I'm glad none of the older siblings were hostile, neither did they hiss or bark at the new kitten cause I think they knew and could tell the kitten is a baby. Small, innocent and precious. Even Milky couldn't resist from leaving Tan's sideand keep smelling Tan hahaha. GB's first encounter with Tan showed how caring or "parent-like" GB is towards Tan when he tried to groom Tan. Butler's pets are such angels. Beautiful family!

I have read that all baby mammals have a special "I'm just a baby" scent which protects them from aggression. It stimulates nurturing feelings in adult animals.

Slightly more complicated than that but in essence, sorta! Adults do usual recognize babies as babies (some need an adjustment period if they haven't been around any young things, and some still aren't good at being gentle). Females are much more likely to decide this is their new child, even if they're vastly different species (it's not uncommon in rescue stories that an orphaned kitten was nurse by a dog or a puppy by a cat) but even then there's females who either don't understand babies, or just dislike them. There's also a difficulty with adult males that sometimes they'll want to kill a baby, to send its mother back into heat so it'll be their genes instead, but that's more common in more wild animals ie strays and outdoor cats or actual wild animals, etc. So it all comes down to the personality of the adult animal(s) abd how they're introduced. If you're familiar with introducing babies to your pets and know their personality sometimes you can introduce them right away, but if you're uncertain at all then it's good to take your time. The average spoiled housepet isn't likely to kill or hurt a new baby, but you don't want to take that chance really.
TLDR yes but also no. Babies do have a smell (you can smell it yourself! It's the best smell) but it's not a guaranteed protection at all. 😊

When i introduce the new kitten to my cats, they dont like it at all, so, i was a little bit worried about Tan, but i'm impressed! They look so confident and so adorable.
Our cat hissed at the new kitten for like 2 weeks - seemed like to just show dominance or something because she was never more aggressive than that. But after that she became kind of a mom to her. She had this habit of putting the little one in a headlock to bathe her, even when she grew up. 😂
@@Ad_Inferno - A couple of years ago I introduced my older cat to our new kitten. I just brought him in, let him out on my bed. My older cat inhaled a huge breath and the kitten immediately noticed him, ran straight to him, swung around, glued himself to the older cat and looked up adoringly. That poor old cat had to give up on that huge hiss he inhaled all that air for and just let out a sigh of acceptance. It took 5 minutes. That kitten stayed glued to that cat for months. The pictures are hilarious.

Yes they can, I’ve watched so many videos of dogs and kittens meeting for the first time, dogs are always very gentle it’s like they know it’s a kitten, a baby, so they try to protect. From what I’ve seen generally dogs are more friendly to kittens than cats. In general, cats are a bit more unpredictable, some are very curious and nice, while others are a bit more unfriendly, some cats even hiss at the kittens, cats are very territorial even more than dogs.
