- I feel like the spin-offs gave me a sense of closure more than the real ending so I decided to edit them in. I know it's technically the same bittersweet ending but I wanted the ending to focus more on Sobong and Cheoljong. Hope you guys like it :)

I think my biggest criticism about the original ending is that BH didn't get to properly say goodbye to CJ...That was so heartbreaking to me omg

When the king started falling for her, her personality was already dominant. Around that time, even his thoughts were in her voice. He was dominant in the begining, her personality was passive cause she was afraid, confused, and had a memory loss. But every badass move after, or scenes with the king, it was all her. She (he) stopped mentioning finding ways to go back, which means she was taking over her body and mind little by little. He helped her brave and blunt side shine through, the king definitely fell for her, not him.

But I think that Bong did care about the king and the king became fond of Bong (or the side of the queen that was Bong-like), though not in a romantic kind of way. I think they would become really good friends if they truly met face to face. But these comments saying that there should ve a scene of them saying goodbye to each other are ridiculous. The king has never communicated with him. He's never heard of his name even, knows nothing about him. I think that's the whole point. He was there with the purpose - to help the queen and the king fall for each other, beat the bad guys and save the kingdom. In the process, I think he changed for better too. He didn't seem like an immature, arrogant àss from the begining of the series. To me, it was the perfect storyline.

It is also good for the economy in terms of tourism, bc fans are willing to travel to get to see the filming locations for these K-dramas.

This scene definitely showed more than anything that the king and the chef loved each other. God, why couldn't they have just added a scene near the end where the king reborn meets the chef?!!!!

I understand it's the same soul, reincarnated but that doesn't count for personality or how they behave with each other. My point is, it's still not a satisfactory ending wih the reincarnation thing. The point isn't that no one gets it, it's just that a lot of us aren't satisfied with this theory.
@@The-bi5ry You got it wrong. It's not a reincarnated soul. There are two souls inside the Queen's body. The Queen's REAL mannerisms and behavior are similar or the same with BH. If a lot aren't satisfied with the ending, then that probably because they wanted the King and DH to be physically together. However that's not the plot so even if people aren't satisfied they can just suck it up.
I head canon that the king is reborn as a politician and eventually becomes the president and she falls in love with her chef.

Seriously I couldn't imagine a perfect Joseon-era Queen other than shin hye sun after watching Mr. Queen. She is the only one who has that vibe and attitude that non of the historical characters had in any drama/movie to this date.

I really fell in love with this character.

He loved her so much. But I will say he got toxic for a split moment near the end but he redeemed that by sacrificing himself.

I ve read a comment about the original ending in Go Princess. Actually, it's about the réincarnation. BH and SY is the same soul. He's in the modern time and she's in Joseon area. And from the time she was in vegetative state, it is when the 2 parts of the soul mixed. And at the end she still has access to future knowledge like he has access to her old memories. That's why at the and she starts cursing a lot and she feels so refreshing about that. Like her modern soul helps to awake some hidden parts in her SY soul. And I like that idea. Actually it's the same person/soul. And the King was drawn to her/his weird attitude and way of speaking but he also fell for her/his for the sweet parts when she is virtuous and cares about other. And when you see the spin off, she has already expressed some of her weird and quirky attitude like her modern soul, when she's running around to find away to see the king face. That's why the court Lady choi said that the one who serve this lady will be miserable. 😂 The court lady choi has already seen the rebel part in SY. It only increases when her modern soul comes around.
The scene the King touch the dictionary and asks Did I lose sth? make me sad. But when I saw she curse again. I like to think that she also has acces to knowledge from her future self and world. That's why she changed the rule in the court. That's way The king still fall in love with the whole person he discovered. ❤❤❤❤

I love this drama but I didn't know how to feel about the ending. I kinda wished they ended with them being merged into the same body because even if it was the queens feelings the first sparked their romantic relationship, it's definitely BH personality that CJ was intrigued about and eventually fell for.
I like it honestly, it gives Sobong justice, and give him his wish coming true as well. In this world, a little faith in the universe is good. This ending gives out hope. I wish they let some spin offs in, not all, but this one is so important.
When I meant his justice, I did not understate the Queen's love for for the King. I meant the care and understanding he has for the King. Ik many would like Sobong to never leave and instead live together with Soyong in her body. But it would be still uncomfortable and conflicting for both soul. I believe he was there to guide them two, as his impacts last until his days, and that's in itself is marvellous and deeply satisfying, and acknowledged already. He coming back also changed with his first act of exposing corruption of Secrectary Han. Just wanna add.

Some of the fans believe Sobong is more worthy of the King's love, I understand where they come, since it is his decision and his work to help the King's cause, but at the same time, he did it with understanding and at most friendly affections, or platonic affection, unlike Soyong's very romantic love. After returning from vegetative state, the Soyong's conscious mind and the romantic love seem to be awaken. It is not on Bonghwan's will. That may be the sign that the transition is happening. Either way, of course if Bonghwan leaved at any sooner moment, it won't work, because he is the only one knows what to do.

To be honest, I was not satisfied with the original ending, I thought it would be a wave full of emotions and yes I did learn a lesson but still, it felt like it was missing something. Then when I saw that there was an epilogue and watch it, I am completely satisfied. In all my life I have never cried over a Kdrama, at times I mostly force myself to but this is a real art. I love this series and this ending.

I actually prefer this ending where Cheoljong and SoBong will be together forever which is BongHwan staying inside So Yong's body forever. I have no idea why they had to choose the ending where the King asked the Queen why she is saying something in formal words in order to plot something for the King, it's not going to be great ending for me overall with the Original Queen with the King. It made all the fans disappointed including myself, but BH inside the Queen's body forever also will be better for me because CJ and BH have a great chemistry together and can make a great family with their royal child soon.
Hopefully if they make Season 2 of it, the King and others will come again this time about the Queen being original and her true self. I hope the King and Original Queen bonding together is still the same like Cheoljong and BongHwan.

I just completed this drama/comedy. While it is not a "perfect" story it has so many great moments and the love story that develops between the King and Queen is classic. I like this alternate ending and the highest compliment I can give is I will miss the Queen. Very entertaining and full of touching moments and humor.
Most of the story about Royalties in Kdrama's it is always the officials and Dowager are against to the King they are always the one who wanted the king to be dead

This was and amazing, amazing story!!!! The cast was incredible!! I had seen many recommendations but I was not interested in watching it because I simply did not like the lead actress, shin had sun, because she was the rival lead in the legend of the blue sea. Boy was a wrong! I’m happy to say. This actress is incredible! Incredible! I’m embarrassed how simple minded I was. 😳her comedic timing is gold! She really made be believe that jang bong-hwan was her. I cannot praise her enough.
