities sourced from champions.
Counter Strike can be recast after 1 second, and does so automatically after the duration.
Recast: Jax deals physical damage to nearby enemies, increased by 20% for each attack dodged up to a 100% increase, and stuns them for 1 second.
and yet, jax is significantly harder to balance than any new, three-paragraph passive champion. his simplicity is a problem

Gargus oh Boi he needs a re work wild rift made him look amazing. I love playing him there but not the original LOL. :( Karthus doesn't have legendary. They need to calm making new champions and redesign old ones. Too many in 2 years of champions. It's not bad but we just got bel veth now a new one. Still enjoying the game tho just need some fixing for some champions that feel out of place now.

It's an issue of too many unbearable champs and the scenario of both samira and nilah being avaliable is too perfect too happen on a regular basis, it's an issue of too many unbearable champs more to deal with. I guessed you play samira because I am certain that you agree that people (you might not be one of them) always defend their mains saying their terrible. Usually they play a lot of Samira, Zeri, and Kai'sa.

Giving news characters an overloaded kit add a lot more opportunity and counterplay possibility, its sad that some champ are still very basic/weak but in a few time it will be more common to see these "op" champ and may add a lot of new mechanics to play around

Kog is vulnerable and likely to be the main target due to overwhelming dps. If he gets caught out and assassinated, it allows him to contribute at least some team fight damage
if she can stand there and 1v1 yone with auto attacks, she's a broken champion. you cannot convince me of otherwise.

Riot took all the dashes they origina wanted to give Renata and just put them on Nilah
dashes aren’t even the issue at this point lol
They literally gave Nilah exactly two dashes. Compare with older champs such as Riven with her three dashes or Jax with a dash on a 4-5 sec cooldown

Katarine can dash, but she needs to pick up her dagger... And what Nilah need to do? Nothing. She just have two dashes which she can cast even on allies ..
