Here's the thing through, dont think your getting something free just because it comes with the phone. With the prices on phones rising it's easy for them to say hey here are *free earbuds*. I pre ordered my s10+ that came with the galaxy buds. 2 weeks later the s10+ was already $100 off. A month later oh man I could have bought the buds and still saved like $200

Pixel 2 : So you added a second camera, right? *NO NEED*
Pixel 4 :
Well there was no need of secondary camera at that time. they are doing that portrait mode stuff using software but in 2019 secondary camera makes sense by adding a wide angle camera but sadly they gave the telephoto lens and that makes no sense.
Would of been better with a Ultra wide, since they don't need the telephoto for portrait Mode
Everyone and their momma said they should have an Ultrawide but they believe in telephoto , but why ?
@@rotimika Idk if the telephoto lens gave us some creamy bokeh and cool cinematic video blur I would be all for it but that's not the case
@@comkioxd yes it does tho. Even tho I'm all for ultrawide but they don't have to use software trickery to blur the image, google themselves admitted that the depth is real and is actually more realistic. Look at 11pro's portrait, imo, faaarrrr superior than 3xl. Plus, portrait most of the time only used to work with human faces, other things or beings, were 90% of the time, a miss. That shouldn't be the case now

If you don't take a whole lot of pictures, the storage space is pretty much sufficient.
But the Pixel 4 marketing does somewhat boast its camera capabilities. So for those who uses the camera quite a lot (I'm guilty as charged.), it's pretty easy to burn through all that storage.
@Shahram Khanali Although that could be good for some people, I just don't like using cloud storage.
Also, even if you get "unlimited" storage on Google Photos, it's not unlimited for "Original" images(Pixel up until recently offered unlimited Original photo backups). Instead, you get unlimited "High" quality backups for any phones, which means the image is already slightly compressed from the original. I don't like that. Great review! I have the 3a XL and really like it. Looking forward to getting a 4 with the Soli gestures.
Yep, people need to realise, a pixel isnt a hardware experience, its a software experience, a show of prowess of what can be done with Android and certain hardware.
Pixels are usually pretty buggy on the software side as well.
What Google tries to do with pixel is copy apple rather than getting the most out of Android. Atleast that's been the case so far. Instead of trying to get the most out of phone Google is trying software optimisation and such to make Android compete with iphone. Nexus series were completely opposite of that. Competitively priced hardware and great software and xda support from Google. (Google should use the revive Nexus lineup as their more budget offerings with pixels being top of the line because uptill the 4 gens of pixel devices they all felt like Google's beta projects rather than actual competitive consumer devices).
I actually really like the Pixel hardware. Was the selling point for me. Feels great in the hand without the bare metal edges or distracting screen notches of other more expensive phones.
@@vaibhavdabwalv1 my point exactly, they don't look like they wanna compete, feel like even iPhone are stepping up a bit in trying to compete hardware wise, Google are just playing too simple and somewhat inferior in my opinion. 64 base storage in the android market is just laughable and silly from Google. I know what I'm saying might subjective but this phone doesn't scream flagship.

Same prices as last year...no "increase". Calm your worried tits down
iPhones are cheaper now. So it's a hard sell. iPhone 11 is $699. Has 4K 60 fps HDR video on both cameras ( wide + standard ), 40k 60 fps on front, same face ID sensor, faster CPU and GPU, more updates, brighter display.
As an Android fan, i wouldn't recommend anyone to buy a pixel.
@@rph_redacted really don't think the iPhone is comparable to Android phones, but it is a great iPhone and very affordable without feeling you got the cheap version (XR was a giveaway to be cheap). I truly believe the OnePlus phones and Xiaomi are way better than this Pixel, in almost every way. The big sellingpoints for this phone are worse then most cheaper androids.
@@TheVertigohtm Now I've got the logic of Google: the same specs, the same price. The only problem it is 2019: no ultrawide camera, thick besels, 64Gb of storage looks like a joke, and for desert they removed unlimited storage for photos.

That's kinda creepyπ
Shii, that's what I thought.π π
Portgust Zal the iphones with FaceID do this also - FaceID tracks your eyes and if you are looking at the screen, it never dims or locks, dims notification sounds, etc. Also wonβt unlock the phone unless youβre actively looking at it (so someone canβt steal your phone and point it at your sleeping face to unlock it)

Nope they won't release pixel 5 next year, because pixel line is dead and kill by google just like their others products and services. This is the last pixel device.
So nice to actually see a video not criticizing the soli radar and actually see someone using it and it working well. I use it all the time in my pixel, not always perfect but I use it all the time when Iβm listening to music.
Can you experiment more on the hand wave gestures? Like how small motion can it detect as waving, also how far and near. I think it would be cooler if it requires smaller motion and can also handle very close motion (like when u dont want to wave furiously when its on the table). Overall if it can handle sneakier hand move without accidentally taking other motion as input it could be a future phones feature
It's now I know Samsung really did a good job in 2019
True dat
Samsung phones are fine, but they have a funky/cartoony UI. The Pixels, HTC, and One Plus phones, do a lot better there.
I made the right decision switching from the Pixel 2 to Note 10 Plus.
@@miguelidcomm Yeah but their One UI feels so much better than their previous Samsung Experience UI. It's so smooth and easy to use.

Thanks for this, its really made my decision. The massive disadvantage where I live though is price. Its also hard to find the pixel 3 but now I know its a pretty good phone I might as well splurge and get the 4.

Great review!
Thanks for a Great Professional video . It has helped me in my smartphone choice .
But why are the display corners more rounded than on any other phone ever?
If the small one had a 3400 mAh battery and more local storage for the same price, it'd be a great deal. Also that Google Photos backup thing hurts badly.
In response to both the first and second thing you've said: Google likes to cut corners.
It's easier to swallow knowing that this phone is gauranteed to go on sale. Also, supposedly the "high" quality photo backup isn't that bad. But it makes all video 1080p so you'll have to back those up separetly if you care about videos at all

Why does the Pixel 4 literally look like a shitty knockoff iPhone 11
Iβd like to see a zoom preview added like was on some older HTC & Samsung phones of the past. What it was that it recognizes your finger/stylus pointing at lets say a photo and it enlarged it and gives you a better view of what the picture actually is. Itβs also able to zoom text in web pages and other apps. I donβt think itβd be that much to add seeing how it was available years ago.

When they loose interest they gonna be like What project soli? nah never heard of it.
The battery is what I'm concerned about too
What if they had increased battery capacity? Will it be more expensive ? I don't think so.
I've been getting about a day and a half out of my battery. So much better than my pixel 2. I use it for music a lot sometimes too. I love the motion sense while cooking.

I'm pretty certain that the gestures are for when your phone is on a flat surface and you're not holding it. I'm also pretty certain than when you're holding it, the radar is picking up the hand that's holding the phone.
The only time I've seen people complain about the air gestures are when they're holding the phone in the air - what I mean is that if you're holding the phone anyway, and you're waving your other hand around in the air, you might as well just press the button on the screen.
It's meant to be used when the phone is stationary, on a flat surface.
