WILL THIS BUFF OUT?

  • SH*T HAPPENS. If accidents, damage, or scratches didn’t occur, auto body shops wouldn’t exist. With that being said, it can be quite costly heading to a shop to get repairs done. For that reason, I will be helping you should your vehicle have paint transfer, deep scratches, swirls marks, or all of the above.
My friend Rob made contact with a pylon on the driver’s side of this car. Some damage is present where it made contact, which is what I will addressing in this video. The impacted areas flow for about 5 feet of the rear quarter, which seemed like a perfect opportunity to fix these scratches, WITHOUT SPENDING TOO MUCH on detailing products.
The polisher that I used in this video is a 15mm dual action polisher from Maxshine, and it costs a mere fraction of a Rupes polisher. Rupes has been the industry leader in polishers for many years, and they have completely changed how paint is corrected. They have made polishers in many different sizes with varying throws, including 8mm, 15mm, and 21mm with 12-month warranties. Maxshine has similar polishers, however they aren’t outrageously priced. They come with a detailing bag, they come with a handle, they come with the washer mod, and they have LIFETIME WARRANTY.
You will be blown away by the final results. So sit back, take note of the before, and be amazed by this budget detailing setup!!

The way you explained everything as to why it is important and more beneficial to do **this instead of that** and how you showed us that you don't need a $400+ polisher to do the same thing a $170 polisher can do just as well. How would you apply the polish(wax)at the end of the video?(the maguires or ceramic you recommend). With a polishing disc on the machine or by hand? Thanks!

I just bought a new used truck and have been buying all kinds of detailing equipment. I want to take care of this truck. The only thing I need to get at this point is the polisher and the compound. My truck had a pinstripe on eat and the dealer removed it but never buffed it out. I am scared to death to use the polisher as I have never used one before. I just don't want to cause any damage. A common complaint with the M15 is that the power is weak. I don't want to spend double for something but I also don't want to buy something where I'll need to upgrade either. Part of me says just pay the extra money and be done with it. Anyway, great video. Thanks.

Love this video but does it matter what sand paper to use on certain scratches?

Well done video -- super helpful (and practical). I am dealing with some scratches on my bumper cover -- do the same strategies apply there?

Yes it does. Depending on the scratches you have - if it's deep or really deep, you may to sand down, apply plastic bondo and follow the rest of the steps in the video

What a GREAT video. Your presentation is made for TV man. I do have one question. You gave tips on how to sand, but what is it that we're trying to do when we sand? Are we trying to make the scratch disappear or just get it a little less visible before we "polish". What are we trying to avoid when we sand?
