Same here! In the comics, Wong was basically Strangeโs butler but by fleshing him out in the movies they make him more of an actual character.

The CGI was honestly some of the best Iโve seen in awhile. The shots of him stepping on the ten rings to dodge the dark dwellerโs attacks were actually believable
also the cgi of the different animals as well as that dragon and mega soul sucker was looking clean
I agree completely, the whole movie was very aesthetically pleasing, but the scene where Wenwu jumps out of the car and watches it crash into the trees at the bottom of the cliff had some pretty bad CGI. The trees looked really unrendered, I'm not really sure what happened there

As my South Asian parents would tell me, "Look at him; he had so much strength and yet he still worked at a hotel. Think of the things he could've been! A doctor, an engineer..." and so on and so forth. That scene with Katy's family really hit close to home and honestly made me smile.

The choreography was nothing like Iโve ever seen in the MCU, it was a mix of American and Jackie Chan/Hong Kong cinema

It was beautiful. I couldnโt believe how good it looked. Usually in marvel fight scenes, you just accept that its choreographed but shit, in Shang Chi even if you knew it was choreographed the moves looked impactful and realistic to a certain extent

It was the worst MCU movie ever! Stop pretending. They could not find worst actors if they tried, it was a Chinese film not American(and not in a good way)
This movie is weirdly nostalgic, as if there is a distinct Hong Kong wuxia movie flair, and left me wanting more.
In Shang-chiโs room, there are 3 posters. 2 I know for certain are kung-fu/Wuxia Hong Kong movies. Not sure about the third.
One of those movies is Kung Fu Hustle which in it of itself was also a love letter to kung fu movies. Not to mention, the movie was mostly choreographed by Brad Allen who worked with Jackie Chan frequently and also starred Bruce Leeโs stunt double Yuen Wah who is also an accomplished kung fu actor himself.

This move was truly incredible. I never expected to see fight choreography equal to what we saw in The Winter Soldier. However, after seeing the film, Iโm happy to see the fight choreography is far superior! The fight choreographer for this film was Brad Allen, along with Andy Cheng, who famously choreographed many Jackie Chan films, and Shang-Chi was his last movie!

I feel like when Wong said there's a long trajectory for you and it is nothing like you've experienced before, he wasnt just speaking to the both of them, he was also speaking to the audience, as a way of hinting that the MCU is gonna be even more epic than what we've experienced so far
Ye it felt like a message for the character and the audience, a lot to do with multiverse and bigger beings such as eternals and cosmic beings

"Morris" and the other creatures are actual ancient Chinese mythological creatures. Dijiang aka Hundun (morris), Qilin aka Longma (dragon horse) and Jiuweihu aka 9-tailed fox spirit (also appears in Naruto). Marvel really did their fricking homework! I'm impressed.

Shang-chiโs father reminds me of Dark Dr. Strange when they both lost their loves of their lives. Both men will do anything to get them back, which led to their madness.
When watching this movie I was thinking โthis feels similar to Dr.Strangeโ a few times and thatโs why. And they must be connected somehow from the post credits scene

Loved the movie, really liked that they didn't compromise the origins and had a very asian feel to it, as an south east asian american it's always nice to see asian representation not be diluted. Very solid movie with great action scenes and a plot that was better than expected. Also made me miss being back home in the Bay Area after all those SF scenes.

I also loved the movie but the origin of the ten rings weren't portrayed enough. It's literally on the title but maybe they'll do another film about it more
As a South East Asian (Singapore) I am also very happy to see a nice blend of cultures incorporated into the MCU
In my opinion this was this best marvel movie Iโve watched.. from the visuals to the balance of the action and comedy. I wasnโt expecting much because of the trailer but I was pleasantly surprise.
(Plus I watched it in 3D so it was 10times better)
yeah. the pocket dimension is a very common/overused trope in a lot of cultivation novels.
I see Bruceโs arm is mostly healed at this point. Also, I guess Xialing will be a threat in Ironheart given Ririโs ties to the organization in the Eve Ewing run (hence โThe Ten Rings will returnโ) as well as Shang-Chi 2.

If you look at the colors, wheb Shang-Chi's dad were using them for evil, they glowed purple like the color of The Deviants, but when used for good by Shang-Chi, they glowed the same gold color as, not only the ancient magic used by Wong, Dr. Strange and The Ancient One, but by the Eternals in the upcoming film
Instead of "Shang-Chi will return" we got "The Ten Rings will return" excited for the future mash-ups we'll see in that fight club!

As a Chinese-American, this movie is everything to me. Loved hearing Mandarin Chinese in the theater
As an American tired of watching our country pander to our legitimate enemy in communist China I could care less. Itโs so odd that this young generation doesnโt realize communist China is as antiโwokeโ as it gets they have and are continuing to treat people like animals or worse even.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much Mandarin was spoken in the movie.

I just notice, Xu Xiulian in the second end credits scene also changed the design of the ten rings logo. The first one had swords, the second had hook swords, and hers has a flower (lotus?) with a skull in the middle
I love the water dragon's animation here. Seems flawless. Now it seems that CGI tech is capable of producing anything, can we have a decent Dragon Ball live action movie now???

Something I really appreciated in this movie was the parts in Chinese. It made the movie feel more authentic and beautiful. As a white American Iโve always loved the beauty of my Asian brothers and sisters culture.
Yeah I really like how they spend a good amount of the movie speaking Chinese. It makes sense.
I live in a greek speaking country. Two english folks went to the theatre and chatted "We should see Shang-Chi" "Wouldnt it be in chinese" "It's a marvel movie, it'll be in english or have subtitles".
The english subtitles were removed and changed with greek ones. They didnt understand jack shit lmao

I think it would be dope if they did a "Ten-Rings Tournament" Series, where each episode centered around a fight between two MCU characters, but would also have an overarching plot that includes the development of some kind that affects Shang-Chi 2

This phase 4 looks so different of what we've had in the past. So many lingering threats, so many villains around, no clear sign of the next big bad...if every MCU phse was marked by an Avengers movie, I wonder what it'd look like from these few movies and shows we've got so far. So hyped!
I think the most important movie for this phase will be doctor strange it will clear up alot of stuff since a punch of thing are leading to doctor strange and wanda
@@ma-le2lg And to think we've had just two movies in Phase 4, and a lot of content to talk about in DisneyPlus' shows. I believe, given what we know so far, Strange 2 & SM 3 will be like a two part breaking point leading us towards what will be in coming movies, and eventual TV shows. I just can't shake out off my head that there are plenty of villains! And we haven't met Secret Invasion & The Marvels & Wakanda Forever! I'm so excited for what Marvel Studios is creating.
I definitely feel that the next spiderman movie is gonna be on end game level!!

I don't think Bruce's transformation was permanent, I think he decided to stay as the hulk after he gained control, and I'd say the next time he turns into the hulk his arm should get better
His arm wouldn't get better at all; it's been explicitly stated by the Russo brothers themselves that injuries sustained by the combined power of the Infinity Stones are permanent; even if Bruce does Hulk out again in the future, he essentially only has one arm to work with.
I remember the leaked synopsis had Hulk losing his arm from the snap, and then getting a replacement arm from Tony

Love this movie! So much action packed in over 2 hours. Definitely Shang Chi is re-watchable over and over! Another epic Marvel film!
For me Shang chi brought back the excitement of martial arts movies like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee movies did!
Maybe its just me but I noticed a few nods to jackie chan, the bus fight and the bamboo skyscraper fight

Jackie Chan maybe but more like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, but no not like Bruce Lee at all.
I could swear Jackie choreography was in this movie. So well made and fast. Like jet LI and Jackie styles.

could they be made of URU Metal? and are similar to how Limitless the potential of Stormbreaker is, but the difference is the purpose of crafting them, Stormbreaker was crafted to kill 'Titans' or so eloquently said by Thor "The Thanos killing kind" while he Ten wrings might have been crafted to be used as tools of protecting the Universe from other multiverse threats, also this allows Shang chi to gain bigger role and purpose in the upcoming madness that will befall through Scarlet, Peter, and sylvie's actions

I'm starting to think Dr. Strange might actually be the more responsible one between him and Wong given that apparently Wong regularly goes against literal monsters in an underground fight ring in his spare time. I can't see Strange doing that.

Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings was a great movie. Can't wait to see more of Shang-Chi. Really hope Shang-Chi can team up with Iron Fist in the MCU

The Shang-Chi rings very closely resemble the rings Phastos used in Eternals against Icarus.

Wow I was blown away how good this movie was! Shang Chi in my opinion is the best origin movie to date in the MCU and it was so refreshing to see. I saw it for a second time tonight and it was just as incredible the second time. The fight scenes and cinematography are top tier. The entire cast is spectacular and I canโt wait to watch it again!

Loved the movie seen it tonight at the Drive-in, so excited to see everything unfold. Feel like a kid again after reading my first comic and having my mind blown with so many incredible possibilities of "OMG what's next" anticipating the next issue. p.s. order two awesome shirts, the 10 rings and what if? Can't wait to get them.
Wasn't the dweller in darkness using the rings in sort of a LotR way to lure Shang's father into setting it free? So whatever the beacon is calling out to it may stand to reason would be on par with the threat level of the dweller? Definitely can't wait to find out!

My 2 Ten Rings theories:
-They'll be in Armor Wars
-They'll cause the Secret Wars
UPDATE ( Sep. 7, 2021) Been thinking about it further, and this one's a bit of a stretch, but there are TEN rings. What if (no pun intended) each of the rings were once wielded or worn by one of ten Eternals we'll be seeing in their upcoming movie? (1) Sersi, (2) Ikaris, (3) Kingo, (4) Sprite, (5) Phastos, (6) Makkari, (7) Druig, (8) Gilgamesh, (9) Ajak & (10) Thena. Kinda perfect, no? Perhaps at some point in their tenure on Earth, they discarded or no longer needed the rings, so they collectively hid them, only to be found or acquired by Wen Wu 1,000 years ago. Furthermore, the beacon within the ring only activated when the Mega Soul Sucker was slain. Perhaps this beacon only activates when a DEVIANT (a la Mega Soul Sucker) is killed, which would naturally act as an alert system for the Eternals when in their possession. As we all know from the trailer, Eternals don't get involved or interfere in human matters unless Deviants are involved. This would also explain why the beacon within the ring never activated while Wen Wu used them throughout the ages - He only fought humans in his conquests and never battled or killed any Deviants. Original post: When Wong held up the exploded view of one of the rings, it definitely looked like Celestial tech that maybe Phastos came up with. Further reinforced by the fact that they mention the rings are much older than 1000 years old, when they discussed when the rings were found by Wen Wu.

Wengwu uses the ten rings for 1000 no beacon(wong says we first heard it when Shang used it), Shang uses it, beacon activated. sSo, since he was using it for good, couldn't it also be signalling someone good? Not likely, because they need devices like this to introduce villians maybe, but still stands to reason
I loved it! Some of MCUโs best fight choreography by far, and that soundtrack was awesome. Iโm so excited about what this all means for MCU moving forward.

This movie blew my expectations out of the water. It easily made my top 5 personal list and maybe even top 3. Truly a breath of fresh air for the franchise (not that it needs much help lol) 10/10 would recommend it

Can I just say that one of the main reasons why I watched Shang Chi is because I want to look how you analyze the movie? I really enjoy your analysis and makes me understand the MCU more as I am really not that knowledgeable about the Marvel comics.

Theyโre more than likely summoning Fing Fang Foom. In the comics, the rings are directly tied to FFF (who is an alien contrary to popular belief).
