Lemon was frustrated that he couldn't dictate linguistic terms and hold Musk to Lemon's definitions. Basically Lemon played language games with someone smarter than him, and it was apparent to all...

I would submit to you that Dan is not intelligent. He may be fairly well spoken, but that doesn't equal intelligence. He's used to being given a platform and talking points if not outright scripts. He can't do it without that enabling factor. I doubt Don's IQ is all that high.

And you could tell Elon is already extremely busy, had work to do at Tesla, so invited Don to Tesla.... Don responds with a hostile interview and essentially tries to call Elon a depressed drug addicted hatemonger that stays up late drunk and high posting hate speech.

It's a prime example of someone coming from big media where they have been trained to do gotta interviews, and now they are trying to be independent media where the rules are different, and that approach will fail. I give Lemon no chance of making that transition.

The problem is that Lemon is 30 IQ points behind Musk, and always has been and will be.
It has always been my opinion that Lemon is not too bright and that, were he not checking off at least two boxes, he would never have been given his position in big media in the first place. Elon Musk is brilliant and handled this ridiculous interview very well. I don't agree with everything Musk has to say or what he does, that's for sure, but he is absolutely right about the law being what we abide by not what people just dream up these days. That's not fair. He is, or was, a man who is clearly intelligent and as qualified as anyone to be an interviewer. Unfortunately, before being thrown out, (the full reason has not been exposed to the public I strongly believe), he was part of a group who'd become so over-rewarded and privileged, that they've lost all sight of their basic professional responsibilities. One of the harshest lessons I've learned in life is that trying to have a good faith debate to solve a problem with a bad faith actor is a complete waste of time & energy. Martin, it would be funny to see you being interviewed by Mr. Lemon. With your skeptical, somewhat expressionless face, you can point out problems with his questioning during the interview. For example, "Don, what you have just described is a synecdoche, and I really do not wish to answer such a bias-loaded question, sirrah!" Lemon will look a bit lost, and the audience will be in stitches.
