Man, out of my 13yrs of listening to Kpop, I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen a group cry reacting to their own Music Video. They are too precious for this world and i hope they continue onward with more hit songs!

Watching the first mv, when the scene where she was recording no one in the classroom came, my jaw dropped, and i was so shocked. I got goosebumps and got sad so suddenly. I was smiling sm until that part came up. These mvs were so good, the directors, artists, music and storyline were the best. Best mvs in this year for me, ngl

You know... once they become full blown adults later on in life , they are going to come back to this mv and it’s going to hit so different bc they were actual teens in it and it’s just going to be so emotional bruh 😭, literally grew up together plus the mv looks so real like they actually went to school together and hung out

Haerin knew right away the mood of the mv and was amazed because they definitely weren't told it was gonna be a sad vibe since they were dancing and smiling.

This is the first time I saw idols react to their mv to tears, NewJeans is special! These girls unlock a new higher level

The thing I like about their mv reaction is that they seems like they genuinely like their MVs and their own music. They got amazed on the outcome that they’ve work for and also genuinely enjoy the process as well. I hope their company took care of them well so that they keep releasing good musics and MVs for the longest time and we got to see happy Newjeans again🥺🫶

Haerin is right though. This Music video hit so hard being 21 and freshly starting adulthood. I still feel like a kid but the music video solidified the idea of coming to terms with yourself. The idea of moving forward while holding onto those precious memories that you take care of in the back of your mind. I wanna go back to that freedom and experience it over again.
The music video reminded me of so much. One of the first music videos that really had this affect on me. It was a tough watch for me. It tapped into so many parts of my identity. I truly applaud New Jeans with their hard work! The music video came out flawlessly.

i love one thing about haerin in this video is she becoming a bit talkative. before this she always just nod and smiles and talk a little. good for her. go haerin go

I think the girls weren't given the meaning of the song and mv until after filming so things could feel more natural. It def payed off bc it felt like the girls were just hanging out and enjoying school life. Once you know the meaning it becomes 10x more emotional but still just as meaningful, whether it's from the perspective of your past or of a fan. It invokes something either way.

as an older kpop fan these videos really resonated with me 😭 there are groups i’ve loved for over a decade who got me through some of the hardest parts of my life, and even though i’m in my 30s now and i’ve changed a lot as a person, those songs and memories are still so precious to me, and they make me just as happy today as they did when they came out. like this perfectly captures the bittersweet nostalgia of fandom in a way i’ve never seen before. i absolutely cried when the girls cried lmao

98년 여고생이던 그 시절의 감각이 다 살아나게 해줘서 고마운 뮤직비디오. 음악방송 테이프 녹화해서 가져 온 친구가 점심시간 천장에 달려있는 티비에 틀어주면 꺅꺅거리며 춤추고 수다 떨고 마냥 까르르 신났던 그 시절. 좋아했던 그룹의 컴백에 들떠 방과 후 신나라 레코드로 달려 갔었고, 씨디플레이어 이어폰 친구랑 한쪽씩 나눠 들으며 야자했던 그 시간들. 40이 된 지금도 너무 생생한데 묘하게 음악이 끝나면 아련해지고 공허지는것 까지 기획 의도였나 싶을 만큼 그 당시 순수하게 빠져있던 내가 생각나네. 졸업 후 대학가면서 전공과목에 몰두하고 취업에 경력쌓다 결혼과 출산까지 겪은 지난 2n년 동안 그 시절 열광하던 내모습이 존재했었나 의문이 들 정도로 잊고 살았는데, 먼지 풀풀 나는 기억을 꺼내줬다. 정말이지 선물같은 아련함이다

for my opinion, the mv has a three meaning on how you will see it.
(get your cookies and milk! my opinions is quite long!)
1. all of heesoo's friends which is the newjeans members, d!ed in a accident and it was caused by the deer who keeps appearing in the end and heesoo, the girl who has the camera and filming all the time is the only one who survived. And she is hallucinating that her friends which is the newjeans members are still with her all time. The guy who always look at heesoo, is the reason why she kept going in her life and also she ended with.
2. heesoo is the representation of us who likes our favorite idols in the kpop industry. For this example, heesoo is happy when she sees newjeans and it can provide her some happiness and strength, the newjeans members also cheer on her when she is hurt, when she saw the guy who always look at her is resembles us fans that may also face other events in life that distract us from having a identity as a fan and it can be a real life romance or something else entirely, but sometimes there will be pains and events in our own life that our own favorite idols may not be able to help us with, or give us strength for it, the scene where heesoo walks into the rain alone, despite the umbrella in hand, parallels the earlier scene where she skips in the rain with her friend which is the newjeans members. And heesoo also walks away from the newjeans members, leaving alone under her umbrella because when us fans begin to pull away from the fandom, we always will find ways to stand independently, she is also seen walking with the guy which is the guy who always look at her from earlier as the camera falls to the ground and breaks, she chooses reality over idols and became a grown up but she puts a video tape into the monitor, and the newjeans members remain as empowering and happy as ever on screen, but she is the only one that seems to have grown up. Because us when we grow up and out of the fandom, we can always return to the memories of our favorite idols or group that we loved. If we can choose to revisit the past, our idols or group will forever be our happy pill in videos or on screen. And that is a story that all of us fans can relate to, especially those growing up because no matter what, our love for our idols or groups will forever remain a happy memory that no one can take away.
3. both music video or the whole concept of "ditto" is inspired by the 2000 film made in south korea also named "ditto" which is about the two students at the same high school but 20 years apart, are actually somehow able to communicate through their ham radio sets. But here in our case which is newjeans, we can see that heesoo uses a camera instead of a ham radio, and she films in the air in different parts of the school while in her camera screens is isn't empty, but she sees the newjeans members and able to communicate with them.

청춘...뉴진스 멤버들이 30년후에 이 뮤직비디오를 다시 보게 된다면, 그 시절 스타로써가 아니라 밤하늘에 빛나는 별보다 더 아름다웠던 청춘의 시간을, 뮤직비디오라는 영상으로 아름답게 담을 수 있었던 것에 대해, 많이 행복 할겁니다. 그리고, 그 시절에는 결코 알 수 없는 것들이 있는데.....많은 시간이 지나야 알게 된다는 것이, 인간의 슬픈 운명 입니다.

애들한테는 이게 진짜 청춘의 추억이기도 하니까 감회가 남다르겠다

디토라는 노래는 뒤편에 놓고 온 나를 다시 만나러 가는 그런 느낌의 명곡이고
뮤비에는 오랜동안 잊고 살았던 우리의 설램, 추억, 고통들이 다 들어있는 타임캡슐 같은 명작이었어요

90년대에 학창시절을 보내고 90년대 아이돌과 함께 자라온 입장에서 뉴진스는 향수를 불러오면서도 어딘가 요즘 스타일이라는 느낌이 있었는데
ditto 뮤직비디오는 정말이지 그 시절로 돌려주는 것 같아 볼 때마다 매번 먹먹해져요.
지금같이 핸드폰 카메라나 디카가 없던 시절이었지만 집에 8mm 캠코더가 있었는데 왜 친구들과 같이 놀던 모습 찍어놓은 비디오 하나 없었을까 너무나도 아쉬워요.
정말 별 거 없이 떡볶이 먹고 장난이나 치며 돌아다니던 시절인데 그 때 친구들 만나면 그 추억으로 20년을 얘기하고 또 얘기해요.
지금은 누굴 만나더라도 그 때와 같은 것들을 느낄 수 없으니까요.
리액션 영상 보면서 또 울컥하여 목이 메였네요.
뮤직 비디오 볼 때마다 좋지만 감정이 앉아버려 빠져나오는데 시간이 걸리는 게 사실이에요. 그래도 또 봐요.

화면속 분위기랑 똑같은 80-90년대 10대 20대 시절을 보낸나도 비록 나이 많은 아저씨지만 이 뮤비보면서 상당히 울컥했는데, 이제 겨우 10대 후반이고 이 뮤비를 찍은 당사자들도 비슷한 감정을 느낀다는 게 놀랍고 신기하다. 수십년뒤 본인들이 모여서 다시한번 이 영상을 같이 보면 펑펑 울 듯, 그리고 의도한건지 다른 뮤비들도 5섯명의 아이들이 성장하는 과정을 담은 추억을 담은 비디오 같다는 생각이 문득 듦.

The director is a genius! The first video is how when you are young and kpop celebrities are you everything as you are pure and innocent which is the deer at the beginning then the second video is how her innocents is slowly disappearing as she is getting older as K-pop isn’t as important to her as it used to be and slowly disappears, which is why she is so sad at the end as the deer leaves her and she walks off with the boy. Then her playing the video in the future reminds her of how she once was and brings back all of the happy memories. I think this really hit home which a lot of fans as when I was younger I loved certain artists but as I got older I forgot about them, but when their songs randomly play on the radio all those good memories come back and I feel great. To all the people who produced this video 👏👏👏👏👏

I loved that they were surprised at how it looked like a romance and horror film. Looks like it was filmed a while ago, I wonder when. They already knew the plot and I wished they would explain it or was keeping it ambiguous the point.

확실히 다녤은 바로 울것 같았는데 의외로 해린이가 그에 못지 않게 눈물 많은 고양이었다니...!!

정말 뉴진스만이 가질 수 있는 순수함과 따스함이 있기에 사람들에게 더 와닿는 거 같다. 특히 민지가 나중에 이 뮤비가 큰 추억이 될 거 같다고 했을 때 뭉클함과 부러움이 공존했다. 뉴진스는 단순한 노래와 춤 그 이상의 무언가인듯 하다.

Man, the relationship between Minji and Hanni is just too much for me see. Their interactions with one another is pretty much FRIENDS till the end….love it so much!

어릴때 추억이 떠올라서 기분이 좋은데 그때가 너무 그리워서 마음이 아프기도 하다. ditto는 흔한 아이돌 곡을 넘어서서 대한민국 대중가요 명곡 리스트에 오를 수 있는 곡이다.

그렇게 이 mv 는 한국 인기 동영상 1위 2위를 달았고 2시간 만에 멜론 차트 2시간만에 1위를 차지한 ditto 되게 마음이 아픈거 같으면서도 차분해지는 노래라 나중에 추억이 떠오르고 좋은 뮤비인거 같아요

The seating arrangement is perfect. All close on the couch together so they can support and interact with each other. The youngest in the middle and the extroverts on the outside to direct the energy toward the middle. Besties seated next to each other. Couldn't be better. 🥰❤

I don't have fond memories of my school days. I've always been a lonely and quiet girl with few friends. Even now, at the age of 24, I am a very lonely woman with no friends. The Ditto MV has a specially meaning because to me, my friends are my idols. You're the people who make me laugh. When I listen to your music and see the stuff on the NWJNS channel, I feel accompanied and accepted. I wish NewJeans were my friends when I was a teenager and we shared memories, I wouldn't have felt so lonely

I had never cried with a K-pop MV until I had the curiosity to see 'Ditto Side A', and I was sad for days and I always get an empty feeling when listening to the song, because I remember the lonely girl; watching this MV left me very impacted because it was like seeing my own life but from another perspective, I was and still am that lonely girl at school, college and wherever I am. It made me sad but at the same time it made me think "wow, the lonely kids are finally being seen". It's a MV that gave me a lot of triggers, however it's still amazing. NewJeans is so new and so amazing!❤

i think the message they sent out through the mv was very important, "kpop isnt something to go to when faced with reality checks/problems, after all us fans dont know the idols irl, and the kpop idols can move on with their lives without us (in the scene heeseo was crying but after that new jeans was dancing on the school roof like nothing happened. kpop will always be entertainment and happiness, but it shouldnt be the only source of happiness"

아이돌의 본질을 보여준 뮤비. 그저 어렸던 시절 공감없이 그저 좋아만 했던 아이돌은 현실에선 비디오테잎에 남겨진 허상이었을뿐. 시간이 지난후 아 그런 가수가 있었지... 하고 추억 또는 기억으로만 남겨지는 정도. 희수의 캠코더를 현재 아이들의 핸드폰 정도로 보면 될거. 핸드폰 안에서만 존재하는 내 아이돌. 언젠가 기억에서 사라지고 현실로 돌아오게 되는.

Ditto's story of a girl having newjeans as friends resonates a lot with many fans who listen to their idols music to get them thru hard times... they someone/something to connect with, so they don't feel so lonely. The music video will always make me tear up, it's so beautiful. They're really are doing it different than other girl groups, it's refreshing.

NewJeans will always bring their best visuals, choreo, vocals and rap. Each member is truly so talented and together they create such immense power.

i can imagine how nostalgic it must be to see how far you've come and missing the old days. They had so much fun filming this Mv. I've stanned kpop for a while but i have never seen a group like newjeans. This is the first time i've ever loved and felt so much affection for a group like them. I never thought these five girls will change my life. Im happy that i found out about them, and that my childhood was spent with their love and music.

It's just amazing how they treat each other like bestfriends and not just workmates or girl group. Man they are soooooo different drom usual kpop girl group. I love them so much .

디토뮤비 오랜만에 또 보는데 ..개인적인 추측이고 감상이지만 스타와 팬의 그 아이러니한 관계와 감정을 막 데뷔한 신인이 뮤직비디오라는 이렇게나 직설적인 방식으로 먼저 꺼내줬다는게 너무 신선한 충격이었다. 뭔가 엔터테인먼트 산업의 제일 깊은 곳에서 결국 제일 핵심이 되는 어려운 얘기. 간단하게 말하면 팬의 입장에서는 연예인을 좋아하면 뭐가 남아? 결국 결핍에 의한 환상을 쫒고 있는거 아니야? 또 회사나 스타의 입장에서 이상적인 완벽한 이미지를 만들어서 듣기 좋은 말과 표현으로 포장하지만 결국 일대 다수가 되는 이런 관계를 (일정 부분은 사람의 마음을 속여가면서) 파는게 과연 옳아? 하는 물음에 아니라고 괜찮다고 우리는 다르다고 해도 양쪽 다 완전히 거리낌없기는 어렵다고 생각한다. 근데 이 부분에 대한 생각을 데뷔 초반에 먼저 풀어놓고 가는 게 역시 지금까지와는 완전히 다른 방식의 표현이라고 느껴졌다. 최소한 이런 아이러니와 관계의 한계 우리 다 알고있고 그 마음 다치지 않게 최선을 다할게라는 표현 같달까. 더 예리해졌다고 생각하면 조금 무섭기도하고 ㅋㅋ이 모든걸 다 포함해서 용기있고 대담하게 느껴졌다.
